One big word of caution about these Venzas, especially if you get the all-wheel drive v6 version. If you buy one used like we did, try to make sure as best you can that the person who had it before you did had the regular maintenance on the rear differential performed. We bought our 2011 Venza used with 78,000 mi on it. 5,000 mi later, the rear differential completely blew out because the previous owner never did it. Almost $6,000 later we'll be getting a new differential this week. Toyotas can and will last forever, but you have to maintain them. The differentials need serviced (drain and fill) every 30,000 miles. And there's no real way a mechanic can know if the differential is almost shot, because there is no module that sends information to the computer like there is with the engine and transmission. It is completely dependent on getting that fluid service done on a regular schedule. Just an FYI.
A good mechanic (old school who can touch, shake, listen and tell what is wrong) will put your venza on jacks and tell you if it is good or bad. The sensor/computer stuff is for newbies who only know how to read a screen and tell you what it says, no knowledge of their own.
The best car I ever owned, my daughter got into an accident with my 2009 and car was written off, she was fine and without a scratch ,the beast kept her safe, I was devastated, the only way to relieve my pain was to buy another one!!! The 09 was a v6 base and now a 2016 limited ,had to go all out on the next one! If I could change one thing it would definitely be fuel mileage other than that we LOVE it!!! Only Venza drivers no Venza! My Venza is the only one in the parking lot at work which makes me feel like a luxury car owner and I'm the only one in on the secret of Venza!
I worked p/t for used car dealer so twice a week a group of us drove cars to the auction and drove other cars back to his lot. I sold Cadillac & Oldsmobiles for 17 years. Driven them all for Rolls Royce to Corvettes. I was looking for a low mileage 4 wheel/all wheel drive vehicle. One day driving back in an older Venza I noticed it drove smooth and had a lot of pickup, I fell in love with that model of Toyota. By chance one Sat. AM on line I found a 2 year old Venza (2014) with 10,000 miles on it. Loved the style, it was virtually new car so I bought it. It's is the only Toyota I like to this day and the only foreign car I have ever bought! The rest of the Toyota line up , Highlander, Rav4 (what the hell is that anyway!) are ugly and overpriced! Most people just buy anything regardless of looks. I can park my Venza next to a new Highlander knowing my Venza has better styling and an enormous amount of room inside.
“Most people just buy anything regardless of looks” Or maybe people have different opinions? Is that possible, or is your opinion correct and anyone who disagrees is wrong? Dummy
Insights. 1. Get the 2wd not awd, the awd easily get destroyed if maintenance not done and can mess up the transmissions. 2. Get the 4cl not v6. I4 gets Better mpg. The v6 has more problems and is very expensive to fix as any major repair the v6 must be removed from the car.
Just stumbled upon the Venza at a used car dealer. What a sleeper! Fun to drive, just the right amount of luxury feel, roomy. Your "hates" about the car say it all. There's just not that much not to like
I'm not sure what year your vehicle is maybe I missed it at the beginning but the 2023 Venza just came out so how is it that they don't make this vehicle anymore? and also I have the same car and mine has the memory for the seating right on the door so I'm surprised this one does not I love my Venza
Hey. Do you keep your fob in the same pocket as your phone? I had the same problem with my prius. I was changing the battery more often than I liked. I talked to a car buddy and he said it could be phone interference. I stopped keeping the key and phone in the same pocket and didnt change batteries ever again.
I loved the video fam..i have a 2013 Venza and had trouble starting it...i dont know if its a battery issue seeing that the lights came on the dash board ..but not the engine ....please help.
@@GemmyDonCarsmine is a total money pit! Everything breaks on it! You all got lucky. Don't buy an 09' V6.. Word the the wise, from an old Toyota lover. Not with this one 👎 POS car!
I was shocked that you are having replace your key battery every 6 months. I've had my 2010 Venza for about 6 years and have only had to replace mine once.
1. My 2013 Limited gets 22 mph combined. 2. My Limited has heated memory seats. 3. The Venza is back for 2021,Toyota retired it due to competing sales with their Lexus RX 350. 4.Splitting hairs with the “Panel Gap” complaint! 5. Buy Duracell batteries for the key. I get one year plus. I have owned appx. 25 cars in my life. The Venza is my favorite car by far! And I bought it used!
I have a 2015 Venza for 2 years. Love it. I went to look at your complaints and those aren’t on my car. I do have memory for the seats. Gas mileage wouldn’t come up but I had the fuel changed last night so maybe that’s why. Love this car. I got newer? Michelin tire that takes it to another level and I didn’t notice tires before. I did replace the key battery about 3 months ago. My complaint is the roof rack? I can’t find an alternate for Toyota version/ it sets too close to the sun roofs.
Mine is a 2011 white pearlescent AWD 6 CL. Fit and finish seems to be perfect. Milage average is 21.5 local driving. I only have 55 thousand on it and it looks like new. Only a couple of tiny rock chips on the tip of the hood. My only problem with it is that I don't want to trade it! I have had 3 Mazdas during the time I've had this Venza. Normally, I would be trading but the Venza looks so god damn good! The trade in value doesn't reflect the intrinsic value I see in the car. Knowing what I know about the Venza I would pay way more for a used 2011 than the going rate. I still feel like I'm driving a new car when I'm in it. No one else has one around here. It's such a head turner for a crossover. It's not boxy at all. I don't ever want to give it up and that, paradoxically, is what I don't like.
I own a 2014, since new, best car ever. (I had a 2013, but it was stolen in 2014) I now have 144,000 Km (90,000 miles). oil changes, brakes, filters, and one broken rear strut. V6 Limited AWD, upgraded radio. Lots of power. (My previous car was 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi) so to me gas mileage is fantastic. After all this time, the car runs like new, smooth and responsive.
130k miles. Just drove from Vegas to DC. So comfortable on long drives. No payments for 5 years now. For me, best car ever. FYI if you want a scenic tour take US70. US40 was BORING.
Ok.. I love my 2009 Venza. I’ve had people offer to buy it. It runs like a top and is great in snow. Instead of moaning about your wife’s car, take care of your lawn...LOL 😝
I'm thinking about trading my 2012 rogue with 92k miles for a 2009 venza with 130k miles.... reliability is my main thought Lol. the venza is also a higher package than my rogue. heated leather seats, awd. etc.
I bought my 2009 Venza new and love it!! After 218+ thousands miles it just starting to give me problem with the timing chain; I will replace it and continue to drive
Bought used2011 v6. Great car. Now has over 200k. Had to repl. Alternator and cv. Gets 20 mpg in town ,25-27 on road. Comfy n roomy. What else could u ask for. An affordable Lexus RX
Love our 09 V6 AWD 250K with just regular maintenance. Didn't even notice the panel gap until a few months ago. MPGs aren't as advertised but it's been consistent since new. Keeping ours forever
I have 340,000km on a 2011 V6 FWD and it has always gotten 9.5 l/100km = 24.7 USMPG average, and just under 9.0 on long highway trips at 10-15k over the limit. Gets a little better in hot weather. Have you ever checked mileage the old-fashioned way to verify that the readout is reasonably accurate? Venza is the most comfortable and by far most reliable car I've ever had, only complaints I have are the massive blind spots and the expensive tires. Also have a 2011 Highlander AWD V6, it actually gets slightly better mileage but it's not nearly as robust and reliable as the Venza has been.
You have to take into account that gas mileage is cumulative and includes when the driver is just sitting there with the car on in the drive-thru, waiting for her kid at soccer practice, on the cell phone outside of the department store. I never count cumulative gas mileage. I pretty much go by the gas mileage I get on trips, that's what's more accurate.
Love my Venza 2012....156Ks if city and hwy driving... never had a problem... I always used synthetic oil changes and the original Toyota brake pads.the tire pressure lights do come on sometimes...damn shame it's discontinued though...
I love my 2009 Venza; it has just starting to give me problems the timing chain after 218+thousands miles. I will repair it and keep driving the Venza 2009
We have a 2013 Venza V6 AWD and owned it since new. We consistently average 21 MPG with about 60/40 hwy/city. We get about 23 hwy at about 75 mph. The overall average is pretty much the same as other SUV or V6 sedans. The hwy mileage should be better though. I'd buy another despite the hwy mileage. I love it. Keep in mind it is heavy, and wide with quite a bit of ground clearance. I hate the "smart key". It won't let you lock the car after it has been started if you need to leave the engine running, like in winter. Also, you have to be within about 20 feet to unlock the car. It's pathetic. I can lock my Ram from a few hundred feet if I need to. I have the same panel issue you do on the dash. I have seat memory buttons in my Venza, different model perhaps, ours is a Limited. Also I noticed we have a different front grille and headlights. We have projector lights with LED daytime running lights, which I love. Oh I almost forgot, it's a complete tank in deep snow with winter tires. Unstoppable really, and crazy dependable. We have had it 7 years and nothing's gone wrong with it!
I drove Mercedes in the 80’s.Great cars now Mercedes are junk. Bought a 2001 Volvo XCountry which was a Ford in Volvo clothing. Bought a 2013 Toyota Venza XLE.It now has four hundred and twenty five thousand miles on it.Never broken down. It’s has road noise. Don’t give a dam. I live in Minnesota we have -50 below zero tons of snow. Car handles very very well. car sounds great doesn’t burn drop of oil.
I own a 2009 Venza 4 cyl magnetic gray metallic...I love love love my "mommy wagon!" Yes it is a wagon, not really an SUV. The 4 cly is much better on gas than the V6 AWD. The head, leg room and cargo space are the proof. I have so much room in it. We've gone car camping in it and had lots of room. It's so versatile with the ample backseat space. Also a well kept secret is that the back seats slightly recline! I've owned higher end cars (a Cadillac car and SUV) and I will not trade my Venza for anything else. I plan to drive it to 1 million miles!
Almost bought one of these twice but dealing with Toyota in Canada was a pain in the ass. I thought the design was good but why build a vehicle with a huge sunroof that makes you choose b/w a sunroof and roof racks? Make the sunroof glass smaller so you could have both. The vehicle actually looks better with the roof racks and more practical. The wheels on the 4 cyl actually look better than the 6 cyl wheels, just my opinion. That gas mileage is not that great. I wonder how the gas mileage is on the 2.7 Liter 4 cyl? Why would Toyota not have replaced that trim piece on the roof, you did buy it new?
I think it’s one of Toyota’s beautiful suvs , it’s a V6 so can’t expect that much from gas mileage, and it’s cross over so it’s heavier than the corvette
Big rims aren't good for mpg. Have you tried setting the cruise control at the speed limit (especially on trips)? I get 30 to 32 mpg on a trip with our 2009 RAV4 not my daughter just took it on a 5000 mile road trip last month and only got 25 mpg.
I have a 2012 Venza that has a 4 cylinder engine. It get average 22.7 mpg freeway/town driving with A/C on. There is an annoying problem with the engine that I have had fixed twice in 90,000 miles. Toyota uses a lock up cam gear (variable valve timing) on the timing chain for the VVTi. When you shut the car off and it sits over-night, the next morning when you start it there is a rattling in the engine at start up that sounds like lifters that have leaked down. The first replacement was a recall and Toyota paid to replace the cam gears. It was quiet for about 15,000 miles then started the rattling again. Before my extended warranty went out I took it back and they changed out the exhaust cam and intake cam with the "new fix." It lasted about 10,000 miles then rattles at start up after setting for a long time. I have learned to live with it and not worry about it. The second problem I hate about the car is the postage stamp sized back up camera. I don't ever use it because it is worthless. I know in 2012 the camera was designed to let you know if there was a child or dog that you were about to back over, but if the sun is at a certain angle on the dash or rear camera you are blinded from seeing. Also you don't know how close you are to another car or wall if you are backing up. Other than those two things, the car has been trouble free and when we take friends on trips in it they all comment about how solid it rides and how comfortable it is. I hate Toyota discontinued it also and wish they would make something close to the size and ease of driving.
I have the last model year, 2016 XLE Limited. It is a mixed bag. The bad: like yours, really bad interior fit and finish for gaps; crap mpg; small screen vs big screen for back up camera; 20” rims - makes ride harsher, high cost tire replacement; no auto follow cruise control. The good: power; seating space (especially back seat); hauling (fit a 10ft 2x4 with hatch closed); in and out height; stereo in XLE Limited; seat memory; driving visibility; comfort.
I just bought a 2009 AWD Venza w/ 88,000 miles on it. New they cost around $30,000. I paid $13,000 cash. That said, what I hate the most the fuel mpg, handling is way too loose in my opinion, & I miss having heated seats. Great car though. I’ve seen em as high as 310,000 miles on them.
Hi! I would add 2 more things that I hate about this car: in winter when it gets really cold it takes ages to warm interior of the car, also the blind spots are terrible, it gets to the point that sometimes it gets dangerous when you change the lanes.
I'm almost too tall for the car, but can see just fine. e.g. I've noticed current Subaru side-view mirrors don't even have the movement range to properly eliminate blind spots for someone my height (not super tall, but long torso) - but our 2012 Venza does just fine.
I have a 2013 venza 150000 miles on it , has memory seats , does not have the issue with the popout ornament on the roof , my in town fuel is about 18.5 mpg but highway is 23 at best , however I don’t go slow... I tried it once and the mileage was way better , in 6 years I had the car I only had to change the remote control battery once ... I think it really depends on the car you get
Hi, hope are is well with you and your family dealing with this Pandemic? I have a question for you. It has been a few years now, so you know that Toyota is bringing this back. In fact it’s out now. What car did you end up getting? It would be cool if you were able to get a hold of a new 2021 Venza, and drive it a bit and then do a review on it?? I too have always loved the early years of this car....hearing you talk about it, reminds me of how I have felt about it. It’s just a unique looking car and I too was shocked to know they stopped production in 2015? But, now that I have seen the new one, I’m kind of excited again? I have had my Honda Accord since 2014, and it too doesn’t look it’s age. I also swear by this car, since I have had no problems at all! But now with this new re-introduction, I’m beginning to reconsider getting another Honda or jumping over with the new Venza? Thank you so much for sharing your info. Be well and stay safe for you and your young family. Alex from LA
Hey Alex! So, I reviewed a new 2021 Venza a few weeks ago and I’ll post that video on the coming weeks. When we got rid of the Venza, we got a 2018 Audi Q5. I’ve done quite a few videos with that car. We absolutely love it. It all comes down to why you want, I’m sure you’d be happy with another Honda or a Venza. Stay tuned for my Venza video soon. Thanks for the kind words and I hope to talk to you again Alex! Cheers.
We have an 09. With 287hp. You can improve your mpg by cleaning the throttle body every 30 thousand miles you can do this yourself with $20 of spray cleaners our venza does 19mpg city 28 mpg on hwy
I hate : the gas tank capacity ....the driver seat should extend to the back a little bit more.... the side mirrors should be a little bigger .....mpg in my fwd v6 is around 11.5 due to my subwoofers 15” and batteries weight , but I’m thinking to get a Hiunday palisade in about 4 years more ahead
I like my 2014 AWD-V6. This car hauls my dj equipment just as I needed it. This video is old as Toyota has brought the Venza back. Can’t help but read ‘whiny’ about this. If it’s terrible, why keep it? And RIP McCain, “but”? Jeez.
I bought a 2010 4 cylinder. Great Gas Mileage. 17 inch wheels and the ride is smooth. Should have gone with a 4 cylinder. And yes! Toyota brought back the new 2021 Venza.
I just bought a 2010 V4 model. Also noticed the gap space on the dash and thought it may have been from changing my stereo to a video/back camera. My fuel economy is good amount the car is indeed a headturner. All in all, I love the Venza.
I've got a 4 cylinder 2014 Venza . Overall gas mileage is 22 .Wait till you replace those 20 inch tires.Overall I still like it.Lots of room and storage but pitiful gas mileage.
I use my 09 Venza for delivering mail on rural routes, gas is bad but overall the car handled great. I also have 245 65 R17 All Terrain tired makes the car look beastly but it's needed for what I do. 9/10 I'd buy another.
If your fuel mileage is poor there may be an issue with something in the engine. Could be the throttle needs to be reset, or a sensor issue? Why not take the car to a mechanic you know to check it over. If you are getting decent gas mileage on the highway but it drops in city driving that might be a throttle issue. The interior speaker grill is a bit off but you could probably live with it. The exterior trim piece I would ask Toyota to replace it, you did buy the vehicle new right.
I hate the syncing with my iphone in the venza. Its horrible and a pain. I have to resync it every time I get in the car. Even when bought a new iphone I still had issues. Also the fact that you cannot change the bluetooth pairing unless you are stopped is annoying. I know its a safety issue but so is having to push 20 buttons just to get it to sync phone and music with the iphone. 2nd on my hate list is the fact that the reverse camera takes a while to kick in when you put the car in reverse and that if you push any button before then it prevents the camera from coming on. I cannot wait to get a new car from a different manufacturer.
They do still make Venzas the body shape is entirely different. One thing I hate about the Venza is not much storage space. Idk why they didn't put a pocket of both sides of the console only the passenger side. Tho I do like the cup holder built in the door but really no room for storing books, or cell phones or room to put a purse, no hooks for using on trips if ur glamping in it. No charger plug works without having alternator on and u have to have it fully started to roll windows up or down.
So... No reason you shouldn't be getting 25mpg in it. My subaru has similar specs and I get 30mpg on straight highway and I get about 18 city. This averages me about 25-27mpg. So how are you driving is what I would consider
Our 2012 venza spill't its rear diff guts on the highway today , Being 200 miles from home we went to the local toyota dealer to have it fixed and rented a 2021 venza off the lot to get back home , Being a hybrid it made 38 mpg , Mine does about 24 mpg with the 4 cylinder on the highway.
If you leave the key FOB in the car, as many will do when garage parked, the car will continue to communicate with the key FOB and it will run down the battery. Also the roof trim just pushes into a channel I do not believe there is any adhesive used. It may have gotten loose and then debris got underneath it. Pull it up blow it out and push the trim back in. Although it does look as if the trim is slightly stretched from driving with it being loose. Also, newer models do have a memory seat but you are right the mileage is not good even with the 4 cylinder models.
+Piels Man Good points, I don’t think we ever left the key fob in the car in the garage, though. The strip had old adhesive on it and I tried to put more, but it never took. Oh well, sold the car 6 months ago but we loved it.
Just running across this video. The desired mpg numbers being quoted sound like the mpg for the 2.7 litre 4-cylinder FWD. AFAIK the V6 mpg was rated 18/25. That is also what Motor Trend indicated in their 2008 review of the 2009 Venza. So if you are getting 18 mixed and 23 hightway, that sounds pretty darn close to the mark for the V6. Also, you could get them with a memory seats. The buttons are on the door, not the seat. Unclear how the 3.5 liter V6 is a "mid-level" V6. At 270hp it was comparable to many other V6s of the day including Ford's 3.5 Litre Duratec. Which is also a great engine by the way. Not sure the turbo-4 you want will have the same overall longevity. 300k miles without major service is not at all uncommon on the Toyota 3.5s.
I have a 2012 with 50k i believe i will have this car a very long time. The thing i dont like is it has a backup camera that is not audible. I believe it rather have a getting close warning over the camera. And places want to charge 4-$500 to add that feature
I don't have a car with the push button start and only a key fob but I have been told by those with them that if you keep your key fob too close to the car when at home that it is constantly communicating with the car. For example the way to test that to lock up your car and then put your keys away and not have them on you and if you can pull open the door to get in as if the key was in your pocket or purse then it's too close.
my mom has a 2009 V6, hers has the same issue with the panel fit on the dashboard, and the exact same rubber piece on top is coming up just like that.... other than that she's at 250k KM with no serious issues
Ours is a 2013 XLE AWD 4 cyl. Couldn't be happier about it. Spacious, Looks great. Lexus Refinement. Toyota Quality. Gas Mileage has NEVER been a reason I did or did not buy a vehicle. Looks, Driving, Quality and Utility are the Main reasons. I would buy it again easily.
They stopped making it due to slow sales because it was ahead of it's time. It's not really an SUV, it's a crossover wagon. We bought a used 2013 Limited for the cargo space and we love it. Like the fact it sits lower to the ground than an SUV. I have to lift an EZ-Lite Cruiser electric wheelchair into the back and my back greatly appreciates how low the Venza sits. I agree about the gas mileage. When I first got it I was averaging around 18 mpg. Premium No-ethanol is available in my area. It's all I used in My Grand Vitara and lawn mowers. Once I started filling up with the Premium No-ethanol my mpg increased to 20.8 mpg. Most travel is around town, not often I do high-way runs. Apparently it has expensive taste and prefers champagne to beer, ha, ha. My dash isn't quite as sucky as some others i've seen. Funny thing, around 2018-19 the Venza started getting a lot of attention. Ppl asking, "What is that?". Now I'm seeing used ones all over my area. Where as before...none! Now Toyota brings it back restyled and I don't like it, lol.
Have you attempted to average the gas mileage yourself? I've noticed that the average economy rating on my Venza's OSD is off by almost one mile per gallon either direction whenever I average the fuel economy myself. I'm pretty sure that you know how to do this but for those who don't... The next time you go to fill up reset one of your trip meters on your mileage display. Fill the tank and drive until you fill up again. Divide the mileage on the trip meter by how many gallons you put into the tank and you'll get your average. I do a lot of city driving with my I4 Venza. I average 18 - 20mpg. Granted I just bought mine with a hundred thirty thousand miles on the engine so we could probably do with a few bits of tune-up maintenance. After a fuel filter replacement, air filter replacement, and new spark plugs and wires I'll probably be able to squeeze that 21mpg it's rated for.
Don't get me wrong, I agree. ...but I also know that Venzas curbweight is 2tons, give or take a couple hundred pounds. They actually weigh more than RAV4s and average similar fuel economy. A 4 cylinder lugging around 2 tons making 22mpg city is doing pretty well but that's under optimal running conditions.
There's got to be some interesting hacks out there for the Venza to increase economy. Even if it's only 1 mile per gallon. Have you ever tried NGK plugs and wires? My MR2 actually gained 2mpg just from that switch up from Bosch. It weighs a half ton less than a Venza with a weaker engine but still... better conductivity is better performance.
My mom bought a 2009 Toyota Venza. She had replace her car battery, but now her radio wont work. I have check the fuse and still aint working. Anyone knows hows to fix it?
I got the same model with you. Most of my mileage is on highway, but I still only get 18 mpg. some times I drove my wifes 2.5 subaru outback, the same route I can get 29mpg.
I have 2013 LE V6... Over 100,000 miles... Reliable and dependable, no problem yet... I love it especially on long distance driving (8 times now from FL to NY and back)....
Am I alone in noticing the sides of the front windshield kinda warps your view?... kinda like wearing glasses... Other than that, I have the same panel gap on my dash, and same fuel economy on my 2011 V6 without the AWD...
I usually add 2 to 3 ounces of Lucas Injector Cleaner when we fill our 2009 RAV4 with fuel. I also usually use ethanol-free gasoline. I average 28 to 30 mpg with everyday (mostly highway) driving and 30 to 32 on a trip but have gotten as high as 35.5. Our daughter recently took a 5000 mile road trip with it but only averaged 25 mpg. She did not buy ethanol-free fuel and she did not add any Lucas Injector Cleaner to her fill ups. Quite a difference.
Just found out my 2012 Venza at 103,000 miles has oil consumption problems. Oil getting into catalytic chamber. Due to piston priblems. Mechanic tells me to dump it, engine failure in the future. I'm so bummed. Has anyone else heard of this?
Thanks considering a used 2013 and pouring over comments for tips! Thank you all who write it helps so much!
I have AWD v6 2010 amazing vehicle
I agree with you
I agree that the look of the new Toyotas is hideous. They look like Dust Busters with their big grill. Mazdas win in a walk in the styling department.
That's true i love my venza
Just sayn the 1st gen venza was made in Kentucky. But yes toyota us from japan.
“Most people just buy anything regardless of looks”
Or maybe people have different opinions? Is that possible, or is your opinion correct and anyone who disagrees is wrong?
Dummy
Insights.
1. Get the 2wd not awd, the awd easily get destroyed if maintenance not done and can mess up the transmissions.
2. Get the 4cl not v6. I4 gets Better mpg. The v6 has more problems and is very expensive to fix as any major repair the v6 must be removed from the car.
Very true.
Just stumbled upon the Venza at a used car dealer. What a sleeper! Fun to drive, just the right amount of luxury feel, roomy. Your "hates" about the car say it all. There's just not that much not to like
Don Wallace True! Thanks for watching Don.
What about the 2010, I just purchased mine, hope is ok.😢 but I don’t see any backup camera in my own. 2010 Venza
Lol.. '10 had no camera but no bullshit either. 123,000 so far.. 4 batteries, 4 sets of tires, 1 set of brakes,, it's fast too so 20-23mpg is normal..
I'm just retiring my 2011 V6. I'm just shy of 540k km.
You're in goods hands, enjoy!
I loved the video fam..i have a 2013 Venza and had trouble starting it...i dont know if its a battery issue seeing that the lights came on the dash board ..but not the engine ....please help.
I super love the V6 Toyota Venza. I don't see any of those reasons you mentioned as a primary issue.
Ok, well I’m happy for you.
I’ve had my Venza for over 10 years now and still original key battery.
I have similar issue too
I had the same issue till I installed a aftermarket alarm/remote starter. I no longer use the buttons on my key and only use the key for the ignition.
Do you still have your Venza? With your 2013 have you had any issues with the rear differential?
I have a 2015 Venza for 2 years. Love it. I went to look at your complaints and those aren’t on my car. I do have memory for the seats. Gas mileage wouldn’t come up but I had the fuel changed last night so maybe that’s why. Love this car. I got newer? Michelin tire that takes it to another level and I didn’t notice tires before. I did replace the key battery about 3 months ago. My complaint is the roof rack? I can’t find an alternate for Toyota version/ it sets too close to the sun roofs.
Does it leak water inside since the trim on the roof looks questionable
Not one drop.
Mine does
Mine is a 2011 white pearlescent AWD 6 CL.
1:25 STARTS HERE
I own a 2014, since new, best car ever.
I have a 2010 v6 and it's amazing. Only problem I have had is a blown rear strut just like you! 120,000 miles on mine.
Zach B I bought my VENZA new in 2009. It has 51,000 miles on it. The body will probably rot before it dies. That car will outlive ME!! 😳😂
@@nw2310 I have an 09 with 206k and also having timing chain issues. Are you getting a dealership repair?
No I'm not...my car is still going strong today
Love my 2015 Venza. I just returned from a 4800 mile trip and averaged 28mpg.
Same but be aware the spoiler on the back will need to be tightened
How? We just did Massachusetts to Florida averaging 80mph and came up with 22mpg.
N W timing chain is not a big issue, considering this mileage.
How much was it to replace?
@Joseph Lara til this day I haven't and still driving it
The XLE has memory seats
only in the Platinum/limited model
This guy is a town drunk !!
Not until the later model years. We have a 2011 XLE V6 AWD. No memory seats.
Glad to hear that, I think yours is a little newer than mine with those headlights. If they still made it, I probably would have bought a new one.
Do you know how quick a puertorican would buy that car from you we love the venza with all the good and bad that comes with it beautiful car!!!!
I have a 2011 Venza
The Venza burns more gas than my Toyota sienna. The Venza takes off from 0 to 60 is quite surprisin. The AWD is a big issue
Yup. On the 1ar, I average 23mpg all day, and average 29-30mpg on the fwy going 65mph. My worst was 21.
Where are you getting factory ratings of 21 and 27? It’s 18 and 25 from the factory. Assuming you are driving mostly city 18 is spot on
I have the exact panel gap! what is that about? Its in exactly the same place in my Venza!!!
Yeah, we used cruise all the time and yes, big rims do not help milage.
8:48 do you leave the keys very close to the car where the RFID keeps on finding it? (If it is keyless entry configured)
My 2013 Venza has memory seats. The buttons are on the door. You just didn’t get the option.
I know.
Trying to find your video in the things yiu love about it can't find it, I am between buying a lexus rx 350 and a venza any advice?

Both good choices. Really a decision of personal preference.
@@GemmyDonCars ty
My man , they still make this car bro . Go and check very well
I did a review on a new Venza over a year ago.
I own a 4cyl 2011 Toyota venza AWD with only 34740 miles and I love it.you should it bought the 4cyl
I agree about the blind spots. Thats the only thing i dont like about my Venza.
Don't they have blind spot monitors in the mirrors?
Yeah I’m gonna say ya’ll just don’t know how to drive and look. I’ve had my 2010 venza 5 years and I can see just fine. I’m a shorty.
Cheers.
Those mpgs you stated are for the 4 cyl, not the v6 which is rated 18mpg on the city
We have an 09. With 287hp. You can improve your mpg by cleaning the throttle body every 30 thousand miles you can do this yourself with $20 of spray cleaners our venza does 19mpg city 28 mpg on hwy
Good call. Got rid of her almost 4 years ago.
I hate that recently the auto lights don’t turn off the lights when you shut off the car. It works intermittently. Some days it works but not often.
Have a 2010 Toyota Venza....JUST HIT 300,000 MILES 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
I like my 2014 AWD-V6. This car hauls my dj equipment just as I needed it. This video is old as Toyota has brought the Venza back. Can’t help but read ‘whiny’ about this. If it’s terrible, why keep it? And RIP McCain, “but”? Jeez.
Like all Toyota v6s it doesn’t do well in city driving but we get 24-25 on the highway. Also apparently it is coming back in the near future.
This is the first time I am reading that a Venza comes with a V4 configuration. 😂
The 1AR-FE is an I4, not v4.
Hope you held out for the Venza hybrid then. If not you must be kicking yourselves
I got an Audi instead. Gonna get an all-electric Audi later this year. My worries about gas are over haha
I was wondering if you still have your Venza? I still have my 2010 and she is as beautiful as the first time I saw her 😂
I do not but we did love that car so much. Zero problems in over 7 years.
Nice review and nice neighborhood. Where is this location?
Tissa prema Central Pennsylvania, close to Harrisburg. Thank you.
IS there anyways to bi-pass the proximity key set up?
I don't think there is.
As far as the fuel mileage, it's pushing over 4,000 pounds around and AWD. I get about 20mpg in our 2010.
We had memory seats on our 2013. We had the car until recently and never changed the battery in the key.
You need to reset the mpg ever so often or it's not accurate
I'm definitely going to find a nice 2015 model to buy. Thanks for the video 📹
You got it, Michael.
Pls is this car a good fuel efficient
Ours is a 2013 XLE AWD 4 cyl. Couldn't be happier about it. Spacious, Looks great. Lexus Refinement. Toyota Quality. Gas Mileage has NEVER been a reason I did or did not buy a vehicle. Looks, Driving, Quality and Utility are the Main reasons. I would buy it again easily.
It’s a suv cross over. The weight that car pulls will cost less miles per gallon .
I never got one complement on my venza i got new 10 years ago.
Can you buy spare key batteries and are they expensive?
Iris Gross Yeah, I’ve bought a lot of them and no, not expensive.
18-20 mpg for a 4 cylinder is AWFUL. I calculated it myself a few times, and the car was dead on.
I'm averaging 24mpg on my 2013 Venza v6 fwd? Maybe something is wrong with your car! 18 mpg is not acceptable at all.
My mom bought a 2009 Toyota Venza. She had replace her car battery, but now her radio wont work. I have check the fuse and still aint working. Anyone knows hows to fix it?
I don't know, but I bet UA-cam or Google would know.
I got the same model with you. Most of my mileage is on highway, but I still only get 18 mpg. some times I drove my wifes 2.5 subaru outback, the same route I can get 29mpg.
I have a 2012 V6 AWD Venza and I get 22mpg local driving. You must be pressing pretty aggressively on the pedal. I have 145K on it.
Have had a 2014 since new, and have not changed the battery
Looks like Venza is back in 2021! I still love my 2010 V6 pearl white. Also fell in love with wheels and stylings. 140k.
Yep, I reviewed a new one last summer, go check it out!
I have 2013 LE V6... Over 100,000 miles... Reliable and dependable, no problem yet... I love it especially on long distance driving (8 times now from FL to NY and back)....
Wow, that's awesome!
Am I alone in noticing the sides of the front windshield kinda warps your view?... kinda like wearing glasses... Other than that, I have the same panel gap on my dash, and same fuel economy on my 2011 V6 without the AWD...
The 2015 Venza XLE has two memory seat presets.
Our v6 2009 Toyota Venza at 215,000 miles still does 27 mph on the highway. But 15 mph in town still rides great Speed On
have you done a top and bottom 5 list on that es350?
What ES350 are you referring to???
I thought that white sedan in your garage was an es
@@timrippee9100 No, Mazda6 and yes I did love/hate videos on that one too.
Rated for 21? If I remember correctly it’s supposed to be 18 in the city and 25 on highway for the V6.
Google tells me it's 19-26.
The mpg in cars is not accurate, also what type of gas you use ? K&n filters?
Take it to the dealership and see what they say! I don't trust some of these small mechanic shops.
Any update?
Love my 09’ v6 Venza! Some of the things u hate I must agree with.. like not having memory seats!
You should of got the 4 cylinder. 23 Mpg
Vs
The V6 19 Mpg
Joshua Peter You night he right. I was so in love with the bigger wheels and slightly better performance of the V6.
*might be
I get 22.6 MPG with my V6
