Presently my device works fine for my garage door. I also understand the security benefits of Google Assistant asking for a PIN to open the garage door, for most applications. However, I do not want to utilize the PIN feature. Is there a way to bypass the PIN requirement within Google Assistant, with a routine or something similar. I also know i can use the SmartLife App directly without a PIN. But I want to do it verbally without touching my phone.
Hey @Lightswitch, I think we can help you, send us an email at info@eKyro.com and we will look into a potential option. We understand what you're saying completely. For some context, Google and Alexa services forced this upon us after people were able control Alexa and Google Home devices with a laser (www.wired.com/story/lasers-hack-amazon-echo-google-home/). Anyways, reach out to us and we should be able to help you out. -eKyro Team
Need help with app. Installed eKyro and garage door is working fine with Smart Life app (opening, closing, notifications, ect). But with Google home, it will not open or close (it does show accurately status of door, if it's open or closed). I did try changing name of device in Google home to "My Garage door" and also to "My closet". But still won't open when using Google home button or voice control. Saying "OK Google, open my Garage door", I get response, "OK, opening Garage door". But no click comes from eKyro device. Only works with Smart Life app. I did set PIN and cleared cache, and linked apps.
Hello! One thing that comes to mind is the “Voice Control” toggle within the garage door settings. This toggle needs to be on for the device to be controlled by a Google Home or Alexa. If this doesn’t help, reach out to us at info@eKyro.com and we will get you helped out! -eKyro Team

Great video!
Just a question! You showed that you can ask google what is the door status, but can you see it in the google home app?
Great Question!
Now you are able to view the status in the app.
Thank you for asking!

Can you use voice command to open/close the garage door without a google nest speaker?
Yes!
The Voice assistant on your phone can be used if you don't use a smart speaker.

Side note, I have two other Smart Life devices (outlet sockets) and they are working fine with Google home app.
