I love this song. I remember playing this in my car while in college and blasting it as loud as I could heading home for the weekend. It's funny how songs bring back memories you've tucked away for decades.
Has there been as talented a songwriter , musician ( blues , jazz , classical , bluegrass , hard and soft rock , pop ? ) I think not --- the early stuff and obscure for many who only know his " hits" is selling oneself VERY VERY short - dive deep into the well of artistry that was the ouevre of Dan Folgeberg - true artist . Not even in the Songwriters Hall of Fame - how is that even possible ?
I am 65 now and was playing most of his songs as they came out this was always a favorite he inspired me to get a 12 string and I still have one to this day. I started playing at 14.
It's cool that it was common for Dan to throw some additional intro to songs to kind of blend it all together.Such a cool idea really.Dan was an exceptional musician.
One listen, and you know you are in the presence of a BLAZING, HEAVENLY TALENT! Thanks to the musical gods, for letting us barrow this musical genius, even if it could never be longer then.....or nearly enough. Such skill and virtuosity, you still gut me like a fish. WOW. ❤️
He goes with me on my trips to Virginia. I listen to his music the whole way. It gets the muck and mire of life off of me and brings me back to peace and contentment. Listening to him is really like being in another world, if only for a while.
Pure raw talent and truly unprecedented in music history you rarely see this amazing ability in a lifetime and he is sorely missed! I should know as being almost the same age
But it's still nice to get the rawness of a live performance, especially for those of us who never got to hear him perform live. (What was wrong with me, anyway??? 🙄)
I've been listening and re-listening to Dan Fogelberg for a couple of days now...both so many old favorites as well as some that are totally new-to-me. Am truly curious why this CountryRock2U recording, 10/26/97, is so bad Loved his instrumental work, evenso, but the overall sound is truly distracting. 5/29/21 now.

In memory of Dan. This is the best version of Part Of The Plan
Yes it was the intro takes the entire song to another level. Outstanding.
The most beautiful voice I've ever heard! He was called to sing with the angels!
Miss him dearly!!!!!!

Dan comes through my speakers everytime I travel for more than an hour. He still makes life tolerable for me.

My favorite song from his catalog. What a talent! RIP
He was such a talent! So sad that he's no longer around. 😢
I've loved Dan Fogelberg for YEARS! His music got me through my late teens! So sadly missed. Thank you, Dan
My Heart is Touched........My Senses are aroused........
MUSICAL PASSION IS CARRIED ON LIKE THE CHAMPION WARRIOR
....GOD CREATED !!!!

Will never get tired of hearing him sing As the Raven Flies!
Souvenirs and Captured Angel are my favorite Dan albums. Great talent.
We were at this concert and it was AMAZING to see/hear him in Peoria-his hometown, where we lived at the time. One of my favorites and gone too soon.
love Dan--so talented--so missed....
Ditto!

I was 17 thirty six years ago. This was a favorite song that year.
Dan narrated my life. Loved and miss him so. There was nothing better in the world then to see him perform live. Love sent to all his fans.
This Man is amazing
Just lost my love of 46 years to cancer; Dan was a big part of our love affair I hope she meets him in heaven!
May you meet them both again some day.
Why did he leave us so early? One day, we'll all understand.
All of the answers can simply be found in dreams that we dream along the way! ♥️♥️♥️
He is always that star when your lost. I will keep climbing till we meet one day.
What a beautiful sentiment. Thank you.

Man. He was so good
Huge lover of his music. He looks like he was having a blast playing this.
What an artist! This man is the real deal. Too bad he never came to Holland and I never got to see him perform live. That would have been a treat.

Janis - thank you so much for introducing me to this musical genius.
I wish I'd kept all the ticket stubs from Dan's concerts. But I was very likely at this concert. I didn't miss many in Peoria.
Thanks for sharing - Can never get enough Dan!
I play his music when on the road to the Virginia mtns. He always makes life better and tolerable.
AMAZING!
Dan ♥♥♥
WOW! Thank you for posting
Wonderful!!
Miss you Dan.
❤️
❤❤❤❤❤
Brill'...no words
Fogelberg and a 12-string-what more does anyone need?
He was also a very good pianist....
Not much else!
melancholy intro.
I was here...
Was it at the Civic Center?
Great camera work.
15 years ago last year? Seems impossible he's been gone that long.
My favorite all-time singers, the only problem with the video the sounds terrible doesn't do any justice to mister Fogelberg
