I’m so grateful for this video 😩🙌 I am getting married at the end of the year and it’s super important to me that I feel like myself. I’ve been trying to learn to brush style for more consistent results. I have never been able to section properly and always manage the bottom section perfectly and then cannot work out the top section. Last night when I attempted it, I got too overwhelmed and had to jump back in the shower and start all over again. This video helped so much. I’m going to try and follow step by step next wash 🙏 Key takeaways for me: - loosen le roots (!) - I need to stop being cheap and buy a spray bottle. I have been making giant messes by standing at the sink and attempting to rewet it with hands and a wet brush 😅😅 From looking at other videos, I do think the bounce brush would create too much tension and give me too much shrinkage. I find I can get too much volume/shrinkage and prefer bigger clumps and maintaining length. I don’t know if you’ll see this but with this in mind, should I be trying to style with a regular wet brush or the purple curl specific one? They look so similar but I have only used the original so I can’t compare 🤷🏼♀️ I would love your advice but totally understand if you aren’t able to get back to comments! 😅 ❤
Hi 👋 Hannah, I have just started my curly hair journey and love love your videos so far. I'm living in the UK and your videos are really helpful, specially for finding products in the UK from your recommendations. It is really early times for me but so far love the method of application in shower as is so much convenient. My favourite gels are Curlsmith Hydro Style flexi Jelly and Ouidad but the later is very difficult to find in the UK. Thank you very much for your videos and knowledge ❤
Hey girl! Is it better to diffuse or air dry extremely thick-and by thick I mean salons charge me 500 to dye my hair bc it takes 7 hours- very long hair? Also, you always seem s9 happy and cheerful. I am going through a depression, and was just wondering, what keeps you going on the tough days? What keeps you cheerful, when youre not? Any advice? Thank you
I'm sorry you're going through a depressing time, alot of people go through that in life. My advice listen to your favourite calm music, talk to trustworthy and helpful understanding close friends and family members. And sometimes if you have curly hair, watching curly hair videos can help you understand and learn tips and tricks to improve or try different things with your curly hair. Hope you feel better soon 😊
You have beautiful curly hair Hannah, fair play to you its alot of hard work to do your curly hair! But an easier way instead of sectioning bit by bit, flip your hair forward and add curlcream. Brush your wet hair to create curl clumps, and scrunch in the foam and shake to form curls. You can also use a t shirt to remove too much excess water. Then once the curls have formed, use extra strong hold gel and keep your head forward whilst diffusing your hair so you can see what your doing. I have mentioned it before, but you can leave the gel cast in if you do wash and style your hair in the evening. Because the gel cast will keep the curls in place properly, and scrunch it out in the morning! Its good to sleep on a silk pillowcase and silk bonnet also, please let me know if that helps you or anyone!?
I think whether that works depends on how much hair you have, and what it's like in general. I have pretty dense hair, and I could not get any kind of consistency in my results until I started sectioning, because no matter what I did I couldn't distribute product properly. I'd get frizzy bits, wonky bits, straight bits, etc. Then there's the problem that I have wavy hair and have never once been able to find a gel that didn't turn my hair wonky and stringy, even when I use gels recommended by other wavies and even when I use less than other people with half the amount of hair I have. 😅 I was excited for Curlsmith's new mousse, but it dries like a gel and I can't even use that. So strong hold products just aren't an option for me (which is frustrating), and if I try adding my hold product (usually mousse) after water has been scrunched out and curls have formed like you suggest, not only can I not distribute it fully through my hair leading to the aforementioned problems, I also get stringiness and really bad frizz because there's not enough water. I absolutely appreciate that your advice will work for some, but it wouldn't be "easier" for *me* to do it your way if I wanted any kind of decent result, and I expect Hannah feels similarly or she wouldn't go to so much trouble.
And how many times a week do you do this? I have waist length coils ,but I couldnt imagine having to go through all that on my wash days. I stopped brushing or using a brush 2 yrs or so ago and found my curls began to tighten immediately. I use a shower comb and occasionaly a pick to lift my roots, but never brush it. As soon as I stopped pulling on my hair, even ever so gently, my curls went from more wavy to coils and the breakage stopped. I also use a co wash with oils in it a few times a month and then shampoo with a good shampoo just my roots and close to my scalp. I then wash my hair as normal a day or 2 later. My ends and mids love the extra oils and are in much better condition than with all the products out there designed to "fix" our damage. I've had long hair for 50+ yrs and have tried all the trends and products.
@@myleerose31866 I’m so glad you’ve found a routine that works for you! I don’t always do this routine, sometimes I do a no brush styling routine like in my most recent video ☺️
This was very helpful. Sectioning is the hardest part of my wash day routine for sure. ☺️
So glad to hear this!
Just got my bounce curl brush in the mail yesterday and realized I have no idea what I’m doing. This video was perfect timing. Thank you so much.
Glad I could help!
