    Thanks very much for that explanation on tone break with the legend. I was totally confused on what a tone break actually did, And how adjusting the tone break made the difference between finding gold and missing it.. but your video answered a lot of my questions! Love your videos! 👍

    All my years detecting I've come to understand that necklaces, rings and other gold jewelry will hit on different numbers on any machine depending how much gold it is. 10k, 14k, 18, 24, gold items will have alloys in them. It will not be pure gold. 14k only has 58% gold and the other part is 42% alloy. 18k is 75% gold and 25% alloy, to me it's one of those hit and miss deals!! It's like you said, it all depends on what settings you are running on that day. Good info video Jeremy, I'm still learning my Legend, and I do have all my profiles set up on different settings for each

    My old Whites pulse inductor surf master with a 950 coil will find a small part of even a thin chain. Detectors don't see the chain as it's mass. They see each little link unless it's balled up when it hits a little better. So it's like seeing small pieces of slaw

    Have you tried the hidden Stability setting for small gold items? Dilek has a video explaining that if you set it to 1, you can detect them. The more you turn it up, the more chance you will miss those small gold items. I wasn’t sure if the tone break settings you were explaining was the Stability setting.

    • @PaystreakSuperfreak
      @PaystreakSuperfreak  2 роки тому +4

    • @billbarry2984
      @billbarry2984 4 місяці тому

      No, tone break is not the stability settings, two different things! Go to your recovery icon and tap the pinpoint once and it takes you to your ST settings! I run mine anywhere between 3-5, whatever I can get away with when I'm on the beach as I don't like a chatty detector.

    Hi Jeremy, I’ve used the Simplex+ for years and had great success. I just got my Legend a couple of weeks ago. Upgraded to v1.09. I’m frozen out with deep snow until spring so I’m watching videos and playing with the settings so I can hit the ground running.
    What adjustments would you make to this video now that v1.09 has iron bias and stability settings for park and field modes?
    Love your videos ❤️

      I have been using single frequencies and have been doing very very well. Single frequency does not have the iron filter or stability settings. If I am running multi, I set the iron filter at 1 and stability setting adjust to soil and keep tone break at 10 60 tone

    pretty simple tone break makes small foil and small gold sound like iron unless you change the tone break,anytime anywhere your going to dig nails,birdshot,staples,tiny foil if you want to find gold,40kz should have no problem hitting it.With the vdi only going to 60 instead of 100 like the simplex you just have to know what numbers that small gold ids at and set your tones accordingly,its not an issue of the machines ability at all.It should smoke the simplex at 20kz much less 40kz because tbe simplex is 12kz.My 19kz gold bug hits gold better than silver.

    I would have liked that, while you are explaining stuff, the LEGEND it´s on silence or at a very low sensitivity (because all that noise does not let me put a lot of attention to what you are saying). Other than that: great video! Thankks!

  • @MrBottlecapBill
    @MrBottlecapBill 2 роки тому

    No M2? That's the multi mode for lower conductors, I would think that would be the way to go. Or mono 40khz? You can see the position of the gold also matters. Horizontal and it doesn't like it, probably thinks it's a nail. That's where that lower iron bias setting will come in handy I suspect.

    I’m shocked that the legend have a problem with two last gold chains, they are not so small, not so thin.

    • @MrBottlecapBill
      @MrBottlecapBill 2 роки тому +2

      The problem is a chain acts like a coin spill. One coin(single chain link) sounds great, a pile of coins(multiple chain links) often sound like iron or bounce around like can slaw. The reason is the machines don't know what kind of metal is in the ground they only guess based on multiple factors that are then compared to known targets to give you a number and sound. Gold being a very low conductor and gold chains almost always having non uniform shapes are very hard to ID. That's why traditionally higher frequency was the only way to go but the talent in the field is improving and machines are getting better. I've been detecting for 12 years and NEVER found a real gold chain. Only silver or fakes which are made of higher conductive metals giving the machines a bit of help on identification. The only way to find those chains is literally clean every target out of your parks, playground and beaches. The larger beefy chains will hit on most machines but once you get to fine links you have get lucky and have a pendant on it, or a large clasp........otherwise you'll need to dig every piece of foil, every tiny bit of can slaw, every ketchup packet, every piece of wire .....you get the point.

      I can't see what I said that you are replying to, but maybe it's about some gold item sounding off with an iron tone because of the tone breaks? It's really about how much junk you want to dig to find a small gold target. Nokta apparently has less tolerance for that than you, judging by their choice of defaults, although they did lower them a bit since then - just not as low as you.
