Would you like to see something similar where we analyze and rank various types of characters? (Sidekicks, Minor Antagonists) Also let me know who is your all time favorite antagonist from the franchise
I'm glad Jimmy Hernandez wasn't on the list, cause i personelly never thought he was a villain. He was a genuine cop who wanted to do good for Los Santos and not manipulate it like Pulaski and Tenpenny. It's just unfortunate that his character was never expanded on in the actual game. He has only one single instance in which he was talking, which was during the phone call at the beginning of the game. In The Introduction we luckily get a pretty deep dive into his character and looking at all the information about him makes Jimmy Hernandez a bit of a tragic character.
You know, it's a shame rockstar never made something like San Andreas' "Introduction" movie again for the upcoming games. That one alone expands the lore so much more beyond the base game.
Yeah he is tragic and he is manipulated and played by Tenpenny but he is also a bit too naive for the police world, as Tenpenny points out in the beginning.
Hard disagree on Billy, he was one of the most entertaining villains of the series, I actually like him more as a character than Johny, and the way he goes out is very chilling. Steve Haines along with Davin Weston (and that Chinese boss that is almost a non-character) are not threatening in one bit and just annoying. The rest I mostly agree with. Though I'd still put Tenpenny on the first place for his charisma, connection with Carl and the events of the game and of course for the stellar performance of SLJ.
Ryder wasn't supposed to betrayed CJ and Sweet. It was only Big Smoke, I look at GTA Forums, and he only has 2 lines in Pier 69 : "C... Can't stop me...." And "I'm a motherfucking genius!" It looks like the first line that Ryder said, Ryder might supposed to died in Green Sabre when fighting Ballas
Considering how I never played CW, (and likely never will) i can't fully relate to your points on Kenny, although he does sound like a dangerous manipulator. i agree about your point regarding Vincenzo being the main antagonist instead of Torini, but the problem is, that Vincenzo does appear to be genuinely loyal to Salvatore and his betrayal of Toni was to prevent him from taking Vincenzo's position. To screw Salvatore over would mean that he doesn't care about his approval, which he does appear to, to an extent. Perhaps i'm wrong. About Smoke and Ryder, despite the signs of betrayal from Smoke, the betrayal still greatly saddened many players, including myself. I think Smoke's lack of apperance makes sense, as CJ is exiled from Los Santos. However, CJ should've had more missions against Smoke after his return and the resurrection of the Grove Street Families. Additionally, I think Tenpenny is more evil than Dimitri. His charges alone solidified that opinion of mine on him. He's evil, has no heart, and almost burned Los Santos to the ground because of his betrayal of the system, which he shrugged off as hs duty. Dimitri is a great antagonist, but to me, Tenpenny is more evil. Dimitri at least has more tact and is actually capable of hiding his emotions, while Tenpenny savors every moment of extorting Carl. Overall, I like your list.
You do raise a few good points, and I agree with you. Although I think Vincenzo would probably take any chance that could guarantee him taking Salvatore's place as the boss, so a betrayal isn't that far fetched imo. As for Dimitri, he didn't cause as much mayhem in Liberty City as opposed to Tenpenny's actions that resulted in an entire city riot, sure. But from a protagonist-antagonist dynamic, I feel like Dimitri plays a lot of mind games with Niko and is trying to sabotage him in every way possible, which to me makes him number one. Glad you liked the video!
@@H0rHe Maybe you’re right about Vincenzo. I don’t know. As for Dimitri, well, Tenpenny also plays with CJ and he hassles him from quite literally the first moment he appears on the screen. Dimitri has more tact, like I said and tries to paint himself as a trustworthy individual. You get a glimpse of how corrupt Tenpenny is right away, and it starts to get even worse overtime. I guess that in a way, Tenpenny does sabotage CJ, too, because he continues to step on him even after destroying his gang (which CJ would surely want revenge for) and uses Sweet as leverage. He’s so dangerous as a police officer that even after his ties to the Ballas and the crack epidemic are revealed, he’s still able to coerce CJ into doing hits for him. I don’t remember a GTA antagonist manipulating the protagonist after screwing them like this (apart from Martinez and Haines, maybe).
you just made me realize san andreas (before 5) was the only gta that had a soundtrack/ song playing in cutscenes. (tenpenny theme song) literally all we had for a soundtrack was an ingame raido.
the game has like 5 songs and a theme song, you just don't notice them, big smoke has a theme, ryder has a theme, sweet has a theme song. only that sweet's theme doesn't exclusively play in his own cutscenes.
How in the world did you forget Donald Love. He’s the only gta character to ever be categorized as pure evil via the wiki site, and has done and is responsible for the worst things ever in the series
This list consisted of only the main villains (the protagonist's rival basically). I plan to make another video with other villains or just evil characters you work for in the GTA games.
You have 1k subs? It felt like I was watching a 200k channel. My only ‘criticism’ is that maybe you should slow your voice down a little. Try to speak ever so slightly slower. I really liked the content and the length of the video, and I felt your rankings were fair and balanced, especially the ranking of Vincenzo.
Yeah, that was one of my main concerns with the videos, but I think it's gotten a bit better now. It's kind of in my nature to talk at a faster pace so I'm working on it with every voiceover. And thank you for the kind comment, I love making these videos!
@@H0rHe yes. Not sure why people always rank LCS and GTA SA so highly when their characters were sort of poor in many regards. It was brave to say this.

@@youcefsiouda Franklin exactly feels rushed like nowadays black characters appear out of thin air to satisfy the community for awards for the game lol , Franklin had potential to be the next CJ but completely rushed his character development, even his first appearance is just some NPC walking
I meant well written in the story, as in after Green Sabre we don't see or hear from him until the very last mission, and that detracts a lot from his character. He is much better than many other villains on the list, he just lacks a lot implication and presence in the story.
Peggy should've been in this list too because he was a significant villain as well. Hes super stupid though and a joke so id put him at E. Also, Billy needs to be way higher. The game itself sucks but Billy was a grade A sociopath.
Billy Grey was much more well written than Steve Haines and any other GTA V character for that matter. Man is just modern Dutch Van Der Linde and where Steve is just a corrupt asshole, Billy always appeared to me as a broken man far gone from the point of return.
I agree with you, I just wish we saw more of him and his dynamic with Johnny. I can also see the similarities between him and Dutch, and the similarities between The Lost and the Van der Lindes. That might've been intentional.
He's not the main villain of VC so I didn't include him along with many others, but I plan to make another video ranking all side antagonists, including Diaz as well.

Funny enough there was a rewritten story of San Andreas that makes makes Ryder not betray them.
