My cynic sense is tingling. Like Hasbro rushed this out for the FOMO fans, but plans on doing another one down the road and won't tell anyone for fear they'll skip a trash model. I got that feeling when I finally got Sunstreaker and compared it to it CW version. CW was mediocre, but at the time I wanted because we didn't know if we'd get a chance at a full blown deluxe. I may still get it, but now I know not to hunt for it.
I don't think so. It came out with an entire wave and was in planning as long as the rest of the figures were. I think they just booted it. The essential design is quite good, but they lost the details.
I hope you're right, but I doubt it. The only figures from WFC there are any potential rumors of being remade so far are Ratchet and Ironhide, and they're much better-known characters whose figures were hard-to-obtain exclusives. I can't see them giving Tracks the same treatment (or Mirage, who I think also needs it).
Yeah, gonna have to pass on this. Given that my cat knocks over my Transformers shelf every other week, a figure made of brittle plastic is a horrible idea. (I've resorted to mainly collecting sturdy Unicron Trilogy figures for the shelves the cat can get to. Those things are sturdy.) Speaking of, funny story: I once accidentially knocked Cybertron Optimus outside my 3rd story Dorm window creating a scene reminiscent of Buzz Lightyear realizing he couldn't fly. Not a scratch on the figure after landing in the dirt. Then proceeded to throw it out the window to show people what happened.
Suddenly really glad I have reveal the shield tracks that I got a few years back. Sure it may not be the best tracks ever but it can at least stand up without extra modifications. Also let’s applaud the fact that this guy was able to animate tracks flying at the end.
Voting yes to see your Tracks maiden "flight" off a bridge. Also, was expecting you to have him hold your mini Lego Blaster when referencing his blaster. (Kinda wish he came with an official mini blaster)
i'm sure everyone would love for hasbro to develop lego-tier clear plastic, looks just like the regular stuff, feels better to handle, isn't brttle, and in some cases is actually stronger than the standard
With the rumors of a new Ratchet and Ironhide mold coming in SS86, I really hope they decide to give Tracks another shot too. If he wasn't one of my favorite characters I'd probably be satisfied with this mold but he is, both in terms of personality and design, and I really want a figure of him on the same level as the other ER car bots. If only they could've just downsized the MP engineering, and maybe asked Chevrolet about a license... (And while they're at it, if they could do it for Mirage too. I want a proper 70s F1 alt mode and, like with Tracks, a good transformation that doesn't overcomplicate him with needless use of faux parts.)

WoW.😮🤙🏾
This is the first figure I've gotten that I just really can't recommend anyone to get. The connections at the top of the roof in car mode are under IMMENSE stress full time on my copy. It's definitely going to self-destruct before too long. And there are a whole host of other problems, even more than this video mentions. I know 17 minutes doesn't seem 'diet' but it's the minimal rant on this figure and I'm glad Lazy Eyebrow didn't pour a lot of time into customization and animation on this figure as it would crumble before too long anyway.
You deservedly took this figure out to the woodshed. After how good Cyclonus, Airazor, and Huffer came out, Tracks and Rhinox baffle me. I get that many of the production issues could be laid at the feet of COVID related factory issues, but I don't see how that dinks the design. And while I've no interest in Road Rage, this is the first time I've ever seen a repaint get me even angrier at the original mold. How does RR get the full flame treatment while Tracks has this awful monochrome flame?
Tracks looks incredible in robot mode, but part of that is how you made him Look so good with the camera angles that hide the ankle gaps, etc. I too, dislike false (or immoral) chests. I like RTS Tracks and will stick with him. Thank you for another great review and toy animation!
I hope hasbro fixes its issues with clear plastic. If the whole thing about them having to use clear plastic cus they’re aren’t enough opaque plastic molds, then it’s probably gonna be really sucky for the next few years
I have both this and the red re-color, and both had fenders that were fine, no mods needed. Standing required the leg doodad add-ons, and while they're great for robot mode, they've gotta come out for transforming.
Excellent coverage! Thank you! I had this guy on order from BBTS, then I saw some early reviews, and cancelled it. This review further reinforces that decision. I think this can be counted in with Eunuch Lacerations Galvatron as one of the worst modern TF moulds. I'm sticking with the RTS and Masterpiece Trackses I have.
@@cheesier5153 Ahh, thanks for clarifying. At the rate that RTS Tracks is going up in price, perhaps it's best that I try and track down and AOE Hot Shot and call it Tracks. Honestly not a bad mold from what I saw of it...
I ALWAYS pause the video to read the little text notes, and I’m glad I did. In addition, I’m incredibly glad I watch your reviews, as I’m the exact person you’re talking to near the end. I own a RTS Tracks, and I was excited for the Kingdom Tracks, but GOOD GRAVY does this new figure suck. I’ll be passing on this one, and THANK YOU for saving me the money. Also, you’re hilarious and informative as always. Glad to see the “Diet” title working so well for you.
Another great review! I'm still debating whether I want him or not, on the one hand, he looks decent enough, and he'll probably be the last G1 Tracks we get for the next decade at least, but on the other, the amount of clear plastic used in his construction is nasty, the transformation is mediocre at best, his legs and floaty feet are just cringe, and I seriously worry about paint chipping due to the amount of painted clear plastic.
@@silhouettoofaman2935 you do have a point most of the figures are really spot on(looks at kingdom Cyclonus) I thought the fact they call Tracks a “Micro Masterpiece” just puts salt on the wound
11:29 NGL, I'm not too sure that Sunstreaker pulls it off that well. I mean, it's just so obvious that he's wearing a perfectly square cardboard cutout on his chest and that REALLY bugs me and because the piece is painted from the back as well means there is no way to see it as anything but a square. The fact that they didn't sculpt two angled notches on the bottom that would've flowed into the waist just makes his lower region look a bit tubby as well which for the one bot who is basically autobot James is just disappointing to see.
An easier fix that doesn't involve campers is to cut the twisty ties from the box and superglue it to the offending tabs, essentially lengthening said tabs and making the connection more secure.
I'm here to say I 100% appreciate your honesty with what should have been the best GI Legacy 'bot of Kingdom. Instead we get Trainwreck Tracks. Disappointed in Hasbro my understated understatement of the year.
That figure saddens me ... I don't have a Tracks and I had high hopes when that figure got announced ... Now that I've seen so many bad reviews of the figure because of those ridiculous panel tabs, I won't even bother to spend my money on it ... Great review as always; greetings from 🇵🇦 🤙
And you’re Canadian? I’m sold. I subbed. Too many Americans excusing design flaws cause “it’s a 20$ toy” but like no. In Canada we have to deal with the fact that stock of anything good tends to be super limited, we rarely get a restock of anything, there’s a limited number of Canadian retailers that sell them, and on top of that, if you don’t get them directly from Amazon when they come out for 35$ for a deluxe, you have to deal with third party sellers asking anywhere from 40-100$ for a basic deluxe, with most on average being around 60$ with tax. So like spending 60$ on a deluxe and it being meh is kinda sucky. We need more Canadians reviewing this type of stuff to get a better feel for the value.
@@TheLazyEyebrow exactly. I concede that peoples experience will vary from copy to copy but there are some serious design flaws with Tracks that could’ve been remedied. I was able to figure out a way to get my copy to nearly perfect lock in place in car mode but robot mode is definitely iffy still. I want to get an upgrade but I don’t have a 3D printer and it costs like 10-30$ just to buy those upgrades off eBay.
Ok some stuff I can get but how do you forget a fight port for a flying character that feels like the one of the most important things to have. I wonder if that's why they did the wierd middle exhaust pipe for you to plug a 5mm flight stand into. I wonder if they realized they forgot it and then threw that in at the last minute explaining the lack of back paint and wings that stand out so much.
You know what's funny? My Tracks has all of the leg problems listed but it doesn't have the issue with the wings. My wings stay in place no matter how I move the arms outward. When I move them back down the wings actually stay so I got lucky there.
Studio Series 86 Jazz: "my vehicle mode is made up of an above-average amount of clear plastic, making me a potential time bomb!" Kingdom Tracks: "hold my energon"
dame, just dame. I had some high hopes fo the mold because I wanted a Loudpedel version of this mold to go with my Exhaust. This review and showing of the mold's numerus flaws makes reconsider the very thought.
Not even a minute in and Eyebrow already rags on the cartoon designs. Goodie. Personally I'm fine with either the yellow outline or just the red fire by itself. I feel like there's something more unique and stylish about the fire jsut being red, as opposed to it being red and yellow like any other time people draw fire.
that's fair. I mean if you like it, by all means please keep enjoying it. I just can't understand the mindset these days of sacrificing all detail in favor of emulating a show that did not have the time to include the detail the source material had
@@TheLazyEyebrow I dunno, to call it laziness, or not having enough time is selling it short. I am a 2D character designer, and there is artistry to making character designs that are complex enough to not be pedestrian, but simple enough to not be hell to animate. Look what a pain in the ass it was to animated this guy, because he had horribly designed legs. This is kinda like that. If the character is too complex, it's going to be hell to animate... And honestly, it doesn't look that good to me, like Jojo for example. That is personal preference tho. And yeah, the animation in these old cartoons is unimpressive, and riddled with errors, but the designs, man, the design! There is such beauty in the designs Floro Dery crafted for the show. And that is why there are people who want accuracy, like Protoman for example, because we're fans of Dery's art, and we want that art in toy form. To be perfectly clear, this one doesn't meet my standards. He's still too riddled with greeblies. I prefer the Studio Series ones. There is some nice Steve Kirby/Dexter's Lab mechanical detail on them, but there is also this cartoonish smoothness and shape language. They're elegant. When it comes to Tracks, I don't think adding the yellow gives him too much detail. It compliments the blue and red. But I'm fine without it too.
I feel like Hasbro's trying to cheap out by using clear plastic and the only reason he has paint on him was to cover the clear plastic and then they upraised the price because of this and I believe fans voted to get a toy of him since we haven't gotten a mainline G1 tracks figure in a long time!
When I first saw this figure and all the issues it had, I just bought a ko MP version. It doesn't scale for crap with my other figs, but at least it works!
There's just so much things the urks me with this figure. Most of them you already mentioned. The painted shin is really annoying and the proportions looks really really bad. Looks like I'll be keeping my RTS tracks even though he's missing a wing. Edit: Those wings also being a part of the arms. Damn Posing this guy would look really weird.
Man, what a bummer. This mold feels like it got it's shoelaces tied together at the starting line; it could've been great but there's so much holding it back it's really upsetting. I'm only gonna pick this figure up because it's getting a Road Rage repaint and it's less expensive to get a root canal than find a CHUG version of her (oops, "SG" Tracks). Since I'm mostly ambivalent on car modes, I'll more than likely do what you did with Tracks, pop her on a shelf and let her sit.... though I do find it really admirable that even though it was a nightmare to do, you still transformed Tracks flying, transforming, and driving. Maybe I can try animating with her robot mode exclusively if I get leg panels for her and swap over to her MP car mode if I want her to drive? Where I'm at, she's only gonna be 25 bucks, not 40.
Incredible review The Lazy Eyebrow!!!!!!!!!! I had no idea Tracks had such numerous flaws, just when I was hoping Galvatron's shoulders facing the wrong direction was the worst QC of the Kingdom line. :P Keep on being amazing.
I must've gotten lucky. I just recently got this figure and the car mode pegs in well, and I have to bend the knee joint 5-10 times at bare minimum for it to come undone once. And I was really expecting disappointment just to be surprised.
Im probably gonna get Roadrage instead i wouldn't be surprised if a repaint has better QC than its original mold realease. Or better yet (if the Brand Team cares) they could rerelease this figure in the Rumored Legacy Toyline with remolded legs and maybe just maybe a hood molded in original plastic instead of clear plastic.
Seeing I've never owned road rage and i love the concept of the character, this is a figure I'm hunting as well But if i never find it, I'm not exactly going to be sad either
While not a perfect figure, I am content with it. JRC mods are a must. I have no intention of posing or messing with this figure as he is meant to stay untouched for display only.
Ok not gonna lie but when you did the histogram image of tracks at 2:50 i instantly thought hmm possible recolor for new character cause i swear those three colors make the car pop
I got the Road Rage version and fixed the legs, It's an easy fix imo and made it much better. Other than thst I'm just waiting for Toyhax to do a set for her
One of the more thorough reviews ive listened and seen. THis helps cus I really wanted to add Road Rage to my fembot collection and my red car collection. guess im getting the MP.
Ugh... There's a LIMIT to show-accuracy, people. Can someone explain to me the appeal of the repo-labels of the "animation accurate" (a.k.a. sloppy) insignias? 2:42 - Ooooh... Why you gotta do that, Hasbro? 12:09 - WOAH!! That's not how you feet!! Suddenly I'm wondering what Tracks transformed into on Cybertron. Was he always this gorgeous, or was he saddled with something utilitarian and ugly, which is why he gushes over his Earth-mode like he does?
@lazyeyebrow, I bought this figure after your review because even after all the flaws you mentioned. One thing I would like to update those with this figure that didn't sand off the notches that you did. You don't have to if you don't want to, I accidentally found out that if you open the leg panels underneath and then squeeze them together just so slightly the front of the car just pops out on its own..
It's very close to one of the best colors ever sprayed on a Corvette, Nassau Blue. A couple of things I hate about the figure is the feet first and foremost and how loose all the joints are brand new out of box. I never had Tracks originally as a kid, my very first was a G1 Prowl I remember my father commenting to a friend that these toys are going to make millions, damn if he wasn't right. As a kid a friend of my little sisters mother in the 80's had stored away MIB Original G1 figures that she was holding because she knew they'd be worth a lot more in the future.
My biggest gripe with this thing is the fake chest just as u said. IMO I prefer actual alt mode parts on a robot to screen accuracy. I mean what is a transformer if it doesn't transform correctly? And I'm sure if I had it in hand, the legs would frustrate me. A lot of potential gone into waste However, this is just my opinion. Anyways, great review as usual!👍
Despite all of the problems, I want to get this guy anyway just because it's Tracks. Tracks is one of my favorite Autobots and I have almost every Tracks toy. I already have the Masterpiece, RTS, and United Tracks and I'm getting G1 Tracks in November. Hopefully I can get this one, my stores always get the first 2 waves of a series and then just keep getting more of wave 1 until the next series is out and they do the same thing again. Unless it's Cyberverse, they get tons of the new Cyberverse stuff
I got my Tracks this week. Used some Blu Tack behind his shins in bot mode to hold his legs in better. Tracks was one of my most wanted figures as well. Waiting for toyhax to release their stickers. They did an amazing job for Jazz, im im sure Tracks will be just as great.
I tightened all the joints with superglue and it has been working like a charm. I honestly love this figure, is it a perfect tracks? no. But its quirky while still being tracks. I really like it, I am going to modify the heck out of it, but i do that with most of my figures anyway.
What I would really like to see from a third party is for them to take that clear plastic backpack and remold it in solid blue plastic with painted windows. That way you don't have to worry about it breaking.

Those things are sturdy.)
Speaking of, funny story: I once accidentially knocked Cybertron Optimus outside my 3rd story Dorm window creating a scene reminiscent of Buzz Lightyear realizing he couldn't fly. Not a scratch on the figure after landing in the dirt. Then proceeded to throw it out the window to show people what happened.
Suddenly really glad I have reveal the shield tracks that I got a few years back. Sure it may not be the best tracks ever but it can at least stand up without extra modifications. Also let’s applaud the fact that this guy was able to animate tracks flying at the end.
thanks
Voting yes to see your Tracks maiden "flight" off a bridge.
Also, was expecting you to have him hold your mini Lego Blaster when referencing his blaster.
(Kinda wish he came with an official mini blaster)
You know, I was going to, then i entirely forgot
@@TheLazyEyebrow
It happens.
The brain don't always work the way we want it too.
i'm sure everyone would love for hasbro to develop lego-tier clear plastic, looks just like the regular stuff, feels better to handle, isn't brttle, and in some cases is actually stronger than the standard
seriously, why can't they do that?
They're not THAT smart. If they were, that probably would've been done a couple years ago, if not by now.
Even if Tracks has a bad toy, you have to admit, he still has a stunning auto mode!
I'll just stick with my RTS for now.
Let me give you props now, this explanation of this toy was absolutely astounding I appreciate all that information, your knowledge to detail to understanding to creating is absolutely mind blowing. I've subscribed to the channel sometime ago but I haven't been watching many of the episodes lately or these I've been a collector for a short time of all sorts of toys and now I'm getting into stop motion transformation with the transformers and your channel is the first video's I came to, and I have to say I got an overload of information that was just astounding, they need you over at Hasbro or somewhere immediately to just help change their future of their toy making to the best that it can possibly be thank you lazy eyebrow.
You've accurately understood my plight for this video haha
@The Lazy Eyebrow 4:05 nice reference to JobbyTheHong! Never expected that one!
Idk why they used a fake chest. The masterpiece used a real chest and looks way better
The masterpiece looks better then the CHUG?? Insane...
god i would love it if you uploaded a review of something you didnt hate soon, im sick of the negative vibes
....did you miss Cliffjumper?
speaking of the flame deco, Road Rage got the accurate one
I’ve STILL got Traxx on my shelf!! 30-odd YEARS later!! The BOMB!
The reason is because it's *GeEwUn cArToOn accurate*
@@OfficialFinnTDK Yeah I know but it just looks bad. Cheap. Cheap AND bad.
Tracks looks incredible in robot mode, but part of that is how you made him Look so good with the camera angles that hide the ankle gaps, etc.
I too, dislike false (or immoral) chests. I like RTS Tracks and will stick with him.
Thank you for another great review and toy animation!
"Well, I said nuts to that..."
*_I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERENCE._*
Thank you. I was on the fence about whether I was going to get that mold for Road Rage, as I have united Tracks. But now I know better. Thank you
Lazy eyebrow vlog series episode 1: yeeting tracks off the golden gate bridge in california. Great trip for the family mind you.
Very happy I didn’t pick this figure up, I’ll stick with my customized AOE one
Let me guess- AOE “Hot Shot” with a new head?
@@EternityKingdomsHeadHoncho no there was a repaint of deluxe crosshairs as tracks max just didn’t have the flame pattern, so I did that myself
@@cheesier5153 Ahh, thanks for clarifying. At the rate that RTS Tracks is going up in price, perhaps it's best that I try and track down and AOE Hot Shot and call it Tracks. Honestly not a bad mold from what I saw of it...
I can live with the legs honestly, tightening the swivel joint on the panels helps remedy the issue
Ok small thing, but the transitions into an ad was actually really cool.
And Hasbro had the audacity to call this a “micro masterpiece” if that’s their standard then it’s all going to be downhill from here
I consider this a dud in an otherwise brilliant line. Even the Masterpiece line has its fair share of stinkers (looking square at Bumblebee 2.0).
@@silhouettoofaman2935 you do have a point most of the figures are really spot on(looks at kingdom Cyclonus) I thought the fact they call Tracks a “Micro Masterpiece” just puts salt on the wound
@@Envo_Prime I don't know man he is pretty perfect as a micro masterpiece, he looks great but he feels like shit, just like most masterpieces
Looking back on it....
I think tracks was the ORIGINAL triple changer!
Ey that's fair
Great review as always; greetings from 🇵🇦 🤙
You almost want to go for the Masterpiece Tracks. Yes, you're going to pay more but you get a quality figure. That's what I'm doing.
I do my best to be fair, but crap toy is crap toy
@@TheLazyEyebrow exactly. I concede that peoples experience will vary from copy to copy but there are some serious design flaws with Tracks that could’ve been remedied. I was able to figure out a way to get my copy to nearly perfect lock in place in car mode but robot mode is definitely iffy still. I want to get an upgrade but I don’t have a 3D printer and it costs like 10-30$ just to buy those upgrades off eBay.
Honestly, I paint mine up to look more toy (g1) accurate, so some metallic paint on the tabs helped
I understand your frustrations with this figure
8:18 tip: Use the opening of the leg to separate the legs from the windshield so you don’t have to do much work
Ok some stuff I can get but how do you forget a fight port for a flying character that feels like the one of the most important things to have. I wonder if that's why they did the wierd middle exhaust pipe for you to plug a 5mm flight stand into. I wonder if they realized they forgot it and then threw that in at the last minute explaining the lack of back paint and wings that stand out so much.
Great review. I got my leg jrc locks day after I got Tracks. Made a heck of a difference
You know what's funny? My Tracks has all of the leg problems listed but it doesn't have the issue with the wings. My wings stay in place no matter how I move the arms outward. When I move them back down the wings actually stay so I got lucky there.
That's really bizarre. Lucky you though haha
17 minute diet review? What have done to deserve this treat?
Studio Series 86 Jazz: "my vehicle mode is made up of an above-average amount of clear plastic, making me a potential time bomb!"
Kingdom Tracks: "hold my energon"
dame, just dame. I had some high hopes fo the mold because I wanted a Loudpedel version of this mold to go with my Exhaust. This review and showing of the mold's numerus flaws makes reconsider the very thought.
My kingdom tracks was a pain to transform and a floppy mess right out of the box, so i feel you
Well, that’s another thing I’m planning to change when I use my time-machine 30 years from now.
Um, I know Diet Stop Motion reviews are just less pictures taken, but this is LONGER than the Dinobot review.
Yeah....i know
I feel like Hasbro's trying to cheap out by using clear plastic and the only reason he has paint on him was to cover the clear plastic and then they upraised the price because of this and I believe fans voted to get a toy of him since we haven't gotten a mainline G1 tracks figure in a long time!
They should have shrunk MP Tracks exactly as it was and call it voyager Tracks in classic height.
Something that I like to do with the arms is kinda twist the arms so then it's easier to get the arms out
Man, what a bummer.
Where I'm at, she's only gonna be 25 bucks, not 40.
part of me wants to fix this for some reason. and yeah, animating was less than fun honestly
Incredible review The Lazy Eyebrow!!!!!!!!!! I had no idea Tracks had such numerous flaws, just when I was hoping Galvatron's shoulders facing the wrong direction was the worst QC of the Kingdom line. :P Keep on being amazing.
3:52 I love Lazy's sarcasm
17:19 Good idea. Finally, something we can do with this mode.
Also, completely forgot to mention this 10 months ago but nice shout out to Jobby at 4:05.
Thanks. Really struggled folding the legs.
Dropping the ball on Tracks seems to be a tradition at this point.
It really does
i'd love to see this mold retooled into a prime universe vehicon
I must've gotten lucky. I just recently got this figure and the car mode pegs in well, and I have to bend the knee joint 5-10 times at bare minimum for it to come undone once. And I was really expecting disappointment just to be surprised.
When Lazy Eyebrow tells you not to buy a figure, you know there's something very wrong about it.
Seeing I've never owned road rage and i love the concept of the character, this is a figure I'm hunting as well
But if i never find it, I'm not exactly going to be sad either
Yoooo he mentioned JobbytheHong
While not a perfect figure, I am content with it. JRC mods are a must. I have no intention of posing or messing with this figure as he is meant to stay untouched for display only.
Great review as always man. Its a damn shame this mold couldnt have been better. Now loudpetal and road rage will suck too
Yes finally a review on tracks
Yeah.... that pretty much sums up my feelings as well
Ok not gonna lie but when you did the histogram image of tracks at 2:50 i instantly thought hmm possible recolor for new character cause i swear those three colors make the car pop
I got the Road Rage version and fixed the legs, It's an easy fix imo and made it much better. Other than thst I'm just waiting for Toyhax to do a set for her
they molded so much detail on that car yet left so much unpainted making it look so basic
side note: you see that 'Dracula' cross over? oh boy..
i have. interesting use of Fangry for sure
@@TheLazyEyebrow Fangry? I thought he was a remold of TR Mindwipe.
@@ian1231100 oh, probably. Forgot mindwipe existed honestly
Part of me still wants to get this but I recently got the MP and that figure is a lot more fun.
I’m still going to like that figure
One of the more thorough reviews ive listened and seen. THis helps cus I really wanted to add Road Rage to my fembot collection and my red car collection. guess im getting the MP.
Still diggin the new mini overload name
Dang. That sounds like a fantastic skit
I think he’s pretty cool He will go well with the smokescreen and bluestreak I’m going to get
It's very close to one of the best colors ever sprayed on a Corvette, Nassau Blue.
All the budget went to Rodimus
Aww man, I was looking forward to Tracks.
The red flame is part of his animation model character sheet
