this is the best video ever, it’s so cool seeing all of your projects and makes me want to redo my whole wardrobe. you are so cool, talented and inspiring, love the quality of your videos and how you structure them, you must spend so much time on each one! have a great day ❤
oh my, the whole wardrobe collection of yours is a dream 🥹 aside from loving every single piece, i gotta give props to the fabric choices. they're so so cute and the colors really go well with each other i'm obsessed!
New here! I’m impressed! I’ve sewn for 63 years and one thing I know for sure is that things (styles and bad Pennie’s) will come around at least once in your lifetime. I enjoyed seeing what you’ve made!
Thank you to the algorithm for bringing me here. I’m so glad I have now seen your channel and patterns. Don’t get rid of the original skyline dress, keeping an archive of your work is so important, it’s a treasure.
That type of sleeve on your wrap dress is called a "grown-on" sleeve. Ive been sewing for over 60 years and it makes me so happy to see someone young get excited about sewing. Enjoy the journey, remember to challenge yourself and keep learning. I hope you have a lifetime of beautiful makes ahead of you 💕
I was really hoping you’d make an “Everything I’ve Made” type video and omg wish granted! I feel so inspired. I made the Lane Pants a month ago as my first ever sewing pattern project. I love them and bought fabric to make two more pairs!!!
So inspiring, I love content like this! Gives me lots of ideas for projects. A heavy-ish weight Lane Pant is definitely on my to-sew list now! And I would love to see you tackle some sewing projects that are outside your comfort zone or from different pattern designers - it would be interesting to see how such an experienced sewist like you interprets other techniques/instructions. Skyline dress is also on my list now, yours are so cute!
I wanted to say thank you for the wealth of knowledge you have and continue to share about sewing and patterns! I came across your account on Tiktok and have since been inspired to soon make my own wardrobe pieces as I have a hard time finding clothes in stores that are my style. I can't wait to make some of your patterns :)
Just started getting into sewing a few months ago & came across your page today. When i tell you that your wardrobe is my dream "made by me wardrobe" I am screaming it! I LOVE all the patterns and colors and choose & your style is ME. I love it! I can't wait to try some of these patterns & see if I can expand my fabric finding to new stores! Thank you for sharing!
I absolutely LOVE your style and am so inspired to expand my me-made wardrobe this year. Every thing is sooo wonderful but that blue gingham set is especially perfect 😍
Love it! And I really like the quilt you have on the wall, been noticing it every video! I enjoyed seeing all the different pieces you made for yourself, and now that I've seen many versions of the Syd Tie patten, I think I need to make one for myself 😍
I recently found your channel and I'm so inspired to start sewing! I just got a sewing machine for Christmas and I cant wait to follow your tutorials and make my first projects!! I'm also originally from the Portland area so that's a fun coincidence!
You’ve seriously inspired me to make so many things! Thank you for taking the time to show your work and give so many links. I can’t wait to start sewing my own garments. Unrelated: I went to UO for two degrees so I just love that you’re in the best city ever! Go Ducks 😂
these are amaziing, the patterns and the design choices 🤌 really makes me want to try the patterns as you continue to rotate the same ones with alterations
loved this video and getting to see all the variations and how everything fits. I actually just printed the pattern pieces for the Lane pants yesterday and watching this video made me add the rest of the patterns to my Etsy cart immediately lol. You seriously inspire me so so much!!
So inspiring! I just started sewing again after maybe a 15 yr break from it 😅. Your channel has given me so much motivate inspiration to get back to it!
Loved this video. All your pieces are amazing. Learning to crochet is a goal of mine this year so can't wait to see your video on that! I think it would be amazing if you had your first pieces (e.g. your two dresses that went viral) displayed in your studio, they are such an important part of your journey.
I would definitly be interested in a closet sale😻 your stuff looks so beautifull and eventhough I might make your patterns myself, I love the fabrics you use
I love that brown skirt!!! But I understand why you aren't reaching out. The fabric is so gorgeous whether you keep it or turn it into something you'll wear more :) Love your transparency, too - super helpful for a beginner to hear projects aren't always ideal!
Hi! You can easily change the length of your crochet cardigan, you can just unravel the sleeves to a length you like better. I have found that with both knitting and crochet wool yarns of all kinds stretch out when wearing it. Thank you for sharing! Loving seeing the evolution of your designs!
This year I'm dedicated to making at least 15 garments (for either me or my toddlers) and I'm so inspired by you!!! I think the first thing on the docket is going to be the ruby vest 🫶🏻
Bonjour, je te découvre depuis la Belgique et j'adore ce que tu fais ! Je recherchais justement des patrons simples et efficaces que l'ont peut moduler et qui sont confortables!! Merciiiii❤❤❤❤
I love your skyline dress, but think the bodice might be a bit too loose on me I noticed you original purple one is more fitted what would you recomend to do different there to get that fit 😊
Interesting to show how small changes, even in the types of fabrics used, make a garment look different. The dress featured early in your video is pieced, rather than quilted. Cool to see that the wrap skirt pattern is called Jill, because my very first garment I ever made, 60 years ago, was a reversible wrap skirt, and my name is Jill. If a jumpsuit does not have enough torso length, sometimes you can just scoop the center crotch seam to deepen the torso, as long as the rest of the jumpsuit fits correctly. Instead of using bias tape to line a bodice, you can line it with sheer cotton fabric, completely piecing the outer fabric and lining fabric right sides together, then trimming the seams and flipping them. You could create a pattern of patch pockets of different types that could be used on garments, and even purses. I used to like a patch pocket that had a tie in the middle (a wide U-shape where the long point became the ties). You can add a peplum that isn't gathered by making the top of the peplum a curved shape like a crescent. The top fits the bottom of the bodice where it is attached, the bottom of the crescent is what gives the peplum fullness. You can rescue the long skirt by moving the seam between the top panel and lower panel. It's long enough to sacrifice some of the length. I lived in tiered skirts in the '00s. If you make the pocket linings the color of your skin, the pockets won't show through white fabric.
My family and I just moved to the portland area so I will need to find the shops you mentioned! My husband is a traveling nurse, so we move around a lot but we've lived in Eugene as well and so enjoyed it!
For the skirt you were thinking of scrapping, maybe you could make the first tier shorter to make the second tier come up higher? It would be shorter of course and the pockets might need to be removed, but it might be worth a try if you think it would be worth experimenting.
Just discovered your UA-cam channel and love your videos, patterns and fabrics! 😍 I especially love your first patchwork dress if you end up selling it 😊
Loved this video! Don't sell the first patchwork dress! Display it in the studio by hanging it on a wall or something 🤩 I think you can turn the maxi brown into a mini with a ruffle! You'd just have to cut and hel it. That'd be really cute 😊
Honestly, I do the same basic thing with crochet, like tank top, t-shirt, sweater, cardigan, etc and just tweak them to be what I want. I’ll change the yarn and stitch but I make the same things over and over again because it’s what I like lol but you’ve inspired me to start sewing, I just bought a brother from Michael’s and am going to practice taking apart and putting back together some old clothes. (Wish me luck 😅 I’m so nervous)
You got me to start sewing for the first time! I’m recommending your series to anyone that will listen, I’m so thankful for you. For the chartreuse green linen skyline you wear in videos, do you have a fabric link for that one?
Love this video. One thing that I appreciate is no music in the background! I feel like I'm able to focus on everything you are saying and it's less overstimulating than what I'm used to
Hi Syd! I am thinking of making a thrifted quilt into some full length lane pants, did you find the shorts to be super bulky? The quilt I have isn't super thick or anything
Do you think the Lane pants are too ambitious for a first garment project?? I got my sewing machine in November and I've made lots of quilted bags and pouches (makeup bags, totes, duffle, kindle/laptop) but never any clothing. If it is too big of a start, what pattern do you recommend first? :)
Hi! I just made the lane pants as my first ever project! I couldn’t recommend it enough! The pattern instructions + the video tutorial made the process quite smooth and I’m really happy with how they turned out!
I’m sure you’ve heard this before cause you kind of mentioned it, burn those shoes. You are incredibly beautiful and in addition you are sincerely so so talented. Your clothes are darling, hip, beautifully made. Why ruin every single showing of your talent with those shoes. To the furnace with them 😊
The duped shirt just made me think of the labor that had to rip off that shirt, probably making wages they likely can barely live off of and with garbage fabric floating in the air. The microplastics from the polyester...ugh. It's crazy how they duped it like that and maybe expect people to think it's the "real deal"
this is the best video ever, it’s so cool seeing all of your projects and makes me want to redo my whole wardrobe. you are so cool, talented and inspiring, love the quality of your videos and how you structure them, you must spend so much time on each one! have a great day ❤
Thank you, this means so much! I frequently stress that I'm putting TOO much time into my videos, so this makes it all worth it 😅🫶
The quilted jacket and short set is lowkey high fashion. With like boots and a slick bun?? Slayed.
oh my, the whole wardrobe collection of yours is a dream 🥹 aside from loving every single piece, i gotta give props to the fabric choices. they're so so cute and the colors really go well with each other i'm obsessed!
New here! I’m impressed! I’ve sewn for 63 years and one thing I know for sure is that things (styles and bad Pennie’s) will come around at least once in your lifetime. I enjoyed seeing what you’ve made!
i think a white turtle neck and tights under the quilted shorts/jacket set would be so cute!
Thank you to the algorithm for bringing me here. I’m so glad I have now seen your channel and patterns.

this is so fun and so inspiring! And I’m obsessed with the quilted set?? My dream
Thank you for this video , the language you use to describe why and how is so helpful!
I really liked the brown skirt too and I think it looks cute on you! I really enjoyed this video and I’m inspired to make a dress and the lane pants!

Love everything, you have created a beautiful wardrobe ❤
I LOVE the thrifted quilt shorts and jacket as a set
So aspiring! I can’t wait to collect all your patterns. I’m going to start self drafting this year and I’m so excited after watching your channel

I always wear cotton or merino leggings under flowy pants in the winter to stay warm. Works perfectly for me ☺️
I would definitly be interested in a closet sale😻 your stuff looks so beautifull and eventhough I might make your patterns myself, I love the fabrics you use

Wonderful video and creations! Thank you for sharing all this inspiration!! 😊 I have a blue cotton gingham and will make a dress with it this year!

The quilted set is so cute!
This was so inspiring!! Learning to sew is on my 2025 goal list! Can't wait to make some of these patterns.
QUILTED outfit is very cute together!

Thank you for blessing us with this video! I can’t wait to make several of your patterns this year🫶🏻
I love this video so much 😭 it’s getting me so excited to start all my sewing projects for the year!
How do you care for your home sewn clothes? Any special laundry routine? Especially for the linen/viscose blend!
everything is so so good!! ahh ur so awesome and such a sewing inspiration! happy new years!
My family and I just moved to the portland area so I will need to find the shops you mentioned! My husband is a traveling nurse, so we move around a lot but we've lived in Eugene as well and so enjoyed it!
I don't sew a lot but this makes me want to get out my machine!! So inspired!!
New subscriber here! I'm almost done with Learning to sew episodes. Thank you for the knowledge and efforts!
I just made my first skirt thanks to your tutorial!! Love what you do :)
Ooohhh I have been waiting for this video from you. I am so happy you made it ❤
For the skirt you were thinking of scrapping, maybe you could make the first tier shorter to make the second tier come up higher? It would be shorter of course and the pockets might need to be removed, but it might be worth a try if you think it would be worth experimenting.

It look very cute together. And yes ware them together ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love your style! So many things I’d like to make😊
I absolutely love that brown skirt and off you do end up getting rid of it instead of reworking it I would love to buy it from you!!!!
Great video! Love your designs
This is so fun and was totally inspiring!
Love this video. One thing that I appreciate is no music in the background! I feel like I'm able to focus on everything you are saying and it's less overstimulating than what I'm used to
I love that you bought the Amazon "dupe" of your shirt. 😂 I would totally do the same.
Would love a link for the leggings with the fleece! Also I'm about to make my first garment for myself and it's going to be the Lane pants!
Now I need to use up all my fabric stash! I fell off sewing for awhile
What if you make your brown skirt a brown patchwork skirt? Add in another brown/winter fabric or 2
A 57min video, Sydney!! I never clicked that fast!
You should frame the first version of your quilted dress
I had this thought too!!
YESSS! New Syd vid!!! 🎉
I love everything! Omg
Hi Syd! I am thinking of making a thrifted quilt into some full length lane pants, did you find the shorts to be super bulky? The quilt I have isn't super thick or anything
Is that a “grown on” sleeve on the white dress?
it could be really nice to display or even frame your "heirloom" quilted dress!
41:00 That's wild. I know that Eagle rock Workshop has had issues like this. ( They made yoga pants with custom art.)

@@caligirl2556 thank you!
buying your own Amazon knockoff is iconic. a great reminder to be careful when we're purchasing online!
How would you describe your style? What are the styles you search for on Pinterest?
I’m sure you’ve heard this before cause you kind of mentioned it, burn those shoes. You are incredibly beautiful and in addition you are sincerely so so talented. Your clothes are darling, hip, beautifully made. Why ruin every single showing of your talent with those shoes. To the furnace with them 😊
I need more time to sew all of these🥲
I like the brown skirt!! I don't think it looks weirdy tight
The duped shirt just made me think of the labor that had to rip off that shirt, probably making wages they likely can barely live off of and with garbage fabric floating in the air. The microplastics from the polyester...ugh. It's crazy how they duped it like that and maybe expect people to think it's the "real deal"
How do you have so little of a fabric stash? Lol😮
Did you tell the seller that stole your idea anything? I hope they're no longer selling!!
