I have a really old Stanley opener. It works really well but impossible to get replacement remotes. Years ago I added a third party receiver with remotes. I installed the smart garage door opener. Easy installation. It connected to my WiFi right away. Installing the sensor was the challenge. I had to do the same think you did by adding a piece of wood so the magnets lined up. That took the longest part of the installation time. I like that I get notified when the door gets open or closed. Thanks for the video.
I installed one of these a couple of weeks ago on a new garage door opener. The new opener had the MyQ system, but I added this smart garage device to get easy connectivity to Alexa and Siri for home automation tasks. In my case I needed the adapter from eKyro to connect the unit to my garage door oper. I reached out to eKyro, got a same day response and immediate shipment (for free) of the required adapter (essentially a new remote that you program the opener to recognize and has wires coming out to connect to the eKyro smart garage device). I paired the adapter and connected it to the eKyro device with no issue. Setting up the app for Alexa connectivity was a breeze and adding shortcuts for Siri connectivity was straightforward. The only two issue I ran into were: 1) The wire is for the open sensor is long, but was still short enough to require me to go straight from the unit to the top of the door as shown in this video. I would have preferred to run it around more and mount the magnetic switch to the side of the door. 2) I set an auto-close routine for 10pm in the app, but it doesn't seem to work. I haven't debugged why that is, since the app allows open/close of the door just fine. I will have to debug this issue a little more.
Does Siri only work on Wi-Fi? Seems to work great in home but pulling away just out of Wi-Fi range this function doesn’t work. The whole point of this is to open/close garage door as driving away.
Siri should work anywhere your phone has internet. Sometimes when you’re just pulling away from your home your phone might be switching between wifi and cellular data and there might be a little bit of time where it doesn’t work while it’s connecting to the cellular data. Your Siri should work fine once you’ve moved a bit further away. Can you confirm? -eKyro Team

@@andrekhoury6252 Are you in need of an adapter (yellow learn button) or some purple learn buttons, if so it can be requested from our website (eKyro.com)? Or are you waiting for your eKyro Smart Garage Door Opener to arrive? Please contact us via email at info@eKyro.com if you have more questions.
@@kristopherbrednner4837 it certainly is! Some liftmaster openers (typically yellow “learn” button) require an adapter to function fully. You can check at go.ekyro.com/gdocomp.
Hello Roy, if you install it without the sensor the door will always show as Open on the application. Also, since the eKyro Smart Garage Door Opener will think that the door is open, if you try to use open voice commands through Alexa or Google Home they won’t work (if the door is open, it won’t send a command when asked to open.)
Hello! It should not have affected the manual button if you reconnected the wires from the manual button. You will want both the eKyro opener and manual button connected at the same time. Reach out to us at (info@eKyro.com) if you need more assistance. -eKyro Team

Awesome! Nice work at getting the sensors lined up, depending on the setup it can be slightly tricky.

Great video I'm sold, I only hope it will work if you are away from the home like my other WiFi devices. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Troy, yes it certainly can work while you're away from home as long as your mobile device has internet connectivity (3G/4G LTE/5G).
I just bought this and mine only came with the wired sensor and not the other one, where do I contact to get the sensor?
Oh no! Send us an email at info@eKyro.com and we will get you taken care of.
