I saw Buckethead playing with Primus at Ozzfest back in '99 and had no idea who the fuck I was seeing up there flinging them chuckas around while they played the bass solo at the end of My Name Is Mud. I ate some boomers that day and I was far stage left at Alpine Valley and I swore I did not see him wearing that bucket and mask. One of the greatest guitarists of our generation, too bad most people dont even know about him. the stint with Guns and Roses tarnished it a little in my opinion. I rank him up there innovation wise with Morello and the other guitarists that think outside of the box like Bootsy Collins, Hendrix etc. Oh, P.S., I would sell a testicle for that guitar.
You have an interestingly strong dislike for buckethead to where you fester on one video of him just to act like some sort of critic. You have a right to an opinion, but remember that nobody always wants to hear it.

***** I was picking a good mix of my favorite songs in addition to stuff from all over his discography that would accurately represent what hes all about. If you're talking doing full albums live with a full band, it would be epic to see the Population Override and Pike 13 albums in their entirety. My friends dad said when he saw Pink Floyd in '78, they did 3 sets, each one a full album. So performing multiple full albums per show with a full band is doable. And i could scarcely imagine the number of faces melted and buildings demolished in the process.
+Jonathan Sefcik They did two complete sets. First was "wish you were here" complete, start to finish. Small break and then played "Animals" complete, start to finish. They then came back for the encore and played three songs from "Dark side of the moon".
This guy is truly an amazing experimenter of his craft. He goes places that others just don't either dare tread or simply don't know how to. Besides making it look so effortlessly he gets sounds others don't. He is identifiable immediately once you hear the licks on the guitar, you say " yup, that's Buckethead!" Not many guitarists have that, the identifiable sound that only they have. Genius... I wish I had taken up an instrument years and years ago. My mother did give me that opportunity. She took both myself and my older sister to this music school on Saturdays. It was a very serious place. The first hour we spent on music theory then the remainder of the time we separated into our class rooms for our lessons with our instructor for whatever instrument you were studying. I was taking guitar lessons, I was young maybe eleven, no older. All I recall was being very unhappy with this whole place. The structure, the way it felt to me was very stressful. Like I was under immense pressure to do the work. I crumbled, I remember one time actually crying when I was with my guitar teacher. I think it was because I hadn't practice what I was supposed to have practice and I was s upset. So eventually I recall not going back. In retrospect, I wish someone had forced me to stay with it no matter what. My mom had got me via the school a very impressive acoustic guitar from Spain. It was an amazing guitar. I wish I still had that instrument. I can't recall the beans but I'm sure it would be very valuable today. My sister was given a piano, one of those wall leaning models it was a Steinway piano. I don't know how my mom made all this possible for us. We were very poor. We lived in the housing projects in Newark NJ. One of the absolute worse in the country at the time, Kretchmer Housing Projects, locally known as the Dayton Street Projects.. Anyway Mom gave us this chance and neither of stuck it out. This is perhaps one of my greatest regrets. I truly believe if I had stuck with it, I would have made music my life's work. I love music intensely and I have an acute ear for it. People say it's never too late but the thing is all those many many years that have flown by would have, could have been years of mastering, honing the craft. Anyway, sorry for going off on a tangent, just felt the need to express this which I never have before in my life. If anyone can relate or have anything to convey please do so. I'd truly appreciate it...

20:06 "HERE ARE THE EDIBLES!!!"
Holy shit
You're an animal
Shut up man no one heard
I thought she said “spirit animals!” But you’re right
One of the greatest guitarists of our generation, too bad most people dont even know about him. the stint with Guns and Roses tarnished it a little in my opinion. I rank him up there innovation wise with Morello and the other guitarists that think outside of the box like Bootsy Collins, Hendrix etc. Oh, P.S., I would sell a testicle for that guitar.
His stint with GNR is the only reason I ever heard of him. He's a damn good guitarist.
That Rose fellow has chased off a few musicians from his franchise. Buckethead should have steered wide.
" too bad most people dont even know about him." Gee, I wonder why
You have an interestingly strong dislike for buckethead to where you fester on one video of him just to act like some sort of critic. You have a right to an opinion, but remember that nobody always wants to hear it.
Frankincensed Because Buckethead is a recluse..
I've only seen 1 photo of his face & it wasn't anything to shout about.
Love his sense of humor, his music gives me eargasms!
Man's a whole package himself!!! What an artist!!! Glad that I found him!!!
I've got an 8 gig flash drive filled with his music that i listen to in the car. I drive 200K's per day to and from work, so hear a good amount of this phenom every fucking day. AND I LOVE IT
Brandon O'Sullivan good luck with all the Pikes !! There are around 270 haha

Definitely one of the most entertaining guitarists to watch. Love that robotic shit. Very cool Sir Buckethead.
Bucket head is such an amazing player definitely up there with some of the best there is, could listen to him all day long.....
he never gets old
DAMN!! Dude knows how to play...
Forever one of the GOATs
This was 8 years ago, and this video quality is better than drama shows
Holy shit that camera is amazing. It's like it's Bucketheads robotic eye put into the crowd and fed into people's memory cards to have vision as crisp and clean as the playing. It's actually scary I'm almost as impressed with the camera quality as Buckets set.
Unique and cool, his technique is great but i love the way he incorporates the effects. Awesome !!
This man is not of this earth. Love listening to him in the background at work. Takes playing way out of the box, love it when artis make something their own.
God bless Mr. Buckethead for his consistent and faithful commitment towards his craft and fans. He is above reproach and his conscience is clear. May his borders increase and his enemies fall down by his side.
8:50 - 10:16 hit me right in the feels bro
… that slow part was COOL!!!…
Sounds like While my guitar gently weeps
Very led zep
@@Goths-On-The-Beach i thought it was based on stairway to heaven

Add in Final Wars and Too Many Humans
Geez. What an impossibly amazing player.
Perfect left hand posture. So jealous.
pebber brown
Yes. The tendons in his left hand must be stronger than cat gut at this point.
This is the best "Embalmer" that I have heard to date.
Cool story bro
That's enough for this week. Please see the receptionist to make your next appointment, and co-pay. Thank you.
Buckethead one of the underrated guitar greats. Total legend.
Absolutely the best, most technical guitarist on earth right now
Check out Berried Alive. Charles Caswell is pretty techy, but definitely not as listenable lol. I dig it though.
Hands down one of the best guitarist of our time!
Please put your hands down I’m trying to watch him play!
Wow, great image quality
Yeh, shame about the audio not having the same / equal quality to the video
tatzor We have the video, someone else has the audio. In the end we all win.

I shot this show if you ever need still images :)
Thanks for this. Really helped me remember this great set/day. Effin Robert Plant too.
Something that has been lacking for decades, UNIQUE BRILLIANCE. Buckethead is UNIQUE BRILLIANCE.
