Would you recommend the MSI 27inch Oled for work (text clarity) or would you recommend something else? I do use my current monitor for competitive gaming
I use my QD-OLEDs for work and gaming, but also I’m old enough that I don’t have problems with text clarity. However, it depends on how dynamic your work screen is; the other main issue you’d have to worry about is burn-in.
So i have a 4090, 7800X3D and a MSI MPG 271QRX 1440p 360hz and ive got to say i absolutely love it the 4090 wont be able to do 240fps at 4k on most games besides esports and competitive online games, so to me there was no point in going 4k 240hz when the extra headroom that the 4090 gets from running at 1440p lets me hit 240hz/360hz very consistently on a lot of games even a 4090 is starting to get slammed down to 60fps at 4k in some titles
There was no point in you taking 27 inches + QHD + 360Hz. All professional athletes play on 24 inches + FHD + 540Hz ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP or BenQ ZOWIE XL2586X. The most important thing is 540Hz and it has a black frame insertion technology, which increases image clarity. And even OLED 480Hz cannot achieve such clarity. The second reason is because all championships use 24 inches 540Hz. Thirdly, it is easier for a video card to give more fps in FHD than QHD. Therefore, for competitive games, 27 inches + QHD + 360Hz is not suitable for your monitor. If the goal is eSports, then you made a mistake by buying your monitor. If the goal is just to play for your own pleasure, you also made a mistake. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 gives only 40 fps on ultra with ultra settings + path tracing, on 4090. And you have to turn on DLSS quality (950p resolution) + FG and get 110-130 frames. On a 4K monitor, 4090 gives only 22 fps with the same settings. You just turn on more DLSS performance (1080p resolution) + FG and get 100-120 frames. Therefore, you made a mistake by buying this monitor
@Vincent-v9q there's no reason to any of this man, it's literally all unnecessary 😂 we could all still be playing on 4k 60 panels or 1080p/1440p 120hz panels and still be happy, it's all a luxury man none of it is required, we want QD OLEDs because we want them I positively love my QD OLED, 1440p 360hz panel the latency is wonderful it's legitimately smooth, I feel like I'm playing online shooter games slightly better than my old 1440p 165hz IPS panel, it looks amazing the colors really pop, HDR is fantastic image clarity is superb, and I can hit 360fps in a lot more titles at 1440p than I can with 240fps at 4k, even the 4090 isn't going to be able to run all the games at 4k 240fps, that's where 1440p is nice because those more demanding games will run 1440p 240fps+ it's was my justification for it, not everyone is going to want that but I'm very latency sensitive and I prefer the highest FPS I can get, and I'd rather have 200+fps at 1440p than 60-100fps at 4K
@Vincent-v9q also I do not use framegen I'll use regular DLSS but I don't like FG, the artifacts bug me a lot and the increased latency is not worth the perceived smoothness I've tried it a few times and it just didn't feel as good as just running it with just DLSS and maybe lowering a graphics setting or two
@@aarongavin1204 Do you understand what I'm telling you? I repeat. There is no difference in fps, since modern games require DLSS. And it doesn't matter what your native resolution is, 1440p or 2160p. You will have to use DLSS to achieve 60+ fps. In 1440p + DLSS quality, the same fps with 2160p + DLSS performance, since the image is rendered at 950-1080p. In games like CS, Apex, Fortnite, etc. Those who play for the result use minimal graphics settings to better see the enemy, and 4090 easily renders 500+ frames in 2160p. You are trying to justify your purchase. Using FG is your choice. I would rather play a game at 120 fps with FG than 60 fps without FG.
If you are waiting on the 5090 then you might aswell wait for a decent monitor that supports DP 2.1 with UHBR20 otherwise there is no point. Once the 5090 comes out there will be an influx of decent monitors with 2.1 and UHBR20.

I'm not even thinking about replacing my AW3423DW with a 4k monitor until they can get the VRR flicker under control. The AW3423DW with the hardware G-Sync module is the only OLED with no VRR flicker in gameplay. Maybe next year, but I'm not holding my breath.
so many new tech has crap ruin it like the flicker you mention. A book should be wrote going back to psyx and prior about all the junk invested in and is not ready to go the right way. ugh just thought of early hdmi handshake issues during ps360 era.
I’m debating on waiting for the PG27UCDM as I currently have a 27 inch 4k IPS Monitor, I do want the 32” UCDM but I’m worried that it will be too big, and won’t be as good for Competitive Gaming.
I have pg32ucdm and it’s an awesome monitor. However, I would wait in your case for the 27 inch since you are used to it. Plus it shouldn’t be that long for it to come out
I went from 24 inch 1080 last year to 32 inch 4k and honstly I got used to the size in just a few days and now I cant go smaller. If honestly just depends on your desk size.
This will probably be dumb of me but ill probably upgrade to a 5060 ti or a 5070 for the meantime to upgrade my streaming but eventually shoot for the 5090. I do want to upgrade to 4K OLED so. In terms of internet my bandwidth can handle multistreaming but I feel like my PC can't because if I multistream, it lags other platforms. Ideally though, I want the 5090. I would get a PG32UCDM now but part of me feels like I should get the GPU first BECAUSE by the time I get a new GPU, newer monitors would be out by then.
Currently deciding what to do. I have the 240hz asus 32 qdoled and love the monitor, but the first person shooters dont feel great on the larger screen yet. Between 120fps and 140fps on Cod on a 4080. Part of me wants to hold onto this monitor and get the 5090 this year which would hopefully push to 240hz in shooters. Part of me wants to go buy a 27" 1440p oled 360hz instead and get the frames up. It truly is a great monitor and i think i would miss the beautiful picture clarity. Maybe i just need to get used to the new screen size and 4k resolution. I feel owning both types of monitors would make me realize how good the picture in 4k looks next to the 1440p😂.
@@zlaygg Is that the first time in history the 80 level didn't beat the previous 90 level? I want to discredit the leak but knowing how nv wants to change price points I totally can believe it.
@d4rkforce01 perhaps it's the subpixel layout, voltage or some other aspect of OLED Vs woleds. It might be a coincidence where most woleds are matt? However forums and stores are filled with these opinions and none of the revewers has reported this... They never do, that's why I went with y27qf-30 because I heard it's a delight for your eyes and that turned out true. It's like cushion for eyeballs. Same with BFI in screens... Ufo tests, motion clarity FTW... yet on some monitors your eyes want to pop...
@@jackskalski3699 Oh yes. That does make more sense to me since subpixel layout = blurry text causing more eye strain. You know what that makes more sense. Matte though would feel like it'd worsen the clarity though so I don't think glossy would be the problem. I also know that flicker is a thing so there might be problems there with eye strain. Good points.
I honestly think its all waiting for CES monitors they should have DP 2.1 and HDMI 2.2. Also, I would get 5090 at launch. If you are interested in one, it'll be out of stock for a while after, and then you have potential tariffs
Asus's little dongle/logo thing under their monitor doesn't look like it would play nice with Tobii eye tracking that needs to be mounted there. But Asus is doing this for all their monitors now and I guess the markets for Eye tracking is small enough they haven't realized an issue yet.
Problem with 4k 240 is the size currently. We need a glossy 27" 4k 240. I'll stick to my 271qrx until I can get a 27" 4k 240 that'll hit 1500 nits. Hoping next year we get a big upgrade to brightness.
@BigWisper not really. Full screen brightness and 10% window is still extremely lacking for qd OLED. I want tv level brightness. Monitors aren't even close.
@ TVs are capped at 120hz 4K with poor windows HDR compatibility. Yes it’s not as bright but the swift does an incredible job in overall brightness and contrast. All at 240hz
@BigWisper no it does alright. It doesn't do any better than the 360hz qd OLED I already have. I'm not saying it's not a good monitor. I'm saying these are the specs I'm waiting for before upgrading to 4k OLED. Also HDR compatibility on TVs is a big cap. Never heard anyone complain about a tv being any different than a monitor for windows HDR.

Asus of course will send to the market the refresh of the pg32ucdm with dp 2.1... they will not stay behind in the market, with msi and gigabyte having oleds already with dp 2.1.
I'm using a 55" S95C that I picked up on a crazy sale. Got it for A$1600, the cheapest QDOLED 32" 4k240hz monitors at the time were more expensive.I only play on ps5 Pro, so the extra frames weren't needed, and the extra brightness of the TV is amazing!
LG 45GR95QE-B Curved Ultragear Gaming Monitor 45-Inch (3440 x 1440) OLED Display, 240Hz 900 bucks win 4k is where it's at love mine and since Fortnite is all I play I don't get 240fps in 4k all max settings on my 4090. I don't think a 5090 will peg 240fps with all settings maxed in Fortnite. In apex a 4090 will peg 240fps in 4k all max its comical.
Don't buy this monitor. It's not worth the asking price. It doesn't have a port that can output 4K 240Hz uncompressed. The only 4K OLED monitor today that can output uncompressed is the MSI MAG QD-OELD 321UP. It's a 165Hz monitor. If you buy a 32" monitor, you're clearly not going to focus on competitive gaming. No professional gamer plays on 32", and they don't play on 27". The standard monitor for competition is 24". That's why athletes only play on 24". There is no difference in smoothness between 165Hz and 240Hz. Especially in graphically advanced games today, the 4090 gives less than 30 fps in 4K and even with DLSS and FG, you can only count on 100-130 fps. For example, in the games Cyberpunk, Wukong, Alanweik, etc. I played at 100-120 fps. At the same time, on my 4090 I set 4k + DLSS performance (that is, in fact, 1080p) + FG and I get about 100-120 fps in these games. Even 5090 will not be able to give me 200+. 5090 will be faster by about 50%. Therefore, you absolutely do not need a 4K + 240Hz monitor, especially one that does not have a port with the transfer speed needed for 240Hz in 4K. Better buy 321UP or wait for new monitors. Dislike to the author for not talking about such important things.
Display 2.1 wouldn't matter in the long run anyways no game utilizes this let alone be optimized for it to even run past 120hz. 4k is amazing at 80 to 120 fps which is what I get with my 4080 on my asuspg32ucdm. If I want to play at 1440p I just downscale to that with my black boarders and max out my frames at 220frames for esports Im not sure what you mean about the 4090 not being able to handle this 😂
@@MG-ff7se try to understand this topic, search for information. To use 240 Hz and 4K resolution, you need a bandwidth of 69 Gbps. HDMI 2.1 can only give 48 Gbps, DP 2.1 78 Gbps. You already need DP 2.1 today to get an uncompressed picture. All you get today is an overcompressed picture in DSC.

Just got the asus 480hz and mainly play cs Val apex and cod and I couldn’t be any happier with my choice going from ips 1440 240hz was night and day difference.
No option for ultrawide at all? My MSI MPG 341CQPX kicks a$$ at 240Hz too. 😉
Overall 4K resolution is a better investment, but next year we may get 4K ultrawide.
what do you think of the Dough Spectrum Black 32 4k 240hz monitor? I like its aesthetics way more than the ones you mentioned but don't want to overpay🤔
Love your coverage man, always lots of pretty gameplay footage, well reasoned points based on your actual hands on experience and just the right amount of humor peppered in. Keep it up!
The LG OLED looks incredible, and the coating is perfect.
I can finally rub Vaseline on it with no noticeable change in clarity
5k resolution, 21/9, 120Hz monitor a dell u4125qw, as color accuracy is most important for me , enjoying it now for a few weeks.
I’m still pretty happy with the 32 inch QD OLED from Dell. I struggle to notice a difference after 240 FPS
Yeah guys, do what he says. More 5090's for us who already have good monitors.
Is there any more information about the rumour about nvidia moving away g sync.
Do make best monitor list for every Rtx cards ( which the cards can keep up for the warranty duration of the card, like 3-5 years )
Im gonna get the 5090 but knowing my luck idk if I'll be fast before they run out of stock
when is alleged release date?
odyssey neo g9 57 7680x2160 @ 240hz on dp 2.1
What's the best monitor to watch movies?
Can you do a video for 1440p OLED monitors ?
I went with rog swift pg27aqdp since I play mostly fps games. Hope the 50 series cards don't disappoint.
That’s what I have. So good
If you are waiting on the 5090 then you might aswell wait for a decent monitor that supports DP 2.1 with UHBR20 otherwise there is no point. Once the 5090 comes out there will be an influx of decent monitors with 2.1 and UHBR20.
I got my self the Gygabyte one with DP 2.1 this month, with anticipation of 5090. But now I'm thinking if I should return it, and see which new monitors will be annouced at CES as well.
360p?
Indeed wtf... or are we too early? 😆
There we go, all in 4K glory! 😅
Hertz, don’t it?
I have dual PG32UCDMs for watching HDR content and 4K gaming.
I plan on keeping them when I make the jump to 5090.
Couldn’t the title be more like 5090, 5080, and 4090? I assumed that the specs would go from 5090 < 5080 < 4090
After the leaks we got, the 4090 is going to be much more powerfull compared to the 5080. 5080 seems more like a 4080ti
@ if that’s the case, then a 2nd hand 4090 would be a better buy
@@zlaygg Is that the first time in history the 80 level didn't beat the previous 90 level? I want to discredit the leak but knowing how nv wants to change price points I totally can believe it.
AM I dumb to think I can purchase a 5090 on launch day? Will scalpers buy them all out in seconds?
I use a 1440p monitor with my 4090 because I'd rather have higher frame rates so I need a recommendation for a 1440p monitor.
Howdy display guy, what about eye strain? I hear glossy olds are worse on your eyes than Matt
I don't buy that at all. A type of finish on the display causing eye strain? I doubt it's the finish.
You used a grinding wheel on your monitor? I like that.
It's a polishing wheel
@@GladiarOfDestruction thank god you said that, i was about to use my orbital sander on my next oled...😋
@@MeoithTheSecond make sure you only use 40 grit otherwise it wont work
I honestly think its all waiting for CES monitors they should have DP 2.1 and HDMI 2.2. Also, I would get 5090 at launch. If you are interested in one, it'll be out of stock for a while after, and then you have potential tariffs
Really excited for the MPG 322URX review...
Asus's little dongle/logo thing under their monitor doesn't look like it would play nice with Tobii eye tracking that needs to be mounted there. But Asus is doing this for all their monitors now and I guess the markets for Eye tracking is small enough they haven't realized an issue yet.
I just bought the gigabyte oled fo32u2p 240hz 4k with Dp 2.1 connector , right now the only monitor with Dp 2.1
Samsung Odyssey Neo G95NC 57" ;)
I love seeing people talk about what good part they’re getting and some already have expensive parts while my broke ass is using an i3-12100F
I feel u bruh
Get a Samsung S95D TV. OLED, 144hz, 4k, 2ms response time
If you can afford a 5090, you can get whatever you want
You'd need an oled with dp 2.1 and 480-540hz.
Bold of you to assume I'm getting one in the first place
I have the alienware and am loving it. the curve is nice.
Ditto!
Problem with 4k 240 is the size currently. We need a glossy 27" 4k 240. I'll stick to my 271qrx until I can get a 27" 4k 240 that'll hit 1500 nits. Hoping next year we get a big upgrade to brightness.
27 in 4k ppi will be crazy
Asus Swift with its QD-Oled panel is insanely bright and looks amazing in 4k
Buy a gaming TV, they are similar to monitor response rate these days
I'm hoping next generation tvs will have hdmi 2.2 new standard for 4k 240hz or 8k 120hz.
Just got my LG 45 inch OLED 240mhz
I would personally get a 500hz 1440p OLED rolling scan blur reduction yech with monitor but it doesn't exist
4k plus all day 1440p for me just dont cut it even with my 4070ti super i dont like it.but maybe its that vizio mqx qled 120hz 4k.or i out on 240 hz at 1080p
Definitely looking to cop one of those bad boys later next year.
Already got the pg32ucdm and the pg42uq, can't wait for the 5090 currently running a 9800x3d paired with a 7900xtx and loving the performance but I want more 😅
Buy an Oled tv that pushes 165htz with good black and brightness
DP2.1 or BUSTTTTTT
LG G4 65". At least that's what I'm picking.
I'm going to get a 360hz 1440p and a 240hz 4k both qd oled ofc when the 5080/5090 releases. Any monitor over 28" is impractical lol.
All OLED monitors ... No way ... Those are all monitors for those who don't have to do anything with a computer ...
If you buy a 5090 dont buy a monitor right now! Wait for ces 2025 and see what they come up with
Asus of course will send to the market the refresh of the pg32ucdm with dp 2.1... they will not stay behind in the market, with msi and gigabyte having oleds already with dp 2.1.
Bro review the spectrum black
Firmware isn’t ready. Next week.
@ omg I love you. The firmware is still trash so give it a chance after all the bs gets worked out and it’s available at Best Buy
$1K for the asus is starting to get interesting
If I want to play at 1440p I just downscale to that with my black boarders and max out my frames at 220frames for esports
Im not sure what you mean about the 4090 not being able to handle this 😂
@@MG-ff7se try to understand this topic, search for information.
