I have been playing with the neonic force for a couple weeks and my experience has been similar to yours. This packs tremendous value if you want a paddle like this. Mine weighs 8.1oz and has a lot of pop, not a ton of power and is fairly easy to control. At about $90 I expect there will be more of these showing up on courts everywhere once they can get enough supply to meet demand!
Played for the first time today with this paddle. Didnt expect much but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Top tier control and terrific feel for a thermo out of the box. This paddle is now in my rotation.
I took a wild stab at down the line shot and ordered this one. lol It's suppose to come in later this month. I'm glad to see your review. I was wanting one that was a little quicker hand speed but still with the solid feel of the thermo-formed ones. Now it's like waiting for Christmas. lol
I received mine a few days ago. Havent been able to play with it yet but just hitting balls in the house it seems to have a more plush feel than some other thermos
STS Pickleball measured spin of the Neonic Force at 2,023 rpm. Could they be having some quality issues resulting in large performance variances from paddle to paddle?
Maybe, I also don’t know what ball he uses, method, climate, and maybe he just hits with more spin than me. I just know how my numbers compare to my other results.
I agree with you on the review of this paddle. I really like your honesty in your reviews, and I agree with most of your reviews on all the different paddles, the Ronbus series, and the new Gearbox pro power paddles. I am currently using Legacy Pro. I had rotator cuff surgery April. I really like the Legacy pro for the power, and the softness of the 16mm where I can reset the ball. I am looking for something similar to the Legacy Pro, but maybe in the 7.9-8.0 ounce range as the Legacy pro is just a touch heavy for my shoulder. My comes in around 8.2-8.3. I am 51 and I need extra help on the power especially post rotator cuff surgery. Are there any paddles you recommend for me? I feel the SixZero, and Ronbus Nova series too underpowered for me. I am one of few people who does not like the Gearbox Pro Power paddles. CRBN1X seemed to be too "poppy" for me, and I have a tough time controlling that paddle. Have you tried the HUDEF VIVA PRO gen 2 paddle? cost is not an issue for me. I just want the right paddle for me.
Thanks for watching my stuff, I’m glad it’s helpful. based on what you said I’d recommend the Mach 1 Forza from Volair but those are out of stock for another month :/. I haven’t hit the hider paddle yet though I read through the reviews and it seems like it may fit the bill for you too.
Hello, thanks for the review! I'm a complete beginner and was eyeing this vs the Vatic Prism Flash, which one would be better for a beginner? Is the sweet spot on the prism flash larger?
Both are good paddles, you've done your research! The Vatic Pro Prism Flash is better for beginners because it has a bigger sweet spot and is easier to control. You'll benefit from more control than you will a little extra power at this point.
Wonderfully informative review. I've played with rental paddles for about a month now and stumbled upon this review. Having done some research, I'm comparing between Neonic's Force vs Flow. Have you tested the Flow? I'm looking for something which is balanced and has a sufficient amount of control
I’m glad it was helpful! Yes, I’ve played with the Flow, it’s more control oriented while the Force has that balance of power and control you’re looking for.
Very kind of you ha, I like to keep them around to compare to others as I review them or to answer people’s questions about them when they come up. If you have a website or UA-cam channel then you could probably get them to send you one. Lots of room for reviewers out there.
@@pickleballeffect thank you. I have a channel but need to start an FB page too. I teach lessons but having hard time finding people willing to pay. I have ideas for a demo video too...
Both would work but I’d say the Prism if you play indoors mostly or live in a cooler climate and go with the Neonic if you primarily play outside or live in a warmer climate.
I have been using this paddle for about a month now, and honestly its truly surprised me on how amazingly well rounded it is. I do sometimes feel like its lacking power on drives and returns. How would you compare this to to 6.0 DBD? I've been kind of torn on whether I should move on to the DBD or add lead tape to the neonic and try it for a bit longer.
Im debating on getting Hudef viva pro gen2 or Neonic force since they are both basically 100. Which would you recommend? Does the Neonic force have any durability concerns such as delamination/core crushing? and also, how is the customer service?
Yeah, this one is interesting. The Neonic is an all-court paddle while the Prism paddles are control paddles so there is a difference in playability but it's nice to have more good options at this price point.
Hi there, I currently have a Vatic Prism Flash in the 16 mm. I'm wanting a little bit more pop and power, do you think I should go with the V7 or towards the Neonic Force?
The Neonic will give you that little bit more pop and power and has a similar weight/balance as the Prism Flash while the V7 is noticeably heavier. So if you like the weight and balance of the Prism Flash then I’d point you towards the Neonic or the regular Vatic Pro Flash.
not sure why this is, but you and Chris Olsen and possibly others are still citing (both here 2:41 and in the Nova R1 review you and Chris did) the Nova R1 as an elongated paddle when it clearly in marked as a Hybrid paddle on Ronbus' webpage and hard to understand how it keeps getting called elongated when i look directly at it. Just thought it was worth a heads up as commentary that appears multiple times in the wrong fashion just gives me red flags. Hope this helps for future analysis and considerations.
I define a hybrid different than Ronbus and I think Ronbus should update their listing of the R1 as elongated. An elongated shaped paddle is anything 16.5" long or longer. A hybrid shaped paddle is around 16.25" long. And a standard shaped paddle is 16" in length. For some reason Ronbus calls their R1 a hybrid because it has a rounded top which doesn't make any sense to me. The R1 is 16.5" long which makes it an elongated paddle.
@@pickleballeffect is your method one of uniform standardization across the paddle spectrum as a whole? If not, you have to define your unique terms as such and not blanket call it elongated. 16.5 is right at the spectrum (only .25in over) and having a rounded top IS why Ronbus calls it hybrid as you said, but it's not like an inch longer and personally if you and Chris go around start redefining terms, everyone will be confused, because the shape is indeed HYBRID DESIGN. I can't find any data that hybrid can't be 16.5 long as long as it maintains proper top shape and correlating units. Also in keeping with the Nova revolutionary technology it is likely Dong and others at Ronbus wanted to slightly modify hybrid to allow the edge cooling technology more surface area to be effective. Many engineering reasons could be likely. I realize this is your personal channel and Chris has his own personal opinions, but people are depending on input online, so lack of standardization will create more confusion. Just saying my piece..
@@pickleballeffect Isn't the R1 the same shape and size as the Flash and the Double Black Diamond and the Forza? I could have sworn the R1 was 16.25 inches long.
@@JosephTMyersI don’t care if ronbus uses the term hybrid to explain the technology but when it comes to describing the length or size of a paddle then I think hybrid means something else. if a rounded top is considered a hybrid then you can have a paddle that is 16” long and a paddle that is 16.5” long with a rounded top that would both fall into the hybrid category? If that’s the case then the term hybrid doesn’t give you much information about the paddle. Unless you call one a hybrid standard shaped paddle and the other a hybrid elongated paddle. But if you do that then what do you call a paddle that’s 16.25” long and has a rounded top? A hybrid, hybrid shaped paddle? The length of a paddle, even if only a small difference changes the way it plays so having the three categories makes sense to me. I wrote down my definitions for these on the paddle stats page of my website so that people can interpret my data there the way I see it. But if I’m going about this the wrong way I’d like to hear others opinions.
@@douglasmurdoch7247no, the flash and dbd are slightly shorter and wider at the top compared to the R1. Thus the R1 being an elongated shaped paddle and the dbd and flash being hybrid shaped paddles.
