    I just bought this endoscope today. I ordered from home depot and they had it for a price of $60, and I opened a home depot credit card and got $25 off. Will pick it up at the store and if unit is defective I can return to store for refund. For $35 bucks it's a steal. Lots of vids on this product so you can see quality is pretty darn good.

    Exactly what I need (next month). I snapped during the cold spell and bought 7 catalytic heaters from eBay. I needed an intervention, but no one was around.
    I've had a pickup truck parked for 3 years now with no compression. With that I could see if I washed the cylinders or have stuck rings.

      Vevor actually contacted me asking me if I wanted to test a weather station thing.... I wasn't really interested, so I took a while to respond... When I finally did, they asked me to test this, and I was like "awesome" .... Because I had asked them for one of these several months ago, haha.

    I just want to add: The Vevor link also gets you the option of an articulated model with 6.4mm camera head.
    You'll get this 6.4mm size inside most modern direct injected Diesel cylinders and then can turn the camera easily towards sidewall and valves.
    This model costs twice as much here in Germany as the model you showed us, but it is still a bargain for this type of borescope with this size of camera head.
    I would prefer a camera below 6 mm diameter, because some injector holes are only 6 mm. But Vevor didn't offer a thinner head than 6.4mm.
    I'd recommend paying twice the price, if you're looking for a camera especially for the task of inspecting internal combustion engines.
    I did buy a 6mm dual lens borescope in 2022, because the articulating camera type with the thinner camera was still very expensive back then - but i regret it.
    Because i'm so much interested in inspection of valves and spying for cracks in cylinder heads, that i would not buy mine again.
    The 107,~ € Vevor articulating borescope with 6.4mm camera would probably be my choice today.
    Or i'd even buy a much more expensive model with 3,9 mm camera. Just to be save to get it in every direct injected Diesel.
    You cannot inspect old style indirect injected Diesel engines with any camera, unfortunatelly - unless it's a type with externally removable precombustion chamber.

    Looks like I'm ordering a new camera! haha! I literally just bought an amazon special, which plugs into my phone, via USB, but it doesn't have the side cameras. Also, it's on my phone, which I don't like handling when I'm elbows deep into an engine! I'm gonna get one for sure.
    Also, what did you end up finding wrong with the little gennie? I recall hearing from one mechanic one day, quite a few years ago, that certain manufacturers won't warranty their engines if they are run on dyed fuel. Did that have anything to do with the failure? I was thinking the rings were likely stuck in the grooves from all that reddish carbon in the combustion chamber.
    Great video man!

    • @loweredexpectations4927
      @loweredexpectations4927  6 місяців тому +1

      Haha !! I'm going to have to stop testing products or it's going to lead to your bankruptcy ! haha.
      I really could have used it a month or so ago when trying to diagnose the oil leak on Megan's dad's truck.
      This generator didn't have any real issues, except that, I believe, Megan's crazy farmer uncle, thought it was a good idea to run ATF in the engine... or mix ATF and oil. It also had died fuel, but the engine oil was a dirty red color... and I'm guessing he wasn't running redline oil, haha.
      You could see that the piston was a little wet looking as well as a little wetness around the top of the bore... I'd say the thin ATF was getting past the rings a little. The low compression was actually just because it has an automatic compression release.

    So I've had to update my priority list of cold weather survival plans.
    A. Wood stove
    B. Catalytic heaters
    C. Diesel heater/ tap dancing
    D. Under my -32°F sleeping bag in my insulated coveralls, with my dog and probably all twenty something cats, waiting to die and be eaten.
    Don't know what to say about the diesel heater as an actual survival tool. I'll tell you the truth, if that was all I had, I would not have made it through that long cold snap, or the animals. The water would have frozen solid along with everything else.
    I put a bigger (1-1/2") exhaust pipe on it leading out. Ported the flashing out out the exhaust hole with a round hand file, and cleaned the burn tube out and torched the carbon out of the area below the shelf. I shined a light in there and focused on it like it was a human size target at 500 yards. I could see the screen you were talking about, it looks brass and when I got my final E-10 code, I see that they call it a volitilization net.
    So I did all that and it ran flawlessly all day. Next day it ran for a while and then the soot in the exhaust pipe and an E-10.
    You had said I may have to buy a new burner head. I can see why, once carboned always carboned underneath the shelf. In a survival situation ordering another burn chamber would be impossible, especially since they come from China.
    So I'm left with 2 options at this point, my Vevor heated ultrasonic cleaner, or cut the horn off as you did.

    • @loweredexpectations4927
      @loweredexpectations4927  6 місяців тому +1

      I love your list...
      E-10 is a low battery ? You were getting an E-10 code ?
      If you cut the end off like I did, you need to make sure to use shims like I do, that act as a seal when reassembling, otherwise fuel will just run out the exhaust. I just recieved 3 burn chamber.. and had already ordered one earlier / last year...

    • @tjhouston4916
      @tjhouston4916 6 місяців тому +1

      Nope, my Chinese Vevor book says:
      E-10 check whether the oil circuit is blocked or the oil transportation is not smooth, the oil pump is stuck, the volitilization net is blocked due to the oil product problem, and other reasons that cause that 2 ignition fails to burn normally.
      I think all the weaknesses this heater has are stated right there. Once it's carboned up, you're screwed.
      A far better solution would be if you could just unscrew the barrel just above the screen so you can really get in there easily to clean it good.

    • @loweredexpectations4927
      @loweredexpectations4927  6 місяців тому

      @@tjhouston4916 I didnt' know what E-10 was so I looked it up, earlier, and I guess Google was wrong, haha.
      My book says E-10 is that the heater has attempted to start twice, and wasn't able to... Basically . They give you all of this "what it might be" but all it really means is that the heater won't fire up.
      Is your flame initiation hole clear ? The 3mm hole by the fuel line ... Maybe try jumping 12 V to your glow plug like I did in my "no ecu" video.... just don't put power to it for more than 10 seconds. Altho, your heater will error out if you unplug your plug...
      I have operated my heater in some pretty sad states, and it would almost always start up on diesel, even if I didn't clean it very well. It's odd to me that you're having so much trouble.
