Well said. Yeah screw them! Lol. This thing is way more fun than $100k boat. Even if I was a millionaire I would still take the bass dumpster out cruising.
Man, you saved that from its grave. It gave someone a lot of pleasure back in the day, and now it has a new life and is giving pleasure again. It was going to end up busted up in a landfill, and I think it clearly deserved to live again.
Awesome vid ! Chrysler had a significant marine history … boats and motors way ahead of their time. Boats from Plano, Texas and motors from Hartford, Ct and Barrie Ontario. I had numerous Chrysler boats with 105, 120 and 135 outboards. Bullet proof.
people that are saying the stringers are bad clearly dont know glassstreams they are soild boats we call them water logs around here because the wont sink! lol great video man keep doing what your doing that's why you get the good views on stuff!!
Yeah that's for sure! Unbelievable how strong this boat is. I push her even harder in the part 3 video I'm working on. And thanks! Greatly appreciate your support
I have a old boat project that's been sitting around for over 2 years. You just inspired me to get my butt in gear and get it done. Thank you for that! Awesome video.
I had a boat 25 years ago, of similar quality. Of all my friends it still holds the record of being the only boat that got launched NOT running, and was towed to our party spot, with a 1/2 keg of beer…
Memories. Back when I was alive I had a '67 Glaspar with a '76 Chrysler 75hp. It was a 3 cyl but very similar to what you have there, and I did a lot of the same maintenance that you did. Super dependable and so many great memories. Good luck with your.
Good to see you rehabbed the boat. Between a 26'CC, a 17' CC and a 15' tiller, and like you I enjoy the 15' twice as much as the other two combined. Lift the tongue, walk it a foot to the ball, simple to pull, launch/load easy, 3-4 minutes with the hose, 2 minutes with the muffs, it's done and ready for the next splash. That outboard, I wouldn't take $1500 for it as is. I may be wrong, you've surely checked with the fb page members, but that's my thoughts. Enjoy!!
Pick up a 77 tri hull , did lower end seals carbs and fiber glass , work to trailer. Rode her on the water many a time lots of fun .Great boat always enjoy a challenge keep them videos coming
We redid teh gel coat on our old Monark in like 1984 and it came out nice, I was 14 then but I remember it being easy. Made aa huge difference on the original blue.

This is captain Stavros from Panama city Florida really enjoyed these two videos on the boat. I think this winter I will try and restore a small Jon boat bye 4 now.
i love this. im doing the same thing with a 16' venture with a 100hp mariner boat, motor, trailer i bought for $200 that was being used as a trash-can. engine fired right up and runs great, just doing carpet now
I am 14 years old and they’re is a boat with no engine in my woods and the people who own it I am going to ask if I can buy it for 20 dollars and completely fix it up
100hp Mariner is a early model Mercury Tower Of Power awesome engines we a boat with the same engine she gives my Mercury 150hp Tower Of Power a run for it's money

Great videos, reminds me of the day back in 73 I bought a Fiberform and rebuilt like you did. Lasted me and family over 20 years. Enjoy it like it is, Glaspar made solid boats. Take up bass fishing, you are equipped. Part three, gel coat and it will be choice.
i was a lucky on back in 1974 my Dad said no motorcycles in my house so he loaned me 900 bucks and i bought a boston wailer 13 ft fun for the next 7years untill i bought a Glastron
old school chrysler motor on a glass stream, ohh the memories im soo glad your giving it new life, well done sir! one thing ill point out is never spray clear coat on gel coat, it will never last and will peel within a year, makes it much harder too fix than just buffing and polishing the gel coat, theres also alot of products out there that will bring the shine back you just have to apply it every few months.
Great job restoring that boat, especially getting that motor to run like you did! I think your next step on the boat needs to be an awesome sound system with Bluetooth connection. Think about it, a old looking boat goes by the dock with an awesome loud sound system! Add some running lights to it also for night. Plus you would get more out of the boat when you sell it.
Chrysler motors were good in there time, they went to Force. My first boat had a monster 130 Chrysler on it run up bout 55mph. The ignition packs went out and the cdi, boat mechanics said get rid of it, it was obsolete. Put an 85 Evinrude on her ran it 20 yrs til I got a newer boat Larson Delta Conic with a Volvo Penta inboard, 4.3L V6 , counter rotating props, total bad ass! Good luck with that old beast!
Did the same to a 95 procraft, hung a restored 2.5 Merc 200 effect, hours of sanding and polish. Looks and runs out at 75mph. CHRYSLERS were never performance engines, however good simple dependable motor, Brother had a 120. Enjoyed video!!
Ol boat is looking pretty good we have a Mark Twain speed boat my parents have a StarCraft and I just picked up a Rinker 182 Mint condition interior is like new
Weigh the boat, compare it to the rated max weight, I think you'll have a good laugh. I just cut one up, the rear section foam was soaked and alone exceeded the max claimed weight of the entire boat. Love your videos.
That water pump impeller was stuffed! Glad to see you changed it... Flat spots where it rubs, blades permanently curved - it would not have worked for much longer. The flat spots are worn away from starting it dry.
Forgot to add - to get the blades all facing the right way, rotate the drive shaft in its normal direction as you push the housing down over the impeller and they'll all go into place.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow The ones who hate them are fools. They are strong motors. I own several and they are easy to work on and run well. Use Amsoil for your pre mix oil and use NGK spark plugs.
That original pump impellor was only fit for the bin ... You must have struck unbelievably lucky to get the engine cooling feed pipe into the pump first go .
I replaced one of my storage covers with plastic cutting board material, also did my fender sides as the wood just doesn't last. The plastic is strong and will never rot, once and done. Try it out on one or two and see what you think. I bought my stuff off of amazon of course and you can carpet it as well.

In 1982 Glasstream boats in Nashville Ga waz building 168 boats a week in worked in the bass wood shop for 5 yrs the vin number is under drivers seat and on the Right rear corner
the dumpster such a fitting name for the boat you cant beat a free boat tho as i got my 1980 Hydrostream Virage that has a chrysler 75 for free 10 years ago now only work i have needed to do in that time was the top seal 2 times and fit a new teleflex steering kit as the old cable setup broke me on me 2 summers ago
👍👌👏 It's great to have things in good technical condition but you don't have to worry about the rest sp much. A scratch more or less, no problem at all. That's what patina restoration is all about. Driving and having fun. 2) Worth only 1.500 bucks? Are you joking? Everything seems to be way more expensive over here in Germany. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
Another thing most don't do with multi carb set ups is sync(ballance) the carbs. You may have one carb pulling harder than the other. Which, on this engine you could have two cyls working harder than the other two. You need a set of vac gauges to do this.
that boat has a similar hull shape to ym hydrasport z270. funny how alot of boats look fairly similar. that boat looks fun though and it floats, runs good too so thats all that matters!

I will bet you can do THAT just as well as anybody. Forget the boat detail guy. Pull that joker into the garage and just paint it yourself. Great videos. Love the boat vids.
100% just keep sending it, the thing looks like a bunch of fun and you can take it places youd never dare venture with a 30k$ boat, not worry about it being stolen, not worry about wrecking it or anything like that just 100$ worth of fun and hey if the entire outboard rips off or the thing splits in two just make sure you have lots of go pros mounted to it and grab em all before disembarking
