    Great I love the 1B example I will use 1B to pop my silver then dilute it to add some blue highlights or all over or to tone out some remaing old color . My hair is virgin now, but I miss the drama.

    Hi. Thanks. Can you explain why you would use crystal clear say on a 6N to make it a 9N - why wouldn’t you just use a 9N ? Is it to save product ? Secondly, If you put a 9N (or a 6N made with CC to be a 9N), on say a 6, 7 or 8 if you don’t want to intensify the original pigment but want to correct tone , will the corrective element (blue / violet) still work to tone a lower level without depositing as much pigment, or would you need the same level to correct tone ? Thanks 😁

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  4 роки тому +3

      Hiya
      Adding Clear to 6N will “spread out” the tone - it will appear lighter but have more tonal deposit than 9N. Your second question is GREAT - if you want to “correct” or neutralise with SEQG I would suggest toning ON the level. For example - if you’re working on a level 8, use a level 8...unless of course you want a deeper finished result.

    hi Craig. As a beginner, i have gotten in to toning my hair during lockdown. If i want to tone my blonde hilights now and then (because i cant get to a salon before my holiday - i contacted you last night about booking in) and want to tone my hair with lets say 9NB what golden colour do you recommend adding a drop of? Is there a go to, cant go wrong col? I love my hair when i get that tiny glimmer of pink. Not actually pink to the eye, but you can see that the undertone is there if you know what i mean. I read somewhere about adding a drop of red with plenty of crystal clear with something like 9N or 9NB to give it that champagneness. These toners are dangerous! They are so addictive!!

      I’m sure lockdown has inspired SO many folk. Afraid I can’t give out formula advice to non-hairdressers, I wouldn’t want to be held accountable for any unwanted results - legally, I’m not covered to give advice on professional products.

    I used to use just the Shades clear to highlight. It would bring me up to a beautiful blond. They had since changed the formulas. My hair just doesn't handle bleach. Would like to go back to Shades. Have had my hair highlighted back in March , I've probably lost half my hair by now. And its been mostly the highlighted hair. I did have Covid before Christmas, but I don't know that it isn't the effects of the bleach

      @@theworldofcraig before they changed the formula it was perfect to lighten my hair. It was an absolutely beautiful color. It looks terrible right now. I'm taking prenatal vitamins and doing protein packs. But I'm thinking of trying the clear alone to see what I get. Start out with a test swatch

      @@theworldofcraig This got me thinking...could I buy all my shades a bit darker lets say level 6 of every color tone I want (VB, N, GI, VRO, AA) and mix them with the clear to get all of the single tones in between up to 10? Or is this stupid and I also should get my lighter tones for the level 9s etc :D

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  3 роки тому +1

      In principle you could do that - although as it’s tricky to pinpoint exactly how much Clear “dilutes” the “tone” of a particular shade, I would stick to using it when you’re out of something or want a super sheer blonde etc etc. Great question!
