The Porsche craves for the energy when charging. On a 350kw charger, I've never waited longer than 30 mins from 10%-95% It pulls a lot of energy. But comparing it to the Plaid S is more compatible. It like comparing an M6 to an M3.
Porsche Taycan Turbo is clearly the better car, but not at nearly 3 times the cost brand new to a M3P. Tesla value cannot be beat and is king of the hill at ~$60k.
Dont buy one of the first couple years of the Taycan. Id suggest 2022 and later only. Great cars - One thing Porsche engineered into the system was no degradation of power as the % charge diminishes. The Model 3 is far less powerful under 50% than it is full a full charge. The Taycan holds it's output throughout the charge. BUT, the Taycan was (and still IS in the 2025 model) a very dumb car. It's amazing that Porsche engineers didn't put any of the technological features into the Taycan, like Sentry Mode, Dog Mode, Dashcam (out every camera in the car), streaming of security footage from the car to your phone, KEY CARD!! OMG, WHY DOES PORSCHE STILL HAVE A KEY FOB!??!, and Porsche Connect app is just terrible compared to the Tesla app.
A new Model 3 Performance has 4 year base garanty and 8 year battery garanty. The used Porsche probably already out of warranty, costs more, has yearly maintenance and less range. If looks doesn't matter, its a no brainer and any sane person would choose the Tesla.
I would choose the Tesla for several reasons.charging network, repair cost and newer technology. If you need as Porsche to get lucky or keep her happy..tip...find a new squeez!!

I have almost ordered an m3P, but decided to wait a bit more to see what the ioniq 6N will hold for us.
No one that is considering a Porsche is waiting to see what the new Hyundai will look like.
@@porghvam3288 no one, but me. The 5N was the car of the year, and the taycan is just too freakin heavy
@@porghvam3288 He said M3P, not Porsche.
The taycan needs a major trim to be considered at all - it's a fat sloppy pig right now
I would take the new Tesla
U don't NEED ceramics like you don't NEED an EV that goes like stink. But it's AMAZING to have them so enjoy ceramic brakes unless you can't afford them.
Just picked up a Lucid and the next car will be a Taycan. Tesla lost twice in my family 😂 I did check out a Model Y and just wasn’t impressed with its Ikea interior. Btw Tesla ditched the (superior)LiDAR solely due to not wanting to pay for licensing - basically cheaping out on safety. Think about that.
Nice congrats! Which lucid?
@@officialmichaeltan Air Touring! Btw, I didn't mention it in my prior comment but great vid!
Il take the Tesla all days
What a question. Porsche each day every day
@@jeffryflorale it’s a great car in many ways!
When you pick up your main squeez in a Taycan you know the rest of the night will be wonderful!
And if you pick her up in a model 3 she'll feel like getting in a cab.
boys, you need to be looking elsewhere for compensation 😅
@@jonfrench7133 not if you’re looking for shallow gold diggers for short term. Just gotta know exactly the type of women you’re attracting
@@Peachy-or-not 😅
Great cars - One thing Porsche engineered into the system was no degradation of power as the % charge diminishes.
Great points. Man I haven’t even tried the Porsche connect app but I can imagine haha.
You don't judge a car by 0-60. I have smoked Teslas on the way to Vegas on interstate 15 driving an older Porsche 996.
I haven’t done anything in the taycan but the tesla is better.
A new Model 3 Performance has 4 year base garanty and 8 year battery garanty.
The used Porsche probably already out of warranty, costs more, has yearly maintenance and less range.
If looks doesn't matter, its a no brainer and any sane person would choose the Tesla.
Great point warranty is huge for such an expensive purchase.
The tech and software in the Tesla is way better. Its faster, more responsive and more polished.
My 2019 Model 3 Performance has the metal plate on the trunk door opening, who else has one? Why the downgrade 😂
I would choose the Tesla for several reasons.charging network, repair cost and newer technology. If you need as Porsche to get lucky or keep her happy..tip...find a new squeez!!
😂
1. $50,000 more
2. 100 miles less range
3. Slower in performance and charging speeds
Tesla = ❤
Hey, great video! Please, transform those specs into metric system as well, cause we here don't understand a shit)
@@hulias great feedback! I’ll try to find the right balance. I’m a chemical engineering major so I definitely like the metric system haha.
The battery in that taycan is a liability.
Would not touch that technology
Yes 60.000k for new tycan + battery
Regarding quality build and driving experience, the Tesla is not even close to Porsche!
how old is your tesla?
Specs and performance might be tilted towards Tesla but quality feel is no contest.
Answering your question, it doesn't matter that the Tesla performs so freaking well... with the Tesla, you are an NPC but with the Taycan you are the king of the hill. 😁🖖
Porsche has to stay with 6 cylinders I for sure prefer my Tesla rather this Taycan
An instrument cluster is not a Heads Up Display.
@@aureliusmarcus9171 You’re right. I misspoke
only thing Taycan wins is in handling and comfort, which you couldnt compare. practicality wise Tesla wins handsdown.
The new model 3 performance handles really good and is very comfortable!
m3p and its not even close
If you are buying a $50,000+ vehicle I sincerely hope you make enough to qualify for the $7,500 tax credit.
This isn’t a dig but money management is incredibly important to a successful future and that would be an immensely bad decision if you “didn’t qualify for the tax credit”.
So as others have said the price difference is realistically over $10,000. Which is a 20% delta. Aka a huge price difference.
Why not a used Model 3 Performance? Better bang for your bucks.
Not many used 2024 M3Ps on the market right now!
You definitely do t want to own a taycan out of warranty. My best friend is a tech a Porsche. They are fantastic cars but very expensive to repair.
*Taycan leaves you at the mercy of third party chargers* 🔌
I charge my taycan on my Porsche home charger
Regen means the car slows down when u let off the accelerator. Taycan do NOT have that. But it has Regen. Lame
uh where is this road, er i mean "track", that you're doing all this testing? 🤣
Why not buy a 2019 model 3 performance? 60% cheaper and virtually identical
Old performance is still a great car but the new interior, suspension changes, power increase is very nice on the 2024.
