Great video! Thank you for taking the time to show and explain the process upon arrival. As a first time traveler to Japan, this greatly reduces the stress as I will know what to expect at Haneda.
@@TamashiiRyu Let's go! 🥰 I'm so excited to hear that! I'm a bit nervous as it'll be my first trip there too, but your message definitely calmed me down. I hope I'll enjoy it as much as you did! Enjoy your days 🫡
@@tetristime9691 The flights went well. A bit of turbulence over the Pacific but that was the worst of it. Getting in and out of Japan's immigration arrivals/departures was quick and efficient. The time in Japan was fantastic. Saw so many things all over the southern half of the country. Can't wait to go back for more adventures!
Booked to fly into Haneda for next Cherry blossom season. The first and only time i entered Japan was in June and I entered and exited via Narita. This time, to save money, I'm entering via Haneda. Last time i had friends guide me through the airports in question. This time I'll be alone. This video provides a sense of ease.
When I arrived back in January we were let off the plane using a mobile gate onto the tarmac so a bus had picked us up and dropped us off right next to the immigration area. It wasn't that busy for me at the airport so there wasn't even a line so they fingerprinted me, scanned me, and stamped my passport within me being at immigration for like 5 minutes.
It's a great way to rediscover the joys of being a child and learning everything all over again. I couldn't stop marvelling at how pretty and unique everything was ❤ Even just walking around places like Tachikawa aimlessly was ridiculously enjoyable
hello how long did it take to clear through immigration (including time to exit plane?) reason i ask is because im flying into Haneda Airport HND from USA and then getting in a domestic flight to OSAKA (ITM or KIX haven’t decided) i should land 2-3pm and then my Osaka flight is 5pm is that fine ? i see it took 45 mins ! but what about the transfer to terminal 1 and then security checkpoint again? will i make it or should i change my osaka flight another hour later thanks friends cant wait to visit japan land
I think you should be ok but you have to be hurry and not have checked bags, just bring carry-on. While in the US, before departure, go to the Visit Japan Web and fill out the information, the questionnaires on the web are the same as on the paper forms, and get the QR Code download to your smartphone. It will save you time at the immigration and customs checkpoints. Have a great trip in Japan.
I'd personally recommend just getting the Shinkansen. Is it worth the stress of potential delays or using more time to familiarise yourself with a vital rail line between Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka with no real timer except midnight
Where are the arrival forms mentioned in the video so we can do them ahead of time? Thanks for this! Helps with the travel anxiety to see it before experiencing it.
I know it's late to say but anyone else wondering, the QR is the same as filling a form. You can do either, but I'd recommend doing the QR prior and having the web app ready on your phone.
@OnlyGrafting exactly what we did, and we breezed through customs when we were there last month. While we waited for our luggage we used our QR and did the kisk declaration and got our bags and was through customs in 5 mins.
A very helpful video, thank you! I do have one question. So I’m traveling to Japan for my first time next month and I have a 3.5 hour layover before getting on a domestic flight to Osaka. Is there a place where you can check your luggage in terminal 3 where I land or do you have to do it at the terminal you’re transferring to? I hope that makes sense 😅 I have anxiety so trying to figure this out a head of time would really help lol
We have a long layover to Japan 2 1/2 days to see Japan in a couple of days before heading to our final destination. I would assume this is not considered connecting to another flight and Japan would be considered our final destination right?
sorry for late reply.. but yes. Its closer to Central Tokyo. Narita is about 1 hour and half.. and Haneda is about 40 minutes. :) And I think its better for first time trip to Japan... :)
You can’t upload any image and video in the immigration check and Passport areas. If Japanese government find this video, you could be fined. Taking pictures and video at these kind areas every country is strictly forbidden.
It's custom and immigration forms. You can either complete them on the visit Japan website or on the plane when they are handed out. I would recommend doing it on the visit Japan web as you skip the long lines because they have dedicated queues for that.
Brit here. If you don't want to do the QR then you'll get the forms either before you depart your flight or before you can pass the checkpoint. Eyes peeled, you won't miss them

Thank you so much for this! I am making my first trip to Japan via Haneda in two weeks. So nervous and excited!!

It was the smoothest journey I ever made. Still here for another week. It has been absolutely magical so far.

this is very useful. when i arrived at 1100am, i got through in 10 mins as there was no queue!
I love this long yet calm walkway after sitting for half a day on a plane. Gets that blood flowing again in my legs.

If you have the QR code issued by the Visit Japan Web, you don't need to fill out paper forms.

At HND, once you past customs and enter the arrivals hall, there are check in counters for domestic flights where you can recheck your baggage.

the procedure similar like Kansai Osaka.

Yes, before customs, at 14:36. Make sure to watch the full video :)
