I was there at the “free concert”. What they didn’t mention here was that after Toxicity came out, coincidentally with 911, System of a Down subsequently went out on the Pledge of Alliegance tour with Slipknot. And both bands released new records at that time and Slipknot was also having trouble because they had already been out touring with Ozzfest, then 911 happened and both bands were in trouble. Slipknot’s crew was stuck in Canada and their album sales tanked, while System was in trouble because of that riot and the Article that Serj wrote. So the tour managers decided to put both bands together on one tour and just go for it, and kick some ass. And they did.

Toxicity was the #1 album in America the week of 9/11, one week after release. The trouble just ended up as free PR. @@burtfiasco that’s crazy, I wish I could have gone to that tour. What’s even more incredible about heavy metal music at that time was that Slayer’s album God Hates Us All was released on the day 9/11 happened, pure coincidence.

I don't think people realize that their rhythm guitarist might be one of the best to ever exist in rock music. He's a riff machine plus can harmonize vocals like Jerry Cantrell. To me that's what makes System of a Down really special. Everyone is talented but that guy is like cream of the crop. I heard their song War recently. It's so precise, emotive. As a musician when I hear it I just picture some kid who sat in his room and that's all he did was play till his timing was so nuanced, perfected. His style isn't flashy like Eddie Van Halen speed, but it's rugged with a purity to it kind of like Sabbath. Dudes underrated.

First time I heard SOAD is when I won tickets for Metelicca's Summer Santorini tour I think in 1999. Never heard of them or the other opening act (think it was power an 5000). Of course More was and is today my favorite band, sorry SOAD...love your music too though.) So I bought a copy of both band's albums and this was my impression of SOAD-very fast in a speed metal kind of way but also very melodic. You weren't going to get a six to ten minute song but two to three minute song. When you were done with a short song it was like a hungry man who was fed a large dinner and was very satisfied. Sometimes when bands did a short song, sometimes you feel like there should have been more. Not with SOAD and it just seemed every song was that way. To me they were that good where they need not make very long songs...they got everything you wanted in the short songs. Was ready to graduate AIT in Ft Lee, VA when 9/11 happened. That an Army school for Supply and Logistics. A lot of soldiers loved your music, I know I did. Can't wait to hear a new album....oh yes there was no way for me to make it to a concert unless special considerations were made like to go somewhere else if I freaked out. In 20006 was able to do that at a Norm concert. Why? Was wounded twice in Iraq and am a disabled vet where it was bad in a crowd with PTSD. The other reason was just had cancer to take out my cancerous esophagus replaced by my stomach and was not allowed to eat or drink anything for three months after getting out of the hospital.

How can anyone still think that Afghanistan, Libya and Iraq had anything to do with oil? America didn't take any oil. They didn't even take back their own military equipment. You sure it doesn't have anything to do with the political interests of a country that isn't very nice to the Palestinians Serj?

*Okay… let’s push all of this aside and remember that Rumi loves his cars (and is also surrounded by the traintracks). Let’s never forget that Rumi loves guitars that sing as well. Let’s also never forget that Serj will NEVER fight again… so, if I go up to Serj and say, “Make love to me”, he will have NO CHOICE, but to do it because he’s been IMPROVED/MOVED by “his son”, Rumi Madatyan/Tankian/Kardashian/Sarkisian. Why was Serj improved/moved? Because Rumi is “THE ONE” (yes, “the one” who does the kicking/biting/pinching/yelling). Let’s also never forget that Angela Sarkisian/Madatyan/Kardashian/Tankian didn’t have a camera for ALL OF THESE YEARS (despite being the wife of a multimillionaire) up until Instagram actually became a thing. Let’s also never forget that Angela also has a lazy eye and can’t tell the difference between a blatant wall vs. Serj’s face. Let’s also NEVER forget that Rumi is old enough to understand what it means to be “drunk” with passion and complexities that most people don’t even completely grasp until their mid-adulthoods: economics/sociology/war theatre/political theatre. If Serj even as much says, “NO - I SHAN’T MAKE LOVE TO YOU; FOR RUMI LOVES HIS CARS/GUITARS THAT SING AND HE’S ALSO CONSISTENTLY SURROUNDED BY THE RAILROAD TRACKS” I will reply with, “But… you also stated that you will NEVER fight again and ‘no’ indicates resistance and you’re, in turn, fighting…” and he will have no choice, but to live up to his statements (given that he made this promise to his little/small/microscopic [the smallest baby that has ever existed in all of history] baby, Rumi - the SUPREME poet of love… given that NO OTHER POET knows what love is)!*
