Good review - the Aiso website has this as their only paddle, and is only in pre-sale mode at this time (12/1). Aiso founders are big on value, which is a huge plus in my book. They said this paddle is edge foam injected - but I don't recall you mention that in the review. I will also check out the Rev - thank you
No problem, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've enjoyed the folks at Aiso, and their paddle is great.
What grip is that you have on the paddle? How do you like it?
I play with the Vatic Prism Flash 16mm. This paddle appears very similar, although the swingweight is heavier. If you've played with the Vatic Prism Flash, how would you compare it to this paddle. Thanks and nice review. I'm glad you include twistweight and swingweight in your videos.
I would venture to guess that since this is a thermoformed paddle and the Prism is not but both having a carbon fiber top-sheet it would have more pop. I haven't played this paddle but I do own both of the Vatic Flash paddles the Prism and the Vatic Pro Flash both being 14mm, both are very good paddles but the thermoformed version definitely has more pop and livelier. Adding lead tape around the throat area improves the performance of most of these hybrid shaped paddles.
I think that's a pretty astute assessment. I think the Vatic Prism Flash is probably the closest paddle to this one in terms of both shape and playability, and the differences being that that Aiso is a touch more powerful, has a little more dwell time, and as a result i think it has a little more spin, but they both have pretty good spin so that may be splitting hairs. Honestly both great paddles, but I think the Aiso Centric overall is a little bit better, with the Prism Flash having the benefit of being a part of an established company and a pretty tried and true brand at this point.
Nice review. This paddle would be right up my alley! Does it play softer than the Perseus? Obvi the Joola is way more money, but just as a reference point. The softest paddle I've used is that original Ronbus. Thanks!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I definitely think it is more soft than the perseus. It's pretty comparable to the Ronbus R1.16 or the Vatic Prism Flash, but the Aiso has a little bit of a softer feel to it and a little more dwell time, and hits just a touch harder than those two, but not much!
Thanks for the info. Sounds like a tremendous value!
No problem at all!!
would this have more or less spin than the Ronbus 1.16 gen 1 paddle?
It's pretty comparable, really... I think both have good spin. I think the difference would mostly be in feel, and I found the Aiso Centric to be a little more plush feeling and it has more of a trampoline feeling effect off the face.
That music is annoying. Ditch it!
Thanks for the feedback... no music in my most recent video!
Great review got my sub.... music needs to be in the background or removed.@@PickleballMedicine
