- This week I'm sharing a piece from a series I filmed last year, when we had only been married a month! I hope you enjoy this Italian summer vignette, picking homegrown fruit and baking for an indulgent Sunday afternoon dessert.

Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.

Hi. I have made the apricot and olive oil cake. And cooked it for 40 mins. It is cooked. I have cut into it tho and it seems to be a little bit of the batter mix still there. Have I done something wrong here

My husband and I were invited 10 years ago for one summer to live in San Giminiano we were in a little town Santa Lucia, and we traveled all over Italy except in Cicilia. We love to visit that part of the country were Comisario Montalbano was filmed we love that program so much and of course we adore Italy wonderful country, great people and the best food.

Oh my God, I have a little cup with the exact same design as your bowl that had the sugar in it! I bought my cup in Siena, since I've been doing my year abroad there this year 😊 I've left a couple of weeks ago, but I feel like I can still keep up to date to what's going on in Tuscany through your videos. Oh Kylie!!! I just have to share- I've been watching your channel for years now. When I first found your videos I was bedridden with a horrible illness and they were such a beautiful form of escape. They showed me how beautiful life could be and reminded me of the power of hope and the endless possibilities that can lie before us if we dare to dream, even in times when everything seems so dark and we fear there is no way out. Today as I watched your video I had the most surreal moment. When I found you all those years ago I was bedridden in Ireland and now I too am starting a new romantic life in the South of France, in a beautiful old village house with the love of my life. Everything is so different now but I do not think I could even have imagined this life for myself if you were not here guiding me through it all. Thank you so so much for what you do, I really believe you are changing the world. You have certainly changed mine 🌿

I am from Ukraine and apricots are my favorite fruits. I literally grew up on apricot tree. One time I visited Ukraine with my then little children, we was walking on the streets filled with apricot trees full of fruits hanging right to the ground, we could not stop eating it.
Here in Canada you rarely see apricots. Thank you for this video that brought warm, nostalgic memories.
You have to go to market to find apricots in Canada ;) specially in Québec. It's possible to find them. But more recently, we can find crates of figs and sometimes apricots in supermarket like IGA. I will try this receipe with apricots canned and drained. I am pretty sure it's going to work. Of course, it's always better when its fresh! ;)

Have made this cake twice now...once as a peach cake...peaches (because that is what is in season and I love peaches) layered on top like you layer the apricots...it was delicious...once as peach muffins with the peaches mixed into the batter...also delicious, but I like the cake better because as the center cooked, the edges got nice and crispy and caramelized...but both work...another change I made to the muffins was to use 2:1 flour : hazelnut flour...now that apple season is approaching, may use the recipe to make an apple cake...love to find recipes that substitute olive oil (I used EVOO) in place of butter, to make it a healthier option...and have found that if I use 2:1 flour to nut flour, it really doesn't change the texture at all...if I use nut flour only, must add in a tiny bit of coconut flour to balance out absorption of the liquids...again, olive oil and nuts make recipes healthier for me...so thank you for the recipe

Oh that's a great idea! We bought a bushel of peaches I think last year or 2020 (its all blended these last couple of years 😮💨) and we froze them

Me too. Our tree is ripe and there is only so much peach jam and dried peaches, I froze two 500g portions for the winter. tomorrow I'll make the cake with fresh peaches.

They used to have so much fruit from their trees that they would spread them out on blankets on the floor of their cold basement where everyone could come down to and take some home. My niece called a couple of days ago, to let me know that my nephew (14 Yrs old), made homemade waffles with the waffle machine I had just bought her for her birthday. I told her I am so excited that he does feel comfortable in the kitchen and can cook good food. I told her I never want him to marry somebody “just because” they cook good food! I lived in California as a child and was fortunate to be able to pick apricots off the bushes. They were delicious!!!! But where I live now they come from supermarkets and taste like dry styrofoam! If you know what styrofoam taste like! Lol not really… but just not worth buying. Miss my apricots!!!

This looks delicious , thank you Kylie. My son is a coeliac and I am gluten intolerant. I shall have a go at substituting ordinary flour for GF flour and see how it turn out. I have noticed that during your pregnancy you have been eating GF so I am hoping the recipe works out ok. I hope you are well and not suffering too much in the heat, my son was born in early September and it was a warm summer in England and that was almost unbearable . Thank you. Just be advised that the fruit (especially apricots) makes for a very moist cake. I would do a mix of gluten-free flour and almond meal and perhaps lower the quantity of fruit so it still crisps up nicely. Sorry, I made this last year when I was still eating gluten and sugar!

Finally, I got my Canadian visa and i am going to Canada on 27th of August first time on flight. I am excited and nervous at the same time new country new culture away from family. That is like the cobbler we make in Texas. Olive oil can have a stong flavor with a slight bitterness. Can you taste it in the final product? I wonder if a neutral oil like avocado oil might highlight the apricots or using butter/ghee to enhance. Either way it looks lovely!
