once setup to a weather web sight, will the outdoor temp still require your own physical sensor, or can is simply get the nearby temp from the web sight feed (your video only mentions it getting the time & date from the web)? also, how does it know where to get local weather from? i don't see where you get to put in a zip code, or does it figure it out based on the location data from your ISP? i ask all this because i noticed AW is selling these wifi enabled consoles alone direct to consumers on ebay without any sensor accessories.
So, to be clear - it's possible to connect a 2902(old) console AND the new upgraded 2902A console to the same outdoor station at the same time with no conflicts and they will both display the local data from the sensor array? (I'm thinking of adding an extra console for elsewhere in the house) - Thanks in advance for your help!
There are no conflicts connecting two consoles to the same outdoor sensor. You will have to calibrate the absolute and relative barometric pressure because that is calculated by the indoor sensor and there might be a slight difference between the two indoor consoles readings in pressure because of slight differences in calibration but besides that as long as the indoor consoles are within a good range of the outdoor unit they should display the same data. Many Thanks for the reply and I've since discovered that I can connect just a WS-1900 console to the 'network' which is compatible (and much cheaper) as I only need it to display the data from the outdoor array. Thanks for putting me on the right track!!
We just got our Ambient Weather 2902A everything is working except the outside temperature and humidity. It won't go below 140 degrees and shows no humidity. Any ideas? Thanks!
I would try resetting the indoor display. (Refer to the instructions in the user manual). If that doesn’t work I would call Ambient Weather, they have great customer service.
I have enjoyed my 2902A for about 2-1/2 years outside of two developments: 1) at the one-year mark, the rain assembly failed and had to be replaced, and 2) last week, the Temperature - Humidity sensor failed and cannot be replaced, requiring the entire array to be purchased for >$100. Reviewing scores of reviews only, an impressive number of reviews reports their 2902A failed at approximately 2-1/2 years. Like the great majority of these reviewers, I believe this lifespan is unacceptable, especially for a weather station in a temperate mid-Atlantic climate. Not certain if I will be continuing with ambient weather's product line, since spending ~$80 a year for parts and sensory array replacement is surely not a high-value proposition.
how to manually download data from ambient weather ws-2902a using a laptop without an internet connection? because the installation location of the device has no internet signal coverage
What remote sensors is it compatible with? What are the model or part numbers? Ambient Weather does not list what remote sensors it works with. The Web Page just says "Weather Station not included" what is a Weather Station ? To me this is a weather station and the Wind,speed and direction sensors, Rain gauges and temperature / humidity sensors are the accessories, or a weather station is this Base Unit and the remote sensors combined with each other.

Unfortunately you are unable to download the data unless you have internet connection.
