Fun thing I originally found on the internet - If you don't like the Mr. Fusion constantly falling off the rifle if you look at it wrong, you can plug it upside down into one of the forearm ports, and it becomes kind of like a watch like Marty's looking at on the movie posters. yeah idk if he'd survive a stop motion session either (especially with that wooden knee haha), probably would've just been the comparison piece to film alongside my own haha
I wouldn’t have mind if they made this guy a premium finish and painted him metallic with all of those details picked out. They literally did us dirty by not painting him metallic like they did with the prototype
the power cable hook can also be stored in robot mode using 5 millimeter ports located on the insides of the doors. That's a new location for ports and tbh it'd be cool to stick some guns there in vehicle mode considering the gull wing configuration
Love the part where Gigawatt yanks the wire and knocks over Thundercracker and Skywarp. Eh it's alright but I think I prefer the Gigawatt you looked at in a previous review. Double the price of a deluxe makes my wallet sad too.
For someone who hasn't watched back to the future till recently and enjoys the car, I think it's pretty fun. I agree with the back legs being shown for the front. Also, there's a gun storage underneath the hood in vehicle mode, which is neat if you haven't been told 100000 times
The gun does stow in car mode, just behind the front bumper on the bottom. Not quite hidden if you look closely from the front, but a decent job of it and no more trouble for ground clearance than the normal undercarriage bits.
I've still not opened my copy, a strange mix of not knowing where or how to display him and loving how good he looks in his box.. I'm not even a misb collector. Anyways, thanks for the most in depth look I've had into Jigawatt, shout out to Seth.
Honestly I personally love the usage of the sideswipe mold, it a different flair to the g1 bot modes I'll be honest, there's too many robots with the Jazz/datsun style Headlight tits Door wings Taillight toes The only thing I wish the sideswipe mold did was had the g1 door kibble in robot mode
Epic video The Lazy Eyebrow!!! Despite his flaws, Gigawatt has become my favorite Collaborative Transformers figure. Outstanding work on your custom Collaborative Series figures, especially K.I.T.T.! Keep on being amazing.
You bringing up Sunstreaker in the comparison with how the robot mode is handled actually does give me the thought of what a Gigawatt done from that mold would have looked like. The techno kibble on the shoulders, the gull-wing doors on the legs, it might have been more interesting.
Two things I'd like to point out. The figure isn't a licensed DMC product, DMC isn't mentioned anywhere on the box hence why it lacks the DMC logo on the grille. I even own a model of the BTTF Delorean that also lacks DMC branding, so I suppose universal has full rights to everything but the DMC logo. And the second thing is that the alt mode is actually painted, you'll notice some scuff marks in the paint on the frunk at 3:20, my copy also has some paint chipping too around the panel that flips around to become the Flux Capacitor on the chest.
I dont know how else to put this but I love the ad segments in your videos. I'm more inclined to let the ads play since you added the "commercial break" animations. Great work always look forward to your videos.
Nah, don't apologize for being honest with your analysis, you're passionate about vehicles as much as you're for the robots, that's unique, that's part of why we come here!
Looking closely at the figure it seems he's indeed painted but in a flat not mettalic grey over grey plastic, I'm prettu sure of it as the light reflection is different from the insides of the car which are not painted
@@TheLazyEyebrow completely agree, maybe to get closer to the not so reflective metal of the car, but it's not that flat. Double checked and it's indeed painted, hard to see with the molded details but you see the light acting differently on the smoother parts of the car.
This figure may be flawed, but to be honest I think it adds to the charm. The Transformation works exactly how you'd imagine it would, especially when you consider this design has been around far longer than the figure itself has. (Somebody made a costume of an identical design over eight years ago.
Surprised that the comic book was not mention... Also, we might see Gigawatt again but with a minicon, that becomes the hover-board (as seen in the comic book). But not sure as the delorean from the third film or the time traveling train. I do recommend the comic, its a neat fun adventurer and you did another awesome video, thumbs up
This was my first modern Transformer. It got me into the hobby of collecting these toys. 2020 was the perfect time to start. Now, I have so many! But this was the one that made me take a hard look at Transformers and decide “these things are really cool now”
I'm glad I got a chance to watch this. Ive been doing a fast from watching UA-cam videos that wasn't preaching. But I'm still glad I got the chance to catch up with my devotion to God
I got my Gigawatt for Christmas last year, and the first thing I tried to do was get rid of the collar piece on the back of the neck, and somehow made it so the hood doesn’t go back all the way up. I now kinda hate that I still have it because it’s not a Transformer anymore, and I can’t use the best quality of the figure, the vehicle mode
Really I noticed how underwhelming the silver was when looking at the robot mode legs, the front of it has some of that texture that mimicks the brushed steel, implying that piece came from outside fenders but all that detail just gets lost in the unpainted gray
I got two by mistake, one I ordered almost a year ago from the official BttF site, and the other I saw at a hobby shop. I'm kinda glad because the one I got from the hobby shop, its hood with the flux capacitor snapped off…
"...As useful as (the hook) was in the first movie." Was it thought? Was it REALLY? Was there any reason why they couldn't just put the car on a couple of chocks a comfortable distance away from the clock tower, and maintain a steady speed of 88 MPH without risk of running into anything or running out of cord? Actually, that brushed look on the car, in a certain light, gives it a sheen, with the brush interrupting the reflection, and it gives it a metallic affect, which is totally lost under really bright direct light. There is a similar affect with the head lights, that look really cool...in some light. I actually like it...because I have never seen these details on any other toy. Its creative...and works well enough.
One of the details I liked on this is the time circuit display is the "blink and you'll miss is detail" for the time departed display(yellow) it reads Nov 12 1955 6:00pm the time Old Biff traveled from to get back to 2015 after giving himself the sports book. You see it for less than a second when they travel from 2015 to 1985A.
This toy sets my imagination in overdrive, trying to think of how to make a much better transformer out of this vehicle. I'd go for Sunstreaker or Wheeljack, honestly. Turn that massive front end into some chonky robolegs and the time machine details into a backpack; might be more visible than sticking it on the back of the legs. While I'm okay with the complaints, your grievances with these figures feels pretty valid (I feel those Canadian prices...) I do hope you can review something you enjoy. Thanks for the videos, Mr. Eyebrow.
I think they aimed for a fair middle-ground on this guy and hit it. They won over a lot of fans simply for attempting this, including myself... and little things like the hover-conversion wheels, Mr. Fusion, the time circuits on the chest, those push the nostalgia buttons. Most figures Hasbro puts out could be better with more paint or better articulation but until a 3rd party does them right, it's often "this is better than nothing" for the Generations line.
4:56 Jose's painted windows look really good, because he actually used like a glossy finish, I'll give you that. But every other time I see painted windows, they break the illusion of this being a car. It looks like painted plastic, not windows. Using different materials to represent different materials is a good idea to me. If not, then I at least want the windows to look like windows, not wooden toy cars my mom bought me as a kid, with a drawing on the front. Toyhax windows remind me of those toys. What kind of window looks like a Microsoft gradient?
Bit of a reason for that. He painted the inside of them. Bit of both worlds there in that you're not looking at the interior of nothing, but you still have the deoth of glass As for Toyhax' gradient, I personally really like it. Rather than just a flat sticker to cover over the window, it gives it a bit if tinted window depth But to each their own of course. If you don't like it, more power to you
Yeah, love the figure. Other than the fact I accidentally broke my thumbnail from trying to flip the chest piece and lost the gun and Mr Fusion piece for months! Only to find it in a place I looked at a bunch of times… I love life.
