This is the best curl refresh video I've watched. I like that she tells you the type of product to use for each concern rather than giving a specific brand and product. That was i can know how to use what i already have. And nobody else is talking about the steam method! Ill have to try that.
Thank you! I am in my 60s and my hair has changed with age. I now have looser curls being a 2c. I have really struggled and watched a couple of videos without success. Some just assume I have nothing better to do than walk around with soaking wet hair after using 3 tons of product. I simply don’t have that much time and hate soaking wet hair. I watched the “dry” gel refresh yesterday evening and immediately did it on my day 3 hair that is suffering in our current UK heat and this morning my hair is amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also interesting to see you use CurlSmith. I use UG but maybe I will give CS a go xx
Foam refreshes are by far my favorite! Quick mist of water all over my hair and quick scrunch in foam and let air dry. I do want to try refreshing with a serum perhaps either curl keeper, treluxe, or innersense all have lightweight serums.
I love your routines. I wish I found you a year ago! I have wavy hair with some loose coil sections, very different from your hair, but your routines and advise still works wonders for my hair. I like that you include options for fine hair, because wavy fine hair can be an absolute nightmare sometimes.
I learned SO much! THANK YOU 😄 I've been working on refining how I style on wash day since the beginning, but still doing the same old "mist all over until damp, add a bit more product, diffuse" refresh that I started with. I am SO excited to upgrade my refresh with your techniques-I think the gel refresh will be my first try, but I really love that you gave different "prescriptions" for each refresh type so we can make smart choices about what our waves & curls need on any given day. Thank you again! P.S. I just found your channel a couple days ago and have been binging your videos 😄
❤ so much appreciated this video!! ❤ I just started the cjourney and I refresh my hair everyday completely 😢 my hair started just to be so limp and dull because I saw a lot of refreshing completely the hair wet, this helped so much gorgeous hair ❤❤❤❤ you are a real example of natural curl so down to earth so sweet nothing fake as most of the influencers 🎉
I struggle with finger coiling. Every time I try, I end up with straight pieces. My hair is all, "Oh, you did NOT just try to make us behave!" My hair was once described by a stylist as "curls on crack." 🙄
Your hair is crazy pretty 😍 You look like Merida from Brave. I'm still quite new to the curly girl world so working out what does and doesn't work for my hair. Going to try split my hair and try 2 of the different techniques like you did to see what works best for me. I really appreciate this video. 🙏
I love watching your videos, your hair is my goal since I have more wave on the top and front with looser curls from midsection to end. Love your accent. I'm experimenting with the best way to refresh but get frustrated and end up putting it in a ponytail or loose bun...lol
Great video and lots of great tips. I love the gel refresh. My hair is very thick and prone to frizz so I use a strong hold gel over a little cream. I have lots of hair so the gel refresh would work best for me especially if I have a lot of frizz uggg. Your hair is beautiful btw and so are you!
I just started my curly journey. I used the cream tonight because my hair has been so dry and frizzy it didn’t even want to get wet in the shower. I steamed it and kept it moist for tonight. Now I’m concerned it won’t stay in overnight because I don’t yet have a special pillowcase or even a scrunchie. I did buy a little hair steamer cap though.
Wow really informative thanks I never know what to use as my hair gets dry AND needs hold. Is it OK to put a cream and then gel on top at the same time?
I usually refresh my curls by re-wetting my whole hair, but not like soaking. Only to barely damp. Then scrunch it a bit, maybe add some hairspray and/or oil, and let it air dry. Then after that (when I'm usually already at work/out and about) I break the cast during a bathroom break. Basically trying to mimic the steam method but without actual steam. So usually on refresh day I don't add more product or a lot of water, because I wanna be careful to not damage it unnecessarily with daily blowdrying, but I need some moist to make the curls bounce up again. Especially because my most tricky spot is right in the front that shows the most. That part always gets very stretched out and has serious trouble holding a curl, probably because it's kinda damaged from bleach. But that means I probably end up damaging it even further by refreshing it intensely almost every day. That's a bit of a viscious cycle I dunno for sure how to break, aside from keep working that hair bond repair treatment I'm doing hoping it'll fix that one particular, broken curl.
Love your videos! They're really helpful for me as I've just started my curly hair journey and it can get quite confusing. Can I refresh my curls using the dry refresh method by applying serum instead of a curl cream?
So glad to hear this! Yes definitely! The Curlsmith Aqua gel I used is very serum like and I used that to dry refresh a couple of curls in the curl curl curl refresh section at 20:10 🧡
Maybe you can make a video demonstrating how much of a product curly hair actually needs. And what type of product is best for the different curly hair types.
Such a hard one as everyone’s hair will need a different amount! I covered a bit about which products suit different hair in my protein moisture balance vid and I think my curly hair for beginners vid, but will add to my vid ideas list😘
@@hanzcurls ok or another idea as I struggle to know my exact hair curl type. Maybe you can make a video explaining all the different curl patterns and what products to use for different curl types? ❤️
I also wanted to know if you've tried " A curl can dream" by matrix ( all curly line of this brand) ? And also curl jelly by Umberto Giannini, if not I would love to see a review if possible... thanks!
I haven’t tried the Matrix line but love UG products! In my previous video I used the UG refresh Jelly to refresh with - I also did a reel on Instagram recently using the curl jelly, it’s an OG!
Matrix gel doesn't have a hold at all, if your looking for hold it's doesn't do anything really no curl extra definition nothing just a fancy name that's all I can say 😅
Thank you for the video!! 🤗👍 Great to see the various methods, especially because Refresh was always tough for me. I’m doing a bit of the damp Refresh with a Refresh creamy product and some spot/ends Refresh with either the refresh/cream or gel, depending on how much strength I need, and it really works! 😁 Thanks again for the great video!
It’s the Curlsmith Aqua Gel - it’s linked in the description below😍 I also used it for the curl by curl refresh at 20:11 - lovely lightweight gel - light hold I’d say but great for refreshing and for fine hair!
You say you are spraying your hair with water but the water in the bottle looks like it has something in it. If there is something in it what is it? Tia. Thanks to this informative video.

Thank you for this lovely video!! These are great tips and it feels doable. I've been frustrated with really involved morning routines.
Maybe you can do a video on showing different curly hair types. And what products is best for different curly hair types? ❤
Your curls are amazingly beautiful.

Sounds fab! A foam refresh is another great one! I find the Curlsmith Aqua gel quite serum-like too actually!

OMGGGGGG!! That hair! You look like a goddess. Beautiful.

Your hair is so healthy, shiny and frizz free!!! So jelly! UGH!!! :)
Definitely Curly hair expert 🙌🏽🔥 love to see your work
Thank you so much for this video. I still need to learn how to refresh. I’ve been curly for 6 months.
You are so welcome! I hope it helps you in your curly journey😍
You're gorgeous! 🥰 love the spot refresh part! My curls tend to flatten/frizz up at the exact same place.. if only curls could be consistent

Aww thank you! It does take a bit of trial and error to figure out unfortunately but I hope this helps you!
Thank you very much! Really good video!
Mega volume after that. Love it! Looks beautiful

What a thorough tutorial! Thank you!
Do you have a video on how to diffuse the top of your hair. For people with layered hair? I love your video and plan to try these.

Is refreshing and co washing same??
Hannah, do you follow the cgm, or just do your own thing?
Have you any ideas for someone that has thinning hair please?
TIA Tracey 😊
Love to use my face steamer for my silver fine curls. My curls pops up with adding nothing to it.
Sounds great 😍

Just water in the bottle x
Am I missing something...where can we get a steamer?
“Quite tricky to get your head around” 💀
