I've had my 2010 6 cyl for 14 years and I've had zero issues. It shifts like a dream and I've only had to replace the battery and brakes. I got it for around 36,000 and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made
Bought a 2013 5 years ago, kids loved the car More than me😂... Got stolen last October, found it back last Saturday, it was so crazy seeing The car again with everything as it was, even my daughters car seat was still inside. Battery was dead, one deflated tire. Best car ever.
Brought the wife’s Venza to Germany, faster to 60 than 7 seconds, sticks in the snow, 110 on the autobahn all day long. They messed up marketing that one. Such a good car
I bought my 2012 in 17’ with 30k. Now in 2024 it has 70k. I love in car. It’s pearl white, when I’m walking away from it I always turn around. Look at it, it looks beautiful, I keep it spotless. I have it oil sprayed every fall, she’s a keeper. I also own a 2020 RAV4 limited premium, that’s also a joy, but I still love my VENZA limited with the V6 and the glass roof.
LOVE MY VENZA!! 2013 AWD LE with 175k miles and same color and trim as this clip. I don’t know what you were expecting from the “Camry Hatchback” but the Venza is an underrated lifer car!
I have a 2009 4cyl Venza for the past 4yrs. With 140.000ish miles. Bought with 70.000ish miles, one owner. It's not really underpowered when I gas it. My car has a quick take off and it's low maintenance.
2010 3.5 L Why are you confused? 4 dr car with 212K miles and runs like a top. Great car. Think of it as a modern station wagon that never breaks down.
Wow, that's amazing! I'm looking to buy one for around $5k and been finding 2010ish around 165k-210k and I was worried about getting one that high of miles. Did the transmission hold up that long too?? Were there any big repairs that I should be looking for around the 200k mark?
We were fortunate to inherit a 2014 Limited AWD V6 with under 80K kms (!) Yes, it resembles a big muscular wagon. Yes it suits older folks who need ease of access (3 knee replacements between my wife and I ). Yes it has power to spare, a great sound system, nice design and great reliability. Very pleased with ride and suspension but really, it's just broken in. Only minor complaint is the panoramic rear sunroof prevents roof racks from being used so we bought a rear hitch cargo rack for loaded road trips with luggage, food, pets etc. Venza's may be awkward to define but for us, it's like winning a lottery.
really no reason to put a full glass roof on a car....my only complaint on my 2013....but, yakima does make rack for it, got it, but the details on installing were wrong from yakima as far as where the towers go...and the depressed portion of roof by door where the towers go.
It was a “Crossover” like the Honda version was a crossover. Not sure where you got a 1,000lb tow limit maybe the 4 cylinder but the V6 was 3,500 or more. LOVE my 2010 V6 which has 124+k miles now. Besides regular maintenance i did change out the 20” rims to 18” 2023 Highlander rims. It is quieter and smoother and Tires cost much less then the 20” and I kept the same hight. Most people are impressed then I say its 2010.
@Joe-cu4hi Curious whether you were able to sell the 20” rims and/or the tires on them. Looking into buying a Venza and might want to downgrade to 17” or 18” rims for similar ride quality / tire price reasons.
What would you say to a 2009 with 100k for $5k? I just got one from a family member for that. I sold my 2014 carolla with 160k for $7k.its definitely a step up in room, power, and features.

I purchased a 2015 AWD 2.7L with 23k miles for 17,750$ in 2018. Best dam station wagon on the road 110 k miles now. Oil changes and brakes only. Never have I replaced a light bulb. Electronics are bulletproof. So im looking at another 100k payment free. They should still be making this model. When they hit a sale lot, they are sold guickly.
Could have been one of the coolest bad ass vehicles Toyota ever made~ but its too damn wide and has that mini van vibe to it. It just needed to be reworked, but they were too busy trying to please the soccer mom family types with the design.
We bought a 2009 last year with 175k on it. It runs great and has the panoramic sunroof. We had to pay $400 to get the sunroof resealed. Ours leaks nothing. It's a super clean car. My wife loves it. Negatives, No memory seats.
2013 Venza with 60,000 miles and 4 new Landcaster tires. The ride is much quieter with these tires than the original Bridgestones . I'm 70 and I believe this car is going to outlast me. I bought it new and have no regrets.
My 2014 venza 2.7 xle fwd with 76k miles has the worst suspension I’ve ever felt. They came like this from factory 😢. And now I’m dealing with all the calipers glazing my brake pads making the wheel vibrate when breaking…
BUY BUY BUY! My 2013 is amazing! The reason why they stopped is because it was so similar to the chassis as the Lexus RX but for $20000 less. I disagree with all his comments. Runs smooth, hardly any outside noise, great handling in and out of snow (I've never been stuck in snow), feels like a spaceship with tons of room driving and in back seat. Family of 5 loves how safe the car feels. Crazy review, if you find a first addition Venza with low miles on it....BUY It!
Jeb, that’s why I like my Venza. I call it a “poor man’s Lexus RX”. Maybe not the luxury appointments, but the same drivetrain. That’s why I wanted it…long-term reliability.
My family owns a 2013 Venza which we bought new and is now driven about 100k miles. The ride is very smooth over bumps (we live in Ukraine where roads are quite bad), I’ll say it is a bit too soft compared to my 2014 BMW X3. The example must be worn out at 200k miles or running runflats.
I disagree with you 100%. I've never liked Toyota I'm more of a Pontiac GTO guy however I've owned a 2009 Venza since November of last year and it has a little bit of get up and go It's very smooth riding and overall I like the car I think it's very roomy The seats are comfortable The sound system is amazing so I'm very blessed to have this car and I got it for real good deal and the people that had it before me took really good care of it so yeah
I think you have some crappy worn out tires on that Venza. Bad tires will give "A Bad Driving Experience" with any vehicle. Those are 20" wheels and 4 tires will set you back an min. of $1k. Wife is driving 2015 Venza V6 with low miles and is very happy with it. It is a nice riding vehicle.
I got a 2009 V6 Venza for $11k with 44k miles. Currently coming up on 120k miles and no real issues. Suspension is clunky and the brake rotors do get torn up pretty quick, but it's a reliable vehicle to run the kids around in.
I’ve got the 09 with the v6 just rolled over 220 thousand I’ve owned it 8 years you need new struts replaced mine a while back other than that replaced water pump last week been a great car I like it the look of it is one of the reasons I bought it other than being a Toyota
Do your homework sir. The V6 tows 3500lbs the 4 cylinder tows 1000lbs get it right. And the All Aluminum 2.7L has plenty of power mated to the same transmission 6 speed rock crusher never breakdown transmission
I just bought my second Venza, I had a 2009 that I traded for a Honda Pilot for my wife but I loved the venza and recently got me a 2011 and I'm in love with it, zero issues btw 140k
Only tows 1,000 lbs? You may have been referring to the 2.7L, 4 cyl version, as my '13 Venza V6 Limited (same engine as the one you reviewed there, although 2 yrs newer) is rated at 3500 lbs. Mine has fewer miles - 120k, and I'd say it handles more like a car. Had 70k on it when I got it used in '17. Maybe the review vehicle has harder miles on it? Mine has no leaks, AFAIK - definitely no timing chain cover leak. I've done two drain & fills on the transmission, and had the rear diff changed, so that might help prevent leaks. My greatest disappointment with the vehicle is the head unit - the 13 speaker JBL with hard disc based GPS. The sound of the system is adequate, and satisfactory. But whereas the earlier units with GPS were flash memory based, and could be updated with a CD, the HD based GPS will update exclusively through a dealer, at a cost of some $350+. It will play mp3 off of a USB stick, which is a plus. But the user interface for that feature, as well as the GPS is abysmal - providing bare minimum functionality. I use a stand-alone Garmin most of the time for GPS - still not as good as the old Tom-Tom I had 12 - 15 years ago, but better than the Toyota offering. I'm not inclined to gamble the cost of an update, only to find out that the upgrade offers no interface improvement.
If you wanted your Limited JBL stereo to sound much, much better simply disconnect the center speaker. Cleans up the muddy ish sound and is super easy to do.
@@Johnnyk999 right at the speaker, the cover pops off easily. I still listen to podcasts, talk shows ect and it sounds perfectly fine without it. The big improvement is in all music.
i have 2010 v6 14 yrs no problem but last few month i got it 's suddern death with few minutes blashing battery error found it is alternator was bad no charging. My fault did not check it for along time! but i love it felling safe when driving when bad weather rainning, snow.,.,(148500 mil)
2010 Venza with 188k miles, $7200. 21mpg, durable interior, easy access, plenty of cargo room. Hauls my trailer and Atv no problem, plenty of power,Awd. I also own a 2007 Avalon with 260k miles that I paid $3200 6 years ago. They both have toyota reliability. I live in North Central Wisconsin and the rust is minimal, mainly the frame and zero on the body. The only issue I have had is getting the dealer to make a second key fob for the push button starter, the antenna is not working on the switch and it looks like l will have to get the push button switch replaced.
The major difficulty you seem to have with this is that it doesn't fit into any "category" and that I don't understand. Is it so vital that you need to repeatedly mention it?
Russell, last year when I bought my 2015 Venza, I was also looking at RAV-4s and CR-Vs…about the same sized vehicles but the Venza was like $4000 less expensive when considering the year, trim, and mileage.
love my venza....tons of dirt road, 2 track driving and at 120K struts being replaced by me...otherwise, great clearance, great hauler...can load half a house in it...back seats down. love it. the comments about what is it just makes no sense...perhaps you are too young to remember station wagons....luckily this is big enuff but not like the big honking station wagons of the past.
My 2010 2.7L is blowing up at 216k.... big sad. I always loved the rear seats for designated driving, and I drove some Uber/Lyft in it and got so many compliments on the rear space. I slept in the back with the seats down more times than I can count! I made it through a mud pit even with FWD, just gotta take the right line and floor it lol, just enough ground clearance for camping/hiking/MTB access. But it always made super weird noises. So loud I always got comments from anyone who rode in or drove my car, but tons of "experts" all said it was a sound from a different part of the car, so no one will ever know what it was.
The style, comfort, space, utility, reliability, and dependability of this model should be your focus, not your senseless confusion. Your lack of knowledge of Toyotas and the Venza model in general makes me want one even more now. Thanks for wasting my time. 🙄
@@shia8377 I just won it at an auction. 2009 dark grey. 117k miles actually. Leather interior. No sunroof or navigation. 4 cyl 2.7. With no rust. Southern car. One owner. Changed oil every 3-4k miles. Clean title. I got it for 6469.
We love our 2012 Venza, Bought at 60K.145K now. 2.7L 4 cyl. Very reliable. Large, AWD vehicle, still 20/21 mpg. Minimal repairs. One wheel bearing, one serpentine belt & tensioner, back shock assemblies, front brakes once, tires once, battery once, fog lamps once, headlights once. That's it!! Yes, not the smoothest ride but not a deal-breaker either IMO. VERY IMPORTANT: Change fluids regularly. Especially 5K oil changes, never more. Change tranny pan oil (about 2-1/2, to 3 qts.) at every engine oil change. Rear and front differentials (if AWD) every 30K. DO NOT GO BY DEALER MAINTENANCE INTERVAL RECOMMENDATIONS. You'll have it a long time.
I call it a wagon in the Outback category, except it's Toyota. A wagon is what I want. I looked at the Venza ground clearance because of snow, wheel base and tire size, sits higher than a Matrix, Venza is similar to my neighbor's old Outback. Venza compares in my outlook if you want a wagon, which I do, and don't want something bigger like a Sienna type because of tight parking inner urban life. An older RAV4 would be out of my price range still but I'm saving my money. I'm moving past my Tundra and wish Toyota would have small pickups.
Am I the only one that thinks this looks relatively good to other “competitors.” It’s a weird car that no one really wants so these cars are priced way lower and are a steal.
Slim, when I bought my 2015 Venza last year (w/ 100K miles), I was also looking at RAV-4s and CR-Vs which are similar sized vehicles. But I paid $4000 less than these higher-demand vehicles, considering year, mileage and trim. Because the Venza is not a high demand vehicle, you can get one for less and still have the reliability.
@@igronDC I have the 2.7L 4cyl and I’ve never had a problem getting up to highway speed or passing slower traffic. If I was towing a boat or a camper, then yeah I’d need a V6, but I just do normal everyday driving and the 2.7L does just fine.
I have a 4 cyl 2013 Venza XLE with 70k miles on it. Overall it's been a great ride! My suspension is smooth and absorbs a lot of the road bumps, so this Venza in the review probably just needs news shocks. The 4 cyl is definitely a little underpowered, but it's not that bad once you cycle through the 6 gears. I have Michelins on mine and overall the road noise is minimal compared to other Toyotas we've owned ( like our 2012 Rav 4). It's a roomy car with plenty of practicality, it just needs a slight face lift!
Where you live matters; the awd venza is fantastic in snow. It's the go to car in the winter in my family, beating out the Tundra and Grand Cherokee. As for the rough ride, its those 20" rims. Swap them for some 18's and the ride gets much better. The v6 and 6spd auto is hard to beat for reliabilty, many reaching 300k miles. This is the same powertrain as highlanders and lexus rx350's. Like most toyota's the venza isnt exceptional at anything, its just a good, reliable, well built car. At 75k miles & 11yrs old, I've replaced the battery, front brakes and brake light switch (less than 1k in total).
I just bought the 2024 Venza Limited. I love it! The newer gen has a better look to them, in my opinion. Being the hybrid, I range anywhere from 42-50 mpg! Better than the camry I had. The only thing I would say, I wish the cargo was more spacious. But for just me, it wasn't a deal breaker.
300k is a big ask for any car (even toyota) but if it's well cared for you should get a lot of use out of it. I just do not like how these handled at all. Thanks for watching!
You apparently didn’t do your homework on the towing capacity of the 3.5 L engine, as it is 3500 not 1000 pounds. I’ve been towing my camper that has a gross vehicle weight rating of 3500 lbs with no problem with my 2009 Venza, 3.5 L engine. Get your facts straight before you do these kinds of videos and mislead the public.
Good review. I appreciate your honest analysis. I like what I see of the vehicle and it's features. Im still uncertain if I'll buy one?? We currently have a Subaru Outback grill what I would say was a bad prior owner and we are NOT satisfied with the 06 Outback 3.0R. So far it has been riddled with problems. I much prefer a mediocre Toyota over a Subaru
I've had my 2010 6 cyl for 14 years and I've had zero issues. It shifts like a dream and I've only had to replace the battery and brakes. I got it for around 36,000 and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made

@@dadsoutdoors Thanks, I will check that out. Typically done by disconnecting the wire at the speaker in the dash, or the harness at the amplifier?
@@Johnnyk999 right at the speaker, the cover pops off easily. I still listen to podcasts, talk shows ect and it sounds perfectly fine without it. The big improvement is in all music.
@@dadsoutdoors Thanks for the response, I'll try it.
i have 2010 v6 14 yrs no problem but last few month i got it 's suddern death with few minutes blashing battery error found it is alternator was bad no charging.
It6's got high miles on the shocks / struts.
With a new set I'm sure the ride would feel much better.
The major difficulty you seem to have with this is that it doesn't fit into any "category" and that I don't understand. Is it so vital that you need to repeatedly mention it?
Russell, last year when I bought my 2015 Venza, I was also looking at RAV-4s and CR-Vs…about the same sized vehicles but the Venza was like $4000 less expensive when considering the year, trim, and mileage.
love my venza....tons of dirt road, 2 track driving and at 120K struts being replaced by me...otherwise, great clearance,
great hauler...can load half a house in it...back seats down. love it. the comments about what is it just makes no sense...perhaps
you are too young to remember station wagons....luckily this is big enuff but not like the big honking station wagons of the past.
Love my Venza.
Purchased an 09 with 144k miles. Terrible paint and musty smell inside. Other than that, it’s reliable
Did your sun roof leak?
What an emotional roller-coaster...thanks!
Haha I was waiting for you to watch this one 🤣 I was genuinely surprised how unimpressive it was
The v6 AWD actually tows 3500 lbs
I just bought a 2009 with 111k miles. It's great but I'm still figuring it out. It looks just like this. Very clean though.
How much did you pay? I am also looking at an 09 111k miles coincidentally and saw this comment
@robertp9370 8,400
@@shia8377 I just won it at an auction. 2009 dark grey. 117k miles actually. Leather interior. No sunroof or navigation. 4 cyl 2.7. With no rust. Southern car. One owner. Changed oil every 3-4k miles. Clean title. I got it for 6469.
@@robertp9370 nice, mine is fully loaded. Double sunroof and all. 1 owner too. Super clean. I didn't even argue with the price.
@@shia8377 with that double sunroof, I probably wouldn’t have either. Mine doesn’t have that
We love our 2012 Venza, Bought at 60K.145K now.
I'm moving past my Tundra and wish Toyota would have small pickups.
put new tires on it and it will drive better, the nouise ,the rough ride tires. ( michelin )
A buy? 200k miles speaks for itself.
With tow package it gets up to 3,500#
Am I the only one that thinks this looks relatively good to other “competitors.” It’s a weird car that no one really wants so these cars are priced way lower and are a steal.
In which way 2.7 terrible?? Lol owning 2.7 and 100% enjoying it
Typical murican. Anything under 3.0 is terrible
@@mk3tsi must be V8 or at least V6. 4cyl not on the list lol
2.7 is waaaay to underpowered. Speaking from the experience
@@romanskyL to do what? 0-60 or drive within the speed limits?
It's a roomy car with plenty of practicality, it just needs a slight face lift!
the suspension were updated in the facelift 13-15 to address the harsh ride
@@ArmyofSeaturtles Good to know 😁
I call this color -Toyota Baby Poop Brown.
Every time I changed the oil in one of these it sounded like shit on initial start for a good 20 seconds.
I own an 09, it rides much better on 17s or 18s - the stock 20s are heavy and I didn't like the ride comfort
I need one how much
it tows more then that,i think it tows 3500.lbs.
These are rating easiest entry and exit for the elderly. Trying to get my 80yo mother in law to trade her traverse for one.
I have a 2012 with 59k miles, it is now 2024 I constantly get compliments people think it's much newer. I have the bronze color limited awd
How many miles on it? Any problems, how many miles can this last 300k?
300k is a big ask for any car (even toyota) but if it's well cared for you should get a lot of use out of it. I just do not like how these handled at all. Thanks for watching!
I am not confused 😅😂 you may be, it is a vehicle that is may to serve a purpose..
3500lbs towing for the V6, 1000lbs for the 4 banger.
2009 V6 bought new and still have it. Fast but not the smoothest and quietest ride.
Kinda a sport wagon.
2010 @ 270k
V6 or 4 cylinder?
@robertp9370 4
Can you do a review on Glk350 2015
Perfect surf vehicle can fit a 10ft surfboard
Dawg why you so damn loud? Voice echoing around the whole property lmao
mine just got a 152k miles
worn out suspension. replace the struts.
Why so negative ?? It's a reliable upscale toyota.. would u rather have a not reliable car that a few years
Great vehicle
I have one has 90k miles I want 8k
You apparently didn’t do your homework on the towing capacity of the 3.5 L engine, as it is 3500 not 1000 pounds. I’ve been towing my camper that has a gross vehicle weight rating of 3500 lbs with no problem with my 2009 Venza, 3.5 L engine. Get your facts straight before you do these kinds of videos and mislead the public.
I actually like it
Who would gift me this dream car? I will truely appreciate.
Do we have millions in bank accounts in your country 🤔? Then YOU should be gifting US !!! 😊 Truely appreciate Honesty not Scams 😒
The car is obviously a lowered Toyota Highlander
My dad has one
If it's what someone needs to there serve what it was designed; go toyota...
Toyota always cheaps out on their interiors. They are actually some of the worst I’ve seen on a number or their models
I would agree. Thanks for watching!
Your crazy and wrong
i own one dont buy it. it is not any good.
Car word design not for looks...
