Do you all realise she is aged 14 here. I was singing Jazz from age 10 like Judy - she sounds like a teen! Wow great recording thanks to input from Roger Edens

How can anyone male or female be this f---ing great at such a young age? Streisand I'll bet was not this accomplished at 14.

I wish she had retained the lyrics that close THIS version of the song, when she performed it in her concert years, without replacing them with the 1942 version lyrics. Namely, in this version she sings:
"Your heart will ache like mine
    Your sun will never shine
You'll sit and pine for me only!"
Much more effective than the later, replacement lyrics which are:
    "I'm gonna haunt you so
    I'm gonna taunt you so
It's gonna drive you to ruin!"
Especially because she refers to how her love for him will drive HER to ruin, earlier in the song......the impact of which is minimized when she wishes the exact same thing on him.

Great observation! AND she sings the verse here. And I always wished she would have sang the second chorus as well..."After You've Gone, After we break up. After you've gone, you're gonna wake up. You will find you've been blind, to let somebody come and change your mind..." (I did that off the top of my head. I hope I got it right 😂)

Gehan, Judy turned 14 in June of 1936, so she could have been 13 when she sang this.

from the thumbnail of the video it made me think this video was rare footage of Judy singing this song.

The presenter says she is 13, and she definitely sounds younger than 14 - is it possible that this broadcast is from 1935, rather than 1936?

Wow I wasn't aware that you could sound different from 13 to 14, especially females males yes

She had just turned 14 a month and a half before. Maybe they just forgot she'd had a birthday.

I'd love to get the original lyrics to this version. It's a bit statically at parts, but i love it all, and have listened over and over since finding

    Effortless vocal control.
