Very helpful! Makes an awesome difference to include a beginner in the tutorial and feeling like you can join in and practice at the same time. Keep it up.
Good work El! Could definitely see the progression. Always a good laugh when Jimmy's around that's for sure. One tip I can give you is to lift the pitcher a couple centimetres higher so the milk blends in better. I noticed you had the pitcher resting on the lip of the cup. Lift high when blending and drop the pitcher down when making the art. Overall, the technique is there. Did absolutely well in 30 mins!
Yeah, good work. It's coming together nicely. I have all the issues above. The tips are really helpful, especially the one on reusing the milk with a little bit of chocolate powder.
these are the giants we've heard of in the stories of old. lol no wonder she's more comfortable with the smaller pitcher, its thr same proportion to her as the bigger pitcher is to him. the big pitcher IS the 'small' pitcher to him. great vid, fun times. i rarely order milk drinks n i only just learned how to pull shots but i just work at our coffee warehouse location so im not even bothering to learn the milk part but maybe one day..
We use Kali Chocolate. A medium-body blend of fine cocoa & premium sugar, derived from West Africa. Crafted in Melbourne, this mixture sets a smooth and mellow savour. Gluten free & dairy free.
I have been practicing for a few months! Oké more than a few months😒 and then suddenly I was at friends and tried their new coffee machine! Never been so close to a decent heart! I was so happy! Turns out I don’t have the right milk steamer 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I am going to save a for a Sage coffee machine😎😎
Learnt a lot. Thank you so much. Still learning Latte Art, this is good. I've been doing coffee for a while now (7+ Months now), and wanna be a good barrister by the end of this year. So far I've managed to get the heart right. Just Rosetta to Go. I might need help. Will follow your instructions and message you's when I am ready.
I love what u doing. I love coffee, I've started working in a coffee shop recently. I'm a beginner. Just a question. What type of milk is better to have that creamy... ?)
As a beginner can you practise this with detergent drop as some suggest? I tried but it was just creamy froth without definitions. AND is the type of milk important, Ie dont use mix plant blends or soy as a beginner . Art is with the milk .... so is it full milk? I notice in the step after the blend she begins to not pause but centre in heavier so the froth comes out. I tried but just got the blob. Always a blob never the mushroom. wether it be a better mixed blob from an improved consistency . Am I tipping out too quickly ?? So fustrating. I will try again tommorrow. I have given up for now but im determined to nail it , I only have a delonghi dedica to practise on . It makes a good creamy mix of milk. I know its just me!!! Thanks for all the great videos too
Oh Michelle I can feel your frustration! You’ll get there! The detergent trick is only for practicing milk texturing, you can’t pour with it. Latte art is always easiest with full cream milk. It’s likely that you’re getting a blog because you have too much froth and you haven’t spun your milk enough to blend it. Start with a little froth and add more if it’s too thin. Thick milk won’t pour well. If your not spinning enough, the milk won’t be blended and it with seperate the milk from froth. Keep at it. Anything else I can answer for you? Jimmy ✌🏻
@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters thanks so much Jimmy . I relooked at some of your previous clips too to revise some steps. AND i bought some full cream milk. I took the Panillo off the steam wand ages ago . Im obviously ripping the milk for too long and not spinning the ratio more. ive tried to keep it to 3 seconds... Will revise the jug spout and keeping the work to the centre... will persevere..Love the you tube content you guys create XXX
If anyone watching this is frustrated that they are still having a hard time, make sure that you have good quality milk foam. It took me forever to realize that my problem was my milk foam not my art skills. If your milk is too thin it simply won’t work. I understand why they had Jimmy texture the milk for this video, but that really is the most important step when learning latte art.
Ideally, that's just standard practice. There's bound to be some grind stuck on the shower screen so a blank portafilter would help to rinse that out in a backflush
I’m a barista and sometimes I can make good latte art for a straight week but then all of the sudden I can’t make good art even tho I think I’m making the same steps. Frustrating and idk what to do. I want to be consistent. Do you have any advice for me?
This is common. It’s usually from not having a formula that you follow each time and just guessing with every pour. We use the 1,2,3 drop method to give people a pattern they can repeat and practice. Try work out a pattern for yourself and let me know how you go. Jimmy ✌🏻
How do you get the creamer to make that white silky appearance on the surface of the coffee? I haven't been able to do that so far and I think I'm steaming the milk okay.
Are you sure you have made foam? Not just heated the milk? Look at the level in the jug you start with and see how much you have raised the milk in the jug. Or is it just coming out like a blob?
@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters I found the issue! The espresso has too much foam to begin with! When I pour the steamed milk, the milk foam combined with the espresso foam create this immovable top layer. So I spooned out 90% of that espresso foam, and a miracle happened! I poured the steamed milk and it started to appear on top!
At the end did everyone get a free cup of coffee! Lol all I could think is please don't throw all that perfect coffee! Cool milk dispenser!!! I'm at a blob phase, have been for 2 months. I really want to execute anything! Something! By the holidays when my family comes home! Lol if I could pour the FIRST cup E did I'd be delighted!!
Good video, but the filming angles could be improved. It is filmed too far away and in some of the pours the cup can't even be seen due to poor filming angle.
This is good but can you teach like a group of people who don't know anything? They will all do different things wrong. She's already way better than me at latte art. I still have issues trying not to just make a very large white dot in the middle of the cup. Thanks.
Can you please pronounce " CAFFÈ LATTE correctly, it's very racist, The Coffee Culture DID NOT come from Mother England, Anglo Saxons- Celtic Australian's please have respect, If it was good enough to call me and other people's from Southern European backgrounds " WOGS " or go back to your country even though I am born Australia then have some respect, or perhaps it's time Anglo Saxons/Celtics go back to The UK, Scotland Ireland etc. Have some respect

re-using the same milk with a dusting of chocolate is genius for practice!
Sure is, 🤜🏻
buying coco powder and a shaker immediately!
some powders kill the foam
@@myname-mz3lo better to use the 'de-oiled' versions. Just for this practice.
Thats for noobs. Real coffee geeks will finally make a latte art or die trying (from a heart attack after drinking all failed drinks)
Very helpful! Makes an awesome difference to include a beginner in the tutorial and feeling like you can join in and practice at the same time. Keep it up.
I reckon it's all about the pause. That one moment (especially on the last coffee) made all the difference.
Love that Milk Dispenser...very cool
this was so informative and also that milk dispenser is GENIUS. i want that in my home

Thanks heaps for the video. And well done El! Using chocolate powder to practice the flow into the cup is a great tip.

Good equipment is a must for good latte art. Good luck with the saving ✌🏻
Thanks. Now I know how to do it. I'll give it another go. Beginner in barista myself..
Good luck!
what does all the banging do? Are you separating milk or reducing bubbles? Love these video's btw
Thanks so much. The banging of the milk jug is to pop and reduce the size of the bubbles making the milk silky and smooth :)

Low fat milk or 4% fat milk it'll give you good creamy to make art latte

Do you guys backflush your machine during the day (not just when closing). Not with chemicals but just water, like after a big rush period.
Thanks!

Yes we do, any downtime rest set the work area then flush heads if you have time.
what is the measurement of the mlik.
should have used water and soap for practice?
Is it a milk machine (faucet)? what is the name how can i find it
This is an i-milk system. You will find the company here: i-milk.com.au/

Smaller bubbles by making a smaller hiss when steaming. Then rest the milk for 10 seconds, tap out the bubbles and then swirl
Did anyone else know you could practice with hand liquid soap and water as a replacement of milk?
You sure can, check out out how to froth video for a full demo
How do I practice without wasting milk or coffee
Dish soap + water for milk, food color + water for “espresso”
