      NatterNet Buckethead I love the Big B but he plays what ever falls into his mind. And that’s pretty hard to keep people interested, when every other album is completely different and imho unlistenable. I got into him thru his work with G’n’R’s and quickly bought loads of his material but soon got burnt out and and obviously disliked some of my purchases. I think it’s better that he just puts out everything he records but as a buyer/listener, you gotta pre listen to his works.

    Massive buckethead fan... And I think it's pretty amazing how he uses these older effects which guitar forum snobs would never use, yet because he's buckethead he uses them in incredible ways. I know of basically no one that uses the hyper fuzz and yet... Buckethead does. It's a good wake up call to the gear heads which I unfortunately sometimes fall into, thinking that next piece of gear will help me be better.

    • @urbanrhinoceros9828
      @urbanrhinoceros9828 3 роки тому +2

      The hyper fuzz is the most sought after pedal in the doom scene. Made popular by like electric wizard and monolord almost every doom fiend is looking for the Fz-2 or the SF300 clone! Fun fact

    • @alexmurphy5289
      @alexmurphy5289 3 роки тому

      Urban Rhinoceros Yeah 10 months ago I didn’t know too much about fuzzes admittedly but I still wouldn’t say its a popular fuzz pedal, hence why it’s so expensive on the used market

    Always been and still is one of the biggest influence in my musician life. The guy created a unique character when he was a teenager, including a back story, and never stopped bringing it to life by writting and releasing new albums every year ever since (65 albums/EPs since 1994, including 8 years in between the first and 2nd album... meaning 64 albums in 18 years). This is crazy! Even though many would argue that a lot of his stuff sound similar, with similar riffs and licks... but these are still different passages of his musical soul, and to me, they all bind together like one big infinite masterpiece. Brilliant!

      On another note, do you have any idea how the Buckethead Pikes.com works as far as some of the Pikes not being available right now? For example, I’m interested in 43 & 76 and they are currently unavailable and have been for a while. Just wondering if you can shed some light on it. Thanks as always.

    • @NatterNet

      Yeah 43 & 78 were ones written after his parents passing (spoke about in this vid ua-cam.com/video/6OtvI0-O2sw/v-deo.html) which came out with no track titles, image or name, so I think he probably wanted to keep it to a low number. damn, those Alesis rack units are very cheap but have defined the sounds of so many influential artists! Daft Punk forged their sound with the Alesis 3630 stereo compressor rack (which oddly enough looks very similar to the midiverb Bucket uses) and we all know how their careers went

    Beringer Super Fuzz is a cheap clone of the Boss Hyper Fuzz that is totally worth getting. It's like $25. Seriously, and it sounds great, and you can do one of those things where you set the switch between two of the settings to get both at once. I love stuff like that, tweaking gear to get unintended tones the manufacturer never even thought of.

      At that time, most likely the Roland se-50 mentioned in the later part of the vid, using the same technique as he did with the Rocktron and that quote about "stacking up minor seconds"...it can also be replicated using older zoom pedals like the 505 which had a keyboard like preset.
