At 2:32 there's an extra half inch of bare wire hanging out the terminal block. Not a big deal in this case, it's just relay contacts. But if someone tries this with real voltage there will be guaranteed mayhem.
Great video, cool project! At 3:42 you show the device in an enclosure. What did you use for one? Covering the back of the relay seems to be important to preventing inadvertent shorts. Thanks again!
Hi. I know its a old video. But, I dont want to order it before I know if it work with Philips Hue. Do you know if it work with Philips Hue? Thanks for the great video. BR Thomas.
Thank you for the video, I did two similar to this (one for the garage door and another one for the gate) but I don't have the inching mode on smartthings and I had to add a routine for auto-off after 1 second. Now I'm after a device that will give me an indication of the gate's situation. The gate has limit switches and I want to use them for that purpose. All I need is a wifi device that whether the circuit is open or closed. Do you know such a device?
great video. i did that with the regular sunoff, but it just works if you a visual of the garage door. the software does not show the state if it is open or closed. if you are away and you want to make sure you did not forget to close the garage door, you cant..
You need another sensor which checks whether the garage is open or not. This works exactly like the button on the remote control. You do not know from the remote control whether you open or close your garage door.
my garage door opener uses 4 wires. One is COM, the second one is for opening and the third one is for closing, and 4th one is to stop. Any way I can use this device? I know I could just plug it to the opening circuit but I wouldn't be able to close the garage from the app.
I have a google smart light switch, can I replace the push button with the smart switch. The opener is a Liftmaster made in 2010 it functions with voltage from 24 volts to 240 any ideas on how to make it operate my door and the safety eyes still work.
Hi. Nice video. I have a problem. My garage unit has 6 wires connecting as up, stop, down, USD, something else and COM. Now where do I connect the cables and or will it work with mine ?
I was noticing that the smart garage door opener that you were recommending does not run on Google mesh Network. Do you have one that you could recommend that will work on Google mesh Network?
Because this only is simple electronics, the relay is either "circuit complete/circuit open", which means the relay may be able to report it when using the relay, but when the garage door is opened by the normal switch, it likely won't tell you because the relay is not the one closing/opening the circuit. They are ran in series, so they both operate independently without interference from the other.
Great video. I actually did this about a year ago. But I had recently had some issues with it. It dropped connection. But I was able to fix that through compatible mode. I have a question about “itching” what exactly is it?
Inching mode turns on for the specified amount of time and then turns back off. It’s important to use that so that it shorts the wires and acts as a button press.
@@thurm101 Probably the need for inching depends on your garage door's switch. If the completed circuit tells the opener to "keep opening/keep circuit complete while open" and "close garage door when circuit is incomplete" inching will just make the garage door go up temporarily, then right back down. You could probably fine tune the inching to match your garage door's opening time, but honestly the way you have it set up is probably easier.
Hello, i installed the module today, it doesn't work on my Chamberlain Group C410. i saw the main switch blink and the module click sound, but the door didn't open, do you know why?
It's probably connected either the wrong way wrong on the terminals on the circuit and/or the terminals on the garage door. Check your user's manual, if you don't have this look up your model no. on google along with the words "user's manual".
Hi, if I turn on inching the relay keeps on clicking. Does the inching needs to be on all the time using it as a garage door opener? Do you have a video how to use it with alexa and google home?

Al or gh can be used, just add or Sync ewelink on the assistant you want. If the device works with Alexa. The device has to be on all the time as it works on wifi.
I did this, but google only opens it. When i try to close it, nothing happens. It says door closed, but nothing happens. I have to go in ewe to close it. Any idea why?
@@TheTrainHouse I mean, it can record and report how many times you open and close the electric circuit it's hooked to 😂 "This fucker opened his garage door 24 times today!"
Hello sir , this is great , I really need to known some details about this, it's would be very helpful if u ple provide me with more details . Thank you regards
Are you asking about opening your garage door with the existing button? This was covered in the video: 1. unplug the garage door power cord 2. add 2 wires to the garage door wiring panel in addition to the wires that are already in place 3. plug a USB power module into the mains power 4. plug the garage door power cord into the mains power 5. set up the software app and test to be sure all is well

Hook it up in PARALLEL, not series. ..right?
Yes
Parallel- Yes, I noticed that too. Why would you publish a video with that kind of mistake?
Hi.

for this to work you have to be in the same Network, correct?
hi this is really smart and where can we get the device in tzaneen

Sorry for a dumb question. Can this work to close my garage door when I am in another state?
Anyway to reset this device to factory setting ?
How does the motor know where to go? To the open position, or to the close position?
It's a very helpful video, can you please tell me where I can buy that board thanks!
Can this work on a Co-z sliding gate opener? And where on the board would the 2 wires go?
You said you were going to wire it in series with the wall mount switch wires. I think you mean parallel. It's a momentary switch remember.

Hey how can see if the garage door open or close?
How can i reset this module to factory setting?
where do you connect NO and COM wires of wifi module
Can you open and close from anywhere in the world?
This thing thing is awesome. Nice little relay.
Hi how did you pair out to the app
Can it be added to Samsung smart things

mmm but what if you don't live with your smartphone in your hand. Can it also work with a remote control? You can mount it in your car.

Is this peanut butter jelly compatible??
Can this be paired with MyQ garage opener
Show me how to use on swing gate
Hello thanks for the,, vid. This will work for an electrical door? Connected to the intercommunicator button that opens the door
yes it will it supports up to 10 amps 250v AC
CAN I just take the two wires and put them on a wireless remote instead of the garage door ?
Basically trying to put it on our gate and gate is to far from wifi
but if I put the REMOTE on back of the house it can reach the wifi and the gate.
Also does the app work without being on the wifi network?
So will this tell you if the garage is closed or open?

At Tech I had to disable it. It would make the garage go up and down.

Nope
How to connect with wired open/close sensors?
Awesome work thanks
But how to connect wires?
hi thanks for the video! What case are you using for the card to sit in?
It’s just something that I custom designed and 3D printed specifically for this model.
At Tech That’s nice. I just have mine out.

The privacy statement for eWelink is over the top. I was going to use one of these until I went over the agreement. No way I would install it.
bruh it cant do anything it is a microcontroller with a wifi chip

if you are using a 5v relay on an esp8266 wifi module you can get away with 3.5v and 3.5v trigger
Can I use a phone usb charging adapter for power
Yes
How can i connectet it so i alsow have my garage door bottom to opend with?

You’re giving someone in Timbuktu or China or wherever control of your garage door. 🤔
THIS IS NOT GReat ,,,,, how do u know the door is closed or opened
The Roost garage door sensor works great for this exact issue.
@@AtTech128 How much is that ? Is there a video on how to install ?
Safest way is to see it physically. Install a CCTV to watch of it is opened or closed. It's not that expensive
