Dude I've watched every single one of your videos since the Fuji days. Just love the conent. Also, Sony missed a chance to get a trio of the A7C cameras. They should've given us a A7Cs option as well. ZVE1 is unfortunately not for everyone.

I find that in many situations the amount of noise on FX3 between 3200 and 12800 is quite comparable, but with more chances of banding in shadows at 3200.
So if the scene is more or less evenly exposed or without large dark areas I just use up to 3200 ISO.
I also find FX3 + 16-35 f4 PZ combo very comfortable to use, because you can zoom in and out and operate the whole camera with just one hand.
It's especially handy on hiking trips or when you're just running around the city where your other hand might be holding something else.
It saves so much time to just press the shutter button to wake from sleep and then change the focal length with the zoom rocker and take the shot.

Would you recommend the fx3 over the Sony zv-e1

    • @Arseny.Petukhov
      @Arseny.Petukhov Рік тому +2

If the difference in price is not the issue then FX3 is much more logical choice than ZV-E1 based on the dual card slots alone.
Some people say it's fine, but memory cards fail and I would never use a camera without dual card slots even for my personal projects.
But for general day to day use it's okay and the chance that the card is going to fail on you is pretty low.
Other than that you also get a fan and it gives you freedom to never think about overheating. I've shot 4k 60 fps numerous times under the sun in 96-98 degree weather and I didn't even get the overheating warning.
Also ZV-E1 only has an electronic shutter which is a no go for flash photography or capturing anything dynamic.
The size difference is pretty negligible because they both lack a viewfinder at the top of the camera which is the most bothersome part.
I can fit the FX3 in my autumn or winter coat pocket without issues, but sometimes you just want an even smaller camera, and when I see someone walking by with a Fuji I get jealous.

I think the fact that this can do basically everything the A7IV can do eg. professional photo AND professional video, but also be a really fun personal camera with a small prime lens makes it an absolute winner in my books.
It’s almost like owning an X100V and a workhorse camera in one. The only real negative for me personally is the lack of dual SD card slots for the peace of mind for client work.

I also got the A7CII with the tamy 20-40, best versatile setup I finally achieve to get which give me 100% satisfaction. And I get many sony cameras and differents lenses, it just replaces the sigma 16-28 I really liked too but here the 40mm give me a very nice B-roll and stab footage with the active stab only.

Really wish SONY used the 4 axis screen of Sony A7RV for ANY hybrid camera. For photos I HATE the swivel out screen only design, for street photo speacially it really is a regression/drag, when you want to be less intimidating, maintain low profile. Smaller cam/frame as these compact full-frames from Sony (A7C/A7CII/A7CR) in theory are less intimidating cameras for street photography but this gets nullified if you like the type of low angle, shoot from the hip because you have to swivel OUT and to the SIDE.

    • @costagf

I have a Sony A7II/A7III and didn't upgrade to Sony A7IV because of the swivel out screen design.

If that overheats indoors, Just imagine how it will outdoors, My A7IV over heats quite often and not even in really hot hot weather. Must have a bad copy bc I have tried all the tricks and it overheats at least once a day in Mid warm weather. Somewhere like Florida it would probably catch on fire with in 20 minutes... Albeit I shoot 60p 4K almost 90% of the time..

Easily the best review so far of this camera given your sanity on use cases. Ideally I would get an FX3 as a third cam for my video podcast studio (have FX6/A7S3) but as you say it’s twice the price so leaning towards this plus the fan if needed although I’m filming 15 mins at a time in UK so thinking I’m ok! ZV E1 would be pushing it though 😂

Damn your videos are really helpful. Im currently shooting with a Fuji X T30 Mark I and a couple weeks ago i bought a Lumix S5 II.
The video is fantastic from that camera and low light Performance is also really good but oh boy is that thing heavy and its kinda feels clunky to use. I don’t know why but i feel more at home with my Fuji although it has no Ibis and is still 8 bit and only shoots 4k 30 max. Maybe i need to take a step back and really consider what i actually need? Would a ZV E1 or 7CII be great? Yeah probably. But i still have to go out and shoot. Maybe i will sell the Lumix and buy a better Tripod, some nice lights etc.

  • @YaYousef5

The ZV-E1 is compelling because it's the better video camera BUT I love shooting flash for photos and it only has an electronic shutter with a max flash sync speed of 1/30. That's a dealbreaker. The A7C II is the way to go. I love my A7C and in a couple years I'll get an A7C II when it's 50% less expensive. Don't mind waiting. 😎

I feel like the rangefinder style viewfinder is hugely underrated as well. I also own a x100v, a7c, and a slew of other 35mm film cameras that utilize this style view finder and now I find that when I use any camera with it, my eye goes straight to it by muscle memory. It is my preferred stills shooting style when available because it takes me in and out of the shot so much quicker. I'm not chimping, adjusting settings, I feel more present and my subjects see me, not a guy staring at his rear lcd. I thought it was stupid at first, but I've definitely eaten my words and now love it.

I can’t really say cause idk everything you guys need it for and how you plan to use it. The XH2S is an amazing camera tho only reason I got rid of mine is because I’m trying my best to keep to one lens mount (Sony e mount) so I don’t have to drown in even more lenses. I personally like full frame mroe cause I get more lens options and can push the bokeh with my standard lenses Bs having to compensate if/when I need more separation. And then I can always crop into the sensor and still use S35 lenses when needed
