Guilliman's true unique gift has always been the incredible power to be a well-adjusted member of society.
True & based
The only Primarch who actually got to live a decent life up until the emperor came along. He was playing a game of Stellaris and was doing a damn fine job and then he randomly got thrown into COD infinite warfare.
@@kieranadamson3224also the only Primarch to have a mom if I remember correctly. Part of the reason Guilliman grew up to be a good person.
Guiliman and Jagathai walked into a bar
They realized its more efficient to make the bar mobile
You forget jhagatai
Any other Marine: "You think you're better than me?"
Ultramarine: "My service record indicates this to be true, yes."
lol 😂😂 facts
The Ultramarines are so practical so efficent that they happen to be the easiest color to paint minatures ..their lore literally extends to real life .. i love it
💯🔥🤩
I mean, it makes sense. Why waste precious time you could spend fighting and dying for the emperor, making it look fancy? Just make all the plates in Ultramarine-blue stamp the sigil of Ultramar on them and call it a day
Well. Them and the Salamanders. You can't beat basic dark green.
I would've guessed Carcharodons or some other grey-clad chapter because... unpainted
Pre heresy Dark Angels are the easiest by far
53:43 That is my absolute favorite thing about Guilliman. 99.99% of the Imperium would be thinking, "The God-Emperor... the God-Emperor... the God-Emperor...." Meanwhile Guilliman is that percentage of a percentage that thinks when troubled, "What would my mom do? What would she say if she was here?"
😂😂😂
Well she was pretty smart
*parents, but yeah. 😂
😊😊😊😊😊
😊
"The Church ate the post office and the trains are run by the navy, goodluck!" has got to be the best quote. Always a joy to listen to you guys.
I mean, is he WRONG?
The Church ate the post office, The trains are run by the navy, the university subsumed the industrial districts, the economy is run by corrupt sychophants and pirates, and our main lighthouses are either literal skeletons screaming into the void or psychic artifacts that attract chaos like a lamp sexually attracts moths.
Welcome to Warhammer 40k.
The Ultramarines are the chapter for people who's fantasy is having a dad who loves them, and a functional family
The Wholesome Marines 😂
Damn shoot me with a shotgun as i'm walking trough the door why don't You ?😂😂😂
Bro swung so hard Khorne is scaroused by that hit damn
Goddammit…😂😭
You know what I’m angry because what you say is true it hit me hard damn lol.
Isyander: I will start with slander.
Brain: Islyander
I so sorry
Other chapters: “What do you have that we don’t? 😡 “
Based marines: Our dad 🗿
Underrated comment 😂
Daddy home for the DA
Dark Angels can now say that they too have a dad now aswell xD
@@leekent3587 >Implying the dark angels would ever willingly share a piece of information

Recruiting with the Ultra Marines is like: “oh, I see you maxed out your PT score, ASVAB and your SAT welcome aboard!” Space Wolves are like “I see you got blindingly drunk, made a bet you could hunt down a Blackmaned wolf in a blinding blizzard, punch it in the face then ride it back here all while naked. And you did. Welcome aboard brother!”
Basically this is exactly why the Wolves of Fenris are also so popular. They are the complete opposite of the Blue Berries.
I could definitely see the space vikings doing that
Tactical Blue Berries
Salamanders recruitment is basically "Ah you enjoyed your lava onsen and fought that huge lizard? Welcome friend!"
lol blueberries
Iron warriors: so this kid threw a mine at me, I shot him in the leg, and he kicked me with it. I like his iron, put the cybernetic on him, and slap that Geneseed in him.
Nightlords: found this little guy hiding in the bushes so well we missed him, until he thought we where out of range. His brother we found In a criminal barage, he survived the game.
Word Bearers: okay in our defense we didn't do that stuff just covered up for it.
1000 Sons: we warped them away from the emperors children, a rubric is a much kinder fate.
Emperors children:.........You use them that way?!
Alpha legion:...... He said he was alpharius.
World Eaters: He won the Pit this was his prize, I am proud.
Uriel Ventras had a good handle on the Codex and I think viewed it like Guilliman intended. That’s what got him in trouble and sent to deal with the Daemonculaba.
Ventris is a good Captain and a cool character, but if you want the ideal, that's Captain Titus.
Actually canon, Guilliman spoke to Ventris personally and gave him the ultimate vindication.
Kodas analogy of court proceedings and policy making with regards to establishing tactics was the most Guilliman thing!
As a newer WH40k fan, nice to see something about the Ultramarines that isn't just meme'ing about how boring they are for an hour straight.
ur lucky i had to live a whole decade and some change to see a video showing love to the Ultramariines.
I know right, the haters of this community have the most borig and repetitive memes.
@@leandrocastello309 ugh it's annoying like i can't even say ultrasmurfs with a grin anymore.
@@thefluffles6384 yeah I'd imagine it would suck for an ultramarine's fan. People tend to enjoy poking fun at things they like. A personal example is I'm a fan of the salamanders. I make plenty of elder children jokes. But unfortunately for the ultramarines the haters take the jokes and run them into the dirt.
@@hithropyro9051the funny part about the salamanders and aeldar children jokes is that I can totally imagine the salamanders actually adopting the children after incinerating their parents and homes
Looks like the Ultramarines luck finally prevailed again.
Itz all tsankz to the boiz
If by luck, you mean they are second best at everything, bad at nothing and have 1 million ways to exploit the weaknesses in other foes, while controlling the primarus gene stock and outnumbering everyone else 4 to 1…. Well you got me.
Hating on ultramarine’s is the 40 K equivalent of an emo phase. You do it because the cool kids do and you don’t know why. They do it because they secretly wish they were Legion. We’re as good as the ultramarines….
But once you’re a veteran and you realize the ultra marines are the glue and your chapter or legion is free to be icing on the cake… you recognize them for what they are. The greatest mass force in the galaxy.
@@The_0G_ChadI found the Ultramarine fan everyone.
The Imperium would have gone to shit without the Ultramarine
@@The_0G_Chad They are the starter set. The baseline. The first ones. The one to which all others are balanced against. Think 'Ryu' or 'Mario'. That's a lot of protection. Like it, or hate it. It is no more, or less, than that.
Praise Guillimom for making the king of the Blueberries relatively well-adjusted (compared to his brothers) EDIT: Most of the way through the video and you guys are just great keep on hyper focusing I'm here for all of it
Guillidad too... Pity he died soon
@joseestevezhernandez558 Connor was a gem of a man, but I'd argue that a decent father figure isn't as rare as a good mother figure.
@@jedediahcoulbourne1791 agreed...
@@jedediahcoulbourne1791Actually a missing or bad father figure is a correlate for many poor outcomes later in life.
The thing with the Codex if I remember right is that Gulliman wrote it as a general guideline and just as it was being rolled out, he did wargames where he was the side running AGAINST the Codex he wrote to prove that it is not infallible. He wrote the single best pieces of combat literature ever concieved and implemented, told the Astartes forces to learn them and then beat them in spite of it to prove a point.
I'm just giddy with the idea of Roboute and Lion meeting up because they last part on not very good terms. Both of them seem to have been mellowed or tempered a bit. So I just imagine Roboute waiting for Lion in just normal clothing, with some tea and biscuits, hoping against hope that Lion won't punch him in the face the first thing.
And maybe hope for a hug. Or even just a firm handshake. But the boy needs a hug. Both of them do, really.
Well, given the fact that the Lion was acting like he was about to cry when finding out Guilleman was alive, I think it will be the latter...
Now, finding out he's probably going to get a Xeno for a sister in law different story😂😂😂
Your guys are adorably wholesome. The bit at the end where Koda calls out Isyander for always rolling a human adjacent character in D&D is priceless.
That had me cracking up, too funny.
😅😅😅
😅😅
😅😅
A D&D party with no humans it rootless and uncontextualized 😎
I'm so Ultrahappy that we are finally getting the Ultraepisode for the Ultramarines. Also...I fully believe that everybody on earth has at least SEEN an Ultramarine at least once in something.
Wolf! Oh, wait, wrong legion.
Nepalese peasants seeing ultramarines for the first time
I'm frayed knot, the first marines I've ever had knowledge about was the salamanders only learned about the ultra marines when i started diving deeper into 40k
This is why I love Maleum Caedo, from Boltgun. Man is insane in the best ultramarine way
Mmmmmh, I've seen better. (I, Cato Sicarius, am better)
He also still takes time after each fight to read through his pocket edition of the codex
Pleeeeease consider doing a piece like this on Corvus Corvax and the Ravenguard. I promise you, they're slept on af.
Some REAL juicy Corvus moments in some of the Lorgar/Wordbearer books. Who doesn't love a giant lightning-crow-warp-entity thing hellbent on bullying the ever-living shit out of our favorite bald Traitor?
There's also quite a fair bit to tuck into when it comes to Istvan. Even some speculation about possible unconfirmed successor chapters too 👀
I 100% support this notion. Hail Corax!
I saw a fun UA-cam comment that described Ravenguard as 'like Salamanders, but they're aware of the universe they live in.'
He's reminding Lorgar that a group of ravens is an 'unkindness' and a group of crows is a 'murder', and he's both.
I want to see Ciaphas Cain, Hero of the Imperium.
Ci Ci ciaphas Cain hero of the imperium
Ciaphis and Ibram please
@@harapecopeco Don't forget Yarrick
I'm glad you guys are rising stars in the 40K community and you used guru for the party pooper song. Takakana101 (voice of guru) is a huge 40K fan and even had some speaking roles in "if the emperor had a text to speech"
OMG I thought that Inquisitor sounded familiar!
His Ciaphas Cain was great.
Don't forget Santodes
Honestly discovering a franchise with 10+ years of lore was a gift. And then I found these two, which made it easier, and that's the REAL gift.
If I remembered correctly, Guilliman might’ve name dropped von Clausewitz in "Know no fear", the space book might actually have a bit of Art of War and On War into it.
Also, Heroes of the Imperium are waiting
I would love a custodian video. Keep up the good work you guys, love your vids!
Please I need it

I, Cato Sicarius, am for one glad that the best and greatest faction won the vote! Because I, Cato Sicarius of course am part of the Ultra-Marines, and as everyone knows, I, Cato Sicarius, am the greatest swordsman in the universe! I, Cato Sicarius will take my, Cato Sicarius' leave now.
I want him to talk about Ventris
I almost spit may drink reding this
I want to cast Fist ...
You are clearly an imposter,The real Cato Sucarius would always list his many titles alongside his name.
What I wouldn’t give for current canon PTSD’d Cato to meet, like, a meme version of his younger self
Gah damn that ending Koda, thank you so much. I was in tears watching Isyander just sit there with the look of "Fuck" on his face when you went over his first 3 D&D characters haha.
The Blueberries are my second favorite Legion.
My favorite legion and the legion that got me into WarHammer to begin with, is the Blood Angels. Sanguinius just embodies everything I see in a Demi-God. He does not flaunt his power, he does not make other question themselves. He lifts them up, helps them become who they were meant to be. The Siege of Terra novels are just so damn good because they show the glorious Hawkboi standing between certain death and the destruction of Humanity. His speech to everyone was just so damn perfect.
If he were alive with Rubberboot Gorillaglue, shit would be going down on a scale unseen. I would love to see Rigatoni Guacamoli and Sanguinius have a conversation in the modern era. Doesn't have to mean Hawkboi is back or alive. Just like a vision of sorts. Lets say hypothetically Rhubarb GriddleCakes is having an existential crisis and for what ever reason can't figure out what to do and is freaking the ever loving F out. Pops in a vision of Sanguinius, for a brief moment time stops and Renovator Gladiator sees him staring back at him. For a moment he things this is a warp trick but Sanguinius says something that only He, Lion and Sanguinius would know thus instantly gaining his confidence. Sanguinius puts a hand on his brothers shoulder and looks him dead in the eyes and says "Brother, you are the smartest of us all. I know you will figure this out, just like you figured out how to overcome everything that came prior. I am proud of you brother, Humanity is safe in your caring hands." Some shit like that, minus of course all my fun pokes at Gmans name.
My main class in D&D is Paladin so have two damn near perfect choices to choose from when it comes to that via the Blood Angels and Ultra Marines just makes me love them both. Blood Angels because they are a Darker version of a Paladin. They made their oaths and will keep them always but harbor some deep dark secret.
Renovator Gladiator 😆 (it sounds hard though) And reminded of a Fan story setting where Gman got Chosen as the Emperor Lion.
Iysander is so excited for this episode. You know he was praying like: “Oh please let my favorite blue boys win. I have been ever so good.”
Stop! 🤣
I think that the red is the "fast color" because it acts with a "red herring" effect against the background of gray and green in orkish movements.
A red moving thing will catch your eye even if there are faster gray thing moving near it.
And, when the red thing becomes actually faster, this generates a positive feedback.
That and the fact that "red ones go faster" is a pretty common phrase among car aficionados in the UK lol.
@@PumpkinHoard , I didn't know that thing about red racing cars... Do this have to do with ferraris being red?
I knew about black computers working better than the white or beige ones... Must work the same way.
Isyander is so happy right now. I love it.
It USED to be the Blood Angels, back in 2nd edition. They literally came in the 40k box. Miss that.
Wow 😳
Koda is THAT GUY™ who makes fun of you for playing only humans, but only ever plays tiefling.
I don't care how cliche it is, this is my favorite legion. 😊
Nothing wrong with it. They get shit done
Nothing cliche about loving Space Romans. Space Romans are tight.
I gonna save this video for work tomorrow, but I’m incredibly happy to know I’m going to hear about the boys in blue despite… knowing most of it already.
I like hearing people talk about subjects I like, alright?
Same, thousand sons are that for me, might have missed something right?
That's pretty much how I go into these. I know like 90% of the stuff they talk about but their delivery is just so entertaining.Reminds me a lot of the nerd out sessions my buddies and I have when we start talking about this stuff.
As a big chaos and Peter turbo fan I really love the ultramarines and robo boy, because of just how smart they are, and of course their new lore is so good
I am in the middle of my second year of medical school preparing for boards. I didn't expect encouragement from a Warhammer video, but I will take any W's I can get right now. The struggle is real.
Finally, our requests have been answered! Ultramarine episode!
hi from canada, I cast my vote to the heros of the imperium but I also would love a custodes episodes.
i kinda wish we had dragged that out for the ultramarines, but its also just awesome to see Isyander with the raw energy that can only come from a true fans desire
50:56 I dont know why but the phrase, "The church ate post office, and the trains are run by the navy." Is fucking hilarious.
"It just works" and "Functional" are superpowers. Yes!
this is the only podcast i actually really enjoy listening to!
The relationship between you two is incredible. The emperor would be proud of the work you two librarians are doing. You should celebrate the heroes of the empire next
The DBZA reference took me out 😂 you guys deserve every bit of success with this channel and more
I am a simple man I see a TFS reference, I like the comment/ video.
Also the fact that it was Super Kami Guru ™ another powerful magical despot stuck on a throne who also has a legacy of genocide (RIP albino namekians) and fucking with his "Chosen" one 😂😂😂
Ci Ci Ciaphus Cain, hero of the imperium!
it is funny because I discovered salamanders first. so I think of space marines as green.
My first space marine was a Crimson Fist, so those ones pop into my head first
I discovered the 40K universe with the Dawn of War games 15 years ago so for me the default Space Marine was a Blood Raven and that for years (my strong interest in the 40K universe lore is very recent (1-2 years))
Even if since then I have fallen in admiration with the Salaamenders which have become my favorite
Funnily enough, when you were talking about how Guiliman wrote down his strategies and all for his sons/warriors to utilize, he ran into an identical problem that Zhuge Liang (greatest strategist of the 3 Kingdoms Era) had with his own protege - they couldn't see past the paper.
Ok. That's it. You guys win. I sincerely enjoy every warhammer 40k video the two of you put out. I think I'm about to hit up their patreon. You two deserve it.
The ultramarines have always been my favorite chapter/legion not only for personal reasons like having the same color schemes as my high school but also in a universe with a multitude of different horrors versatility is the best ability no other legion pays more homage to the Roman Empire then they do and 10th edition has done them justice in showing their not just plot armour but competent fighters even in the face of grim dark situations .Also guilliman =the Optimus prime of the primarchs he’s not the strongest , fastest or even the most hax in abilities but he’s arguably the best tactician and the best primarch to lead the imperuim because of his logistical and organizational skills.
"even the most hax" - Correction, he has NO hax whatsoever and that's what makes his fights all that much more meaningful.
Well well well, looks like the Orks beliefs of blue being the lucky colour is true after all
ya know isyander loving efficiency so much might just be why this channel has such a good upload record and has grown so much
I know you both are super into the 40K universe, and sci-fi based on the Warframe podcast I saw a bit ago, but hearing you both play D&D really makes me want to hear about those stories too! Or just general cannon lore about it all if it could be put into a entertaining jacket!
HE FINLAY GOT HIS ULTRA MARIN EPISODE
Not gonna lie, all the extra info I got on Guilliman's quirks, and how that's causing some amount of friction with the rest of his chapter makes me curious enough to wanna delve deeper into them.
Means y'all did a great job! Thanks for the episode, guys!
This channel has honestly become my favorite to watch the fun banter and story telling is so good in every episode i find myself binging evey podcast multiple times. Thank you for dedicating the time to put out banger after banger every week and giving everyone something to look forward to
When it comes to the codex, I’ve always thought of the more sensible chapters looking at it along the lines of “this is the foundation, it will get you a good way through the war, but 60% of the plan at most.”
Apparently there is a part of the codex that distills to...when this codex doesn't give the answer, make up the answer based off the codex rules.
My only problem is the 1000 cap for the chapters, that's just too low a number of soldiers for them to be effective against the eldritch horrors they have to battle against. A cap of 3000 marines would be the most sensible approach in my opinion.
My Vote is for ... Ci-ci-ciphas Cain, Hero of the Imperium!
Heros of the imperium. Make this Florida bous dresms come true
52:50 I like to imagine after he says "Was Logar right?" then has a flashback of when the Emperor told him to sack his holiest city after he told the Word Bearers he wasn't a god
I'd love to see some more on some of the Craftworlds and technology of the Eldar. They sound like, lore-wise at the moment, they deserve some decent attention.
YEAH, BLUEBOYS
ALSO I BE OUT HERE WANTING TO LEARN ABOUT THE FREAKING HEROES OF THE IMPERIUM
Again, I pray that the Blood Ravens stall have their chance 🙏
The Blood Ravens will steal their chance just like they stole my punctuation
@@IllithaYour punctuation was gifted to them in a ceremonial exchange of grammar in M. 35. 991. :p That you have no record of this, well, that is your fault for shoddy record keeping.
loved Koda at the end just laying into Isyander's DnD choices lol
Hey guys! I found your channel thanks to another youtuber who introduced me to 40K, Bricky. I started binge watching your videos and they are all amazing.
Thanks for the medstudent shoutout! I certainly do see myself as an ultramarine as I'm a registred nurse doing medschool, while working out 20+hrs a week for my boxing bouts, while managing social and loving relationship. certainly is draining, but mega worth it!
Keep up the good work!
Keep up the incredible work you two!
Heros of the imperium since Cain is apparently funny
Hearing Isyander talk about the ultra marines...I wanna be an ultra marine...I wanna just be stable in all of life
Only Isyander & Koda could get me to listen to an hour of Ultramarines.
Hell yes, perfect timing for my drive home. You guys have a great channel.
Lionel Johnson was a poet who wrote “The Dark Angel”
and Konrad is a VERY normal name. however in my experience it’s spelled with a C typically
"they say he even consults the codex astartes before he mounts the missus, to ensure he performs IN AN ORDERLY PROFICIENT MILITARY MANNER"
bonus points if you know where this joke comes from.
I would love love LOVE to hear dnd stories or for you guys to have a podcast episode about dnd
Isyander finally got his wish
I really want to see the Heroes of the Imperium because not only do I share my name with Sebastian Yarrick, he’s also my favorite character in the setting … even though he’s probably super mega dead now
When everyone does the right thing over and over again we can do this. FOR THE EMPEROR and his loyal guards
Isyander and Koda's voices scratch a certain part of my brain in such a fantastic way
Sly Marbo would like to sneak into the voting pool.
CAIPHUS CAIN HERO OF THE IMPERIUM
In my mind, Guilliman is considered the funny one. More than anything I want a scene of Leman Russ pounding on the table, tears in his eyes laughing trying to relate a joke... "And then.. and then he said; "No, father.... Tis but the rain.' Can you imagine?! I almost died laughing!"
really cute seeing the closeness between you two at the end
i think R. Guilliman was the best choise for the imperium for a primatch return . this man even tho wasnt ever my fav one he is the most well rounded primarchs . one of the Best Strategist amazing with planning and logistics a great politician (they needed one) his not just good with tactics and strategy it is said you cant use the same tactics twice to beat R.G. he can adapt to any situation and we have seen him be logical like in general not like his brothers.
Guilliman is a true Roman. Taking good ideas and passing them off as your own.
P.s do heroes of the Imperium.
Nah, he does give credit.
"The Church ate the Post Office, and the Trains are run by the Navy."
What a perfect summary.
“This is betrayal of the highest order.”
the ultramarines are cool and all, but do you know what's cooler than space nerds, chad Mongols on speedbikes
For the Khan!
Well Isyander is finally happy ig, althought we couldve dragged it a bit further to tease him
Anyways voting for the inquisition cuz i dont want this podcast to get REDACTED out of spite
Are you guys good? Thought we were going to see a new video on Saturday. You guys are one of the highlights of my week.
One of my favorite Guilliman scenes was when he cried after his iPad, which had belonged to his mortal dad and was a relic from the Dark Age of Technology, was broken by Alpha Legion agents, and his mortal mom was with him and correctly accessed that it was just the final straw because Guilliman was having a rough time, his best brother betrayed him, his planets were under attack, he lost contact with Terra and can't even tell if the Emperor is still alive, his home got broken into by Alpha Legion spies and now he lost an irreplaceable relic from his and humanity's past.
Guilliman is in fact the most human in the way he is portrayed.
YAY ULTRAMARINES I'd like to thank me and all my ultramarine friends for voting and I hope Isyander is super happy
I refuse to believe the ultramarines won any poll
You mentioning that Guilliman has the most normal name made me chuckle. When I first got into WH40K, I thought Lion El'jonson was Lionel Johnson because I just never saw the name written down for months. It was so startling to have names like Guilliman and Lorgar and then... Lionel. It became less jarring once i realized his name is Lion El'Jonson. Only then did his name seem normal haha
It was tough choosing a favorite Primarch until I found out Guilliman was a mama's boy
Its shocking how they understand that having a sterile environment for surgical operations is the standard compared to every where else in the emperium
I was not expecting to hear a tfs quote out of nowhere. Thank you for catching me off guard with that.
Yinz guys rock!! Your vids are like cold ice tea on a hot day... Refreshing!!
"The Church ate the Post Office and the trains are run by the Navy. Good luck!"
I'm using that from now on to describe an absolute clustercluck of a managerial nightmare.
Really nice as always
this channel grew so fast, good for them
This is so good i watched it about 9 times now.
This all makes sense. I really like the Ultramarines, I always pick a human warrior and I rarely do much customisation to the default characters looks outside of hair and outfit
