Love those Klarna pants: the top also. I would make them in a silk or rayon and wear them out in summer. I began to sew again after my sister's death. Just going into that creative space helped. You do turn a corner and suddenly, the event isn't in your face, along with the grief. You're strong and have a good attitude: you'll be fine.
Hi Whitney, Amazing video, thank you! ❤ It's always fun to hear what you've been up to. The cosplay costume is very fun, and they did a great job with in concept and construction of all the parts. My younger son took his older daughter to an anime-con this summer; he wore the suit that I made him for his first one many years ago, and Gdaughter picked a character from the same show. What a great colab you guys had! The new machine sounds so exciting!! Finishing up a flannel check Olya that I cut out with the latest Dawn jeans. Which I've been wearing already! Cutting out S8790 (SewHouseSeven) and a Tabor V-neck. See you on the next one!
Love the skyline dresses too, Who says you have to sew for the season you're in? Sometimes I think I'm stuck in my sewing because I want to sew linen pants and a camisole, and it's 25 degrees outside. The sewing monkey in my head is going "no,no,no! That's summer stuff!" So I smacked it silly and kept going, I also eased back into my sewing by making some totes as gifts, There is something soothing about those precise lines. Looking forward to your videos,
I’m, sorry about your brother, my brother pass away 3 weeks ago. I to go and I got to see my mom who got old timers. I’m glad she remembers us. Carmen in Florida
Thanks for the reminder to take even the simple stuff one step at a time and to remind myself of what I'm getting done! I'm going through a big transition at work and it's really stressful and there's grief wrapped up in it too. I'm slowly working on some simple sews, knit tops, lounge bottoms (just got some organic cotton french terry) for me and pj pants for my husband, but I'm dreaming about woven pants and jackets. I hope to have more sewing time soon! Thank you for sharing!
Oh, feeling the grief all the way over here in Australia. Saw an Aussie panel show where someone was sprouting some of the horrific tropes I've seen from " them" I was horrified. Now it starts here! So sorry to hear about the loss of your brother ❤
It let’s so many people feel emboldened to be hateful. It’s terrifying and we just keep preaching love and showing up for those that will be hurt the most
Looking forward to seeing how you layer up the flowy dresses! I have the Silversaga Francesca pattern which is similar to the skyline and still haven't made it😅
My condolences to you and your family. Glad you're getting your sew jo back. I'd love to see a video about the coe trousers eventually! They've gotten so much attention on Instagram but not here on UA-cam and I'm so curious. Fantastic makes!
@@whitmakesThe pants seem more your style but I agree the elastic would make it more wearable. The top is giving sweater vibes and I wondered if you (at it might not be worth the trouble) cut it into a v-neck, if you could layer a turtleneck under it so it'd be super cozy for winter and the bright color would be slightly further from your face? Just an idea.
Happy for you to bring a new sewing machine into the family! Do they have a name yet? (The sewing machine of course.) Always nice to see your vlogs! ❤❤❤
I have not heard of #Handmade November. I have to check that hashtag out. I know I shouldn't have been laughing but I was laughing when you were talking about the pairs of pants that you didn't know if it was you if it was the pants it was the fabric It was the pattern? Hahaha... that's what I have going on in my sewing room!😅😅😅
So nice to have you back. I can fully understand that you are horrified by this awful outcome of the election. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope that sewing and crafting will bring you joy and keep yousane.
Yay! You're back! I'm glad you have been able to work through some of the rough stuff through sewing. Yes. One step at a time. I get it. Sew on.
Yay! Glad to be back ❤️
Grief isn't even a bad enough word for it. I only hope we'll all survive
Well if it makes you feel any better, I’ll keep fighting. So many people I love have too much to lose.

Lovely words- thank you!

Love hearing this!! And a flannel olya sounds pretty perfect
Good to see you! Looking forward to all your videos.
It’s so wonderful to see you. 🥰. You’re inspiring me. I’m sewing a little bit. I love seeing your projects! And I adore the yellow pants.
Ah thank you!
I always love when you upload. Your makes are just perfect! I have also been struggling to upload.
Thank you!! Yes, getting back to it can feel so hard. Thanks for making this first one feel ok!

Yellow is a wonderful color for the winter when it’s gloomy outside 😊
Agreed! Love cheerful colors when it gets gloomy

Lovely. Times of transitions can be equally filled with joy and hope as well as grief. Navigating that space is tricky. Sewing helps :)
@whitmakes Sewing always helps 😀🧵🪡

Thanks! Yes, let’s revisit them when I have a bit more mental space because I feel the same way
I really love the lounge set on you!
Ah thank you! I’m realizing the sleeves are supposed to have an elastic cuff- I might add that and I think it would make it more wearable

Wishing you comfort and peace. I also am looking to channel my sadness and
Fear into something positive, one day at a time.

Always nice to see your vlogs! ❤❤❤
No but I feel it will reveal itself to me 🤣
I feel the grieve even here in the Netherlands. It’s devastating. What’s to come?
I have not heard of #Handmade November. I have to check that hashtag out.

Yes… sometimes it’s easier to blame the pattern 😜
I’ve missed you!
Ah thank you! I’ve missed this space and appreciate it ❤️

Im back im back!
