Yea, the shaky footage of an old man beating the ever living piss out of a demon might just look like a particularly old and grizzled Dark Angel doing his job, until Guilliman realizes that demon is Angron
I love the entire visual design of emporers children, because it conveys an idea about slaanesh that can get overlooked. The obsession angle with slaanesh that prompts a person to abandon everything else in pursuit of it. Their health, their appearance, their very selves, are just tools and later obstacles to be used and then discarded when it gets in the way of their single minded pursuits.
In the interest of accuracy, I dont think there is confirmation that it's a grey knight that fell to Slaanesh. They are literally described as a "silver knight" and "an adaptus astartes with a will stronger than silvered anamantium."
I think people really undersell Fulgrim's disappointment with Guilliman, sure it wasn't dramatic but from Fulgrim's POV it was a very, very long way coming. Everyone notes that the Emperor made primarchs with redundancy but in my eyes Fulgrim was Guilliman's redundancy, (or the other way around) Fulgrim was one of the first Primarchs recovered and is part of the "Club" of Horus, Ferrus, Dorn and the second. All of them were close and as is well known, Horus was so concerned about the second's honor he almost died for it. Fulgrim on Chemos had a upbringing similar to Curze and Guilliman, like Curze he was born on an awful mining planet, however like Guilliman he had a Mother and Father, he liked them enough to have marble statues of them in his personal quarters on the Emperor's Pride, He had many wives (The only primarch to have loved) and brought his planet from Dirt to a planet like the 500 worlds. Guilliman was born into a Civilization, Fulgrim brought Civilization to his planet from essentially nothing but Mining. (He started his Journey to ruler from a Humble Miner). Now throughout the Great Crusade he is mentored by Horus and has to deal with having the smallest Legion, smaller than the Thousand Sons, but also having to match the greatest of the Legions, the Luna Wolves. By the battle of Isstavan the compared to the Luna Wolves the Emperor's Children led by Saul Tarvitz are running circles around everyone until a Titan is fielded and Orbital strikes starts. The Emperor's Children are not only masters of combat but master of maneuver and tactics. Yet throughout the Heresy, Fulgrim is never wanted for his Tactics, Horus continuely in his presence speaks about the threat of the Ultramarine legion, while Fulgrim thinks: "Nah I'm that guy". In vengeful spirit in the famous passage where Horus claims only Ferrus is his equal in the art of war (Fulgrim's closest friend), note Fulgrim isn't even mentioned (Neither is Pertarabo to be fair) (not that they could hear). Even during the Siege of Terra, Fulgrim leads his legion on basically a "Trust me bro, Abaddon's got this" and then realises "Abaddon doesn't got this" and instantly retreats losing faith not only the war but Horus himself. With the Heresy over he finally has his chance to 1v1 the fabled Guilliman that has been hyped up by basically all his Traitor brothers. During the battle of Thessala he sets up a Trap the sort that shouldn't work on a Primarch with an IQ above 80, only Angron should fall for it, "Single Primarch flagship in Orbit with no Guards" and he then """Retreats""" to where the rest of his entire fleet is waiting to surround, encricle and destroy the Ultramarine fleet. Fulgrim probably didn't expect it to work, but work it did and so he witnesses the Emperor's avenging son, the Tactical genius fall to the most basic of bait traps. How boring and disappointing, so he decides to have a little fun, a Hole in the Emperor's pride is made so a Teleportation assault attack becomes feasible, Hit Guilliman with the "Horus has gone Insane special" will he fall for the same meme tactic your father fell to? Yes in fact, yes the master tactician of the Emperor is going to fall for the same trick as the Emperor. However unlike the Emperor Fulgrim is never in danger from his attacker and slays him with quite easily and quite decisively. In (1) battle you have showed that you are both Tactically superior and The superior fighter but it's so unsatisfying because it was too easy. Think about how disappointing that would be, disappointed in your brother, disappointed in the Imperium, disappointed in your sons, and now even disappointed even in your arch-nemesis, what else is there to so but edge for 10k years when there's nothing in the materium worth doing and you've proven it yourself? TL;DR Fulgrim throughout the Heresy is told "You aren't that guy" in reference to taking on Guilliman and he has always thought "Nah I'd win" and in 1 singular battle you beat him and it wasn't even a hard battle, all you lost was basically the final gift from your father who you hate anyways.
I never had the impression that Guilleman was hyped among his brothers. Surely, everyone could see him pushing weights bad getting shit done by the sheer size of the Ultramar system, but I don't think he had that much prestige. Surely most of it went to Horus and Sanguinius, who everyone liked. But this angle does make sense. It should be clear though that, all Codex Astartes jokes aside, Guilleman does know how to adapt. So if there ever was a rematch between snake boy and gorilla man, I think Gman would get his revenge. edit: Also, I just realized the tables have flipped and Guilleman is the one with the fresh looks and pristine, mosturized skin. @@sparking023 Much as I like Guilliman, I don't see him defeating Fulgrim in any meaningful way. Guilliman is on the back half of his brothers in regards to battle prowess, but makes up for it with his strategic and tactical genius. Fulgrim is both extremely skilled and a ludicrously capable strategic and tactical mind. I view the Emperor's Children as the elite version of the Ultramarines. They have a similar commitment to a diverse and broad range of skills, but take the time to master everything they learn and dedicate themselves to. Basically, everyone knew the next Demon Primarch was Fulgrim. The only thing people didn't know was if it was going to be Chaos or Imperium that got the next Primarch. Though I, along with others, did hold out hope that we would've gotten Peter instead.

You did not have to flash bang me with ‘Throne Worlds’ Koda! My Destiny 2 days are long behind me, I downloaded Warframe about a week ago and am in a much better place.
I feel like a cool direction for them to go with fulgrim in is just that he has been stewing with rage in the warp building up pure excessive wrath. Also maybe the khan might zoom in and save robot gorillaman
Honestly u should include Jaghatai in the honorable mentions, cause decapitating deamon ascended Mortarion at the siege of Terry with having no special warp powers (while 40k G-man only could by channeling Big E's powers) is - while technically not killing him - pretty metal.
Modern Fulgrim looks like he lives for the fight now. All his faces look like he's having a great time on the battlefield, his wings are smaller so he can move around easier, his armour is improved, and everything about him is far more deadly than before, the man is a grade-A lunatic, and I love it. A Slaanesh follower dedicated to excess in murder is already a nightmare to deal with, but a Primarch rebuilt to be a perfect killing machine is a whole other issue entirely. Slaanesh is all about chasing the dragon, and Fulgrim's dragon is killing people (and not even Guilliman is enough), which is a real problem for anyone and everyone.
I really liked this episode! I'm a big fan of everything Slaanesh, so a breakdown of Fulgrim was very much up my alley. I had seen that he had a new model, but seeing the visual difference between new and old, as well as having both be examined from a storytelling perspective was not something I expected to encounter. Excellent work! As much as I would like a 12 hour heresy video, I don't think the time is right. Lets get instead a 6 hour video on the big E himself beforehand!
Welcome back! I'll get back around to this podcast when I'm back at the gym. I have a pre-christmas backlog. This is like, the 3rd thumbnail I've seen for this video though. Gotta love trying to catch people's eyes on this site.
"...edging for thousands of years..." Oh god, Fulgrim spent the last 10,000 years locked in Slaanesh's Goon-Palace and has finally emerged as the Goon King, and his model fits those vibes. Especially some of those faces. Edit: lol, yall made the joke right after I commented. Also, Mortarion 100% gives the worst gift. It's turbo space aids. It's always turbo space aids. Also, you could get a "fridge cam" where you magnet a selection of your favorite drawings to your fridge and just have a camera pan over them while you roll credits and do your outtro.
I wish the Ad Mech or somebody would build a robotic containment suit/body in which the soul of Ferrus Manus could be held within; I could see him existing like how Johann Kraus from the Hellboy comics & I believe he was also depicted in Ron Perlman's Hellboy 2. I would absolutely love to see how he would actually handle returning to a semi-alive state & seeing what rippled out from the battle in which Fulgrim beheaded him & how Horus was defeated yet at the cost of also almost losing Big E.

and the 12H Horse vid, dread it run from it the horse always arrives.
HE STARTED OFF THE YEAR WITH THE OILED UP EPISODE!!!!!!!!
First 10 minutes is just Isyander saying "we'll get to that" on repeat. I'm here for it.
I've been watching you guys since you started. And i'm happy to say that i'm finally able to get the patreon and help out with all the lighting, can't wait to watch the extra episodes
With Slaanesh, the Goon Sesh never ends.
Pancreas No Work reference let's go!
Man you guys make my day, love watching y'all
Lore Idea: Slaany gave it to our favorite sneek to have a worthwhile fight against Guilliman and bring him back until he's satisfied.
You did not have to flash bang me with ‘Throne Worlds’ Koda!
My Destiny 2 days are long behind me,
I downloaded Warframe about a week ago and am in a much better place.
I might be mistaken but I believe that halo behind Fulgrim's head in his 30k model is Slaneesh's symbol. Also I'm so happy you guys are back!!!!
Its been 3 WEEKS!!! Welcome back!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊
35:26 You mean he's going to achieve his ultimate coom and reach Nirvana?
Oh no
The moment guilliman gets the message that fulgrim came and came he jumping on the emperors sword
I’m going to coom guile
Age of apostasy would be awesome
Glad to see you guys again like a late new years gift
I feel like a cool direction for them to go with fulgrim in is just that he has been stewing with rage in the warp building up pure excessive wrath. Also maybe the khan might zoom in and save robot gorillaman
Taya we’re back baby
For the battle of the ages, the age of the Horus Heresy must triumph! We deserve the 12 hour Horus Heresy
We're back, baby!!
at 13:33 if you look at the above his head at the top of his like halo thing there is a symbol for slaanesh. I vote for the age of rebirth
THEY HAFT RETURNED TO BLESS US WITH THE HONOR TO WATCH more of they're truly sublime *ahem* CONTENT!!!
Oh god emperor, the age of apostacy PLEASE, Koda will HATE it!
New year, new debaucheries.
The one that remembers! The Ancient of Rites!!!
Welcome back! I'll get back around to this podcast when I'm back at the gym. I have a pre-christmas backlog.
This is like, the 3rd thumbnail I've seen for this video though. Gotta love trying to catch people's eyes on this site.
(Day 1)
Hexarchy crisis... Imperium Eterna... "The Imperium as it was. The Imperium as it must be. Imperium Eterna."
Best thumbnail change yet 😂
Koda was on the receiving end of the mental flashbangs today...
Fulgrim VS Fulgrim (clone) would be the greatest thing.
I wonder if Furgrim would envy his clone for being chosen over him by his sons.
"...edging for thousands of years..."
Oh god, Fulgrim spent the last 10,000 years locked in Slaanesh's Goon-Palace and has finally emerged as the Goon King, and his model fits those vibes.
Hell nah that thing isn't Fulgrim. Clonegrim has the real soul and he needs to come back rn.
Koda, warframe 1999 gives you a motorcycle and the ability to cosplay jet stream Sam. Do it. Also age of apostasy!
3:30 stellan skarsgard was referred to as "stellar skateboard" for a few years on his wiki page because of "How Did This Get Made" fans consistently updating it that way as an inside joke.
my votes for the age of the horus heresy that would have to be a 12 hour episode (but really the age of strife)
For the presents part, I’d say that it is actually Dorn that gives the worst not Perturabo. Perturabo would be petty and want to be the best present. He would then be butthurt he wasn’t the best present, but it would still be a good one and specifically better than Dorn’s.
Welcome back. Now we return too herald the coming of the 12 HOUR HERESY VIDEO
The true Phoenix died
But it has already been reborn
Their sons now wait for it to return
From the maze it has been caged on
♪At last Fulgrim you have come to me, Abomination.♪
Welcome back, glad to be getting new episodes 😁
Age of Apostacy lads.
Love your level of commitment to the bit by changing outfits.
Age of rebirth sounds interesting!
The most important age is the Horus Heresy. If only someone did a 12 hours video of it
2:14 Come with me citizen
I was NOT expecting a zoolander fulgrim.
Alpha legion
Also we need 12 hr heresy.
Hydra Dominatus
Hydra Dominatus
Y'all released just as I was getting bored at work lovely timing! Happy y'all are back
39:25 Gorilla Man got Yamcha'd
Preferably I'd like to see you guys go in chronological order with the Ages, make a couple months of it!
Also Zoogrim is too fucking good, oh my god we havent heard Koda just die on the show in awhile!
The new fulgrim looks like he's had 10 000 years of slaneshi meth and botox
