If you're an owner of a Performance, you can actually get the Long Range's range or better by just swapping the wheels to something smaller and/or lighter. Common choice is T sportline or Martian wheels 19" or 18" wheels. It is also cheaper than 20" + AB so anyone who wants the speed/look it's the better deal for sure. Also the spoiler is a great edge protector for the trunk. Anyone who doesn't mind the acceleration should go for LR.
The long range tires probably have a little more give to them with the Continental’s. The performance with the Perelli’ s are a thinner. But neither of them have the best suspension.
The front calipers are still Brembo but the rears are just a cover unfortunately. I am still happy with the Performance. My Model 3 Performance has the front and rear Brembos. I no longer commute 17 miles each way and now work from home so charging has not been an issue. The long range does have a more comfortable ride though. I swapped my suspension in the Model 3 Performance for Mountain Pass Performance coilovers and it absorbs the bumps better.
I just bought an used 2022 LR. Could have been able to choose a Performance for pretty much the same price but I valued more LR´s EAP and white interior that the Perf didn´t have. We have a MXP Ludicrous so there was no need for MYP´s acceleration as the X is even faster ;)
I was going to get the long range initially but at the last minute went with the Performance version to match my Model 3. I did not want to go from one car to the other and feel that I sacrificed something.
It is but you never get the estimated range they say plus, I don’t think it’s worth it for the price difference. I’d rather have the range then for it just to be slightly faster.
@@erikmartinez8867it’s not 2 seconds difference. It’s .8 or less. MYP 3.5 with 1 foot roll out so it’s actually 3.6. Mylr 4.8 but is actually 4.4. The 3.6 and 4.4 were tested and confirmed. So .8 seconds in a car that both have the same instant torque feels just about the same or slightly faster. I actually test drove both and they felt the same to me.
I have a Model 3 Performance and just picked up the Model Y performance for my wife. I tested both cars out and could feel a noticeable difference in terms of acceleration and pedal feel. The LR was more comfortable on the street and on rough pavement. We chose the performance model because it felt similar to our Model 3. Having two cars that looked similar but each drove differently enough from one another helped make our decision easier. I like the seating position in the Y much better.

But when you say charge more often, how much are I driving. Please gives us those numerical stats
My loaners from Tesla have always been locked to Chill mode 🙁. Do you have the performance boost option on your Long Range?
Since you from NJ ( land of potholes ) is one better than the other in handling potholes ?

If money were no object you would take the Performance variant. Nicer wheels, spoiler, lower, more power and Brembo brakes.
FYI no longer equipped w/ Brembo's.

Shannon the 🐐
I’ve driven both 2. If you like speed, the performance is def worth it. Way faster than the long range.

is a 15 miles diference
Haha, BS! You want the P 😉
Isnt it less then 30 mile difference 😂

@@ThePandaFam id rather be slightly faster and 2 seconds in car terms isn’t slightly

I’d rather have the LR. It already has 400hp. I would mainly use it for work and traveling to Orlando since I live in Miami fl.
