You summed it up well. It’s a great TV, but not at its current price. The 85” price isn’t too bad, but the 75” & 65” are in desperate need of large price reductions.
From my understanding, the rainbow reflections are not caused by the anti-reflective coating, but rather the “X-Wide Angle” layer within the TV, which spreads light coming out of the screen to provide a wider viewing angle. But this is a two way street, as light coming into the screen also gets spread out, creating rainbow streaks and smears. OLED TVs don’t need a wide angle layer which is why they don’t have rainbow reflections. However, considering how good the wide angle capabilities of this TV are, the rainbows seem like a worthwhile trade off.
I want the 85" version, the Bravia 9 is here in Germany 1.000,- € cheaper than the LG G4 in 83" and we have a very bright living room and I like Sony anyway! :-)
I only just learned now that the best monitor deal was apparently Samsung selling their Neo G9 Super Ultra wide for 30% off plus buy one get one free. Not really a fan of curved displays and prefer basic 16:9, but damn that's a steal.
Still waiting for an ultra wide 4K version of the existing 240Hz displays. Maybe even with 360Hz to really feel like an upgrade from my AW3423DW. A 5090 to go with it in time, hopefully
So i send my asus rig ucdm in for repair they fixed a issue i had with my screen but came back with scratches and just really poor care. I called them they told me to take a photo but camera u cant tell. What should i fo?
I’m waiting for next year - we should see 83” QD oled - competition will lower that size prices, and I think we will see 2k+ nits, making B9 absolutely owned. I’m sure despite that Sony won’t discount them further lol.
@@yonkocommander5531 No it is not. Silly thing to say and you cannot prove or back that up. Some QDOleds, yes on par, or better. G$, MLA, some better, some worse. Never Woled.
@@vybo8921you probably haven’t but I’ve actually had both TV’s in front of me and even tho the B9 is the best mini led TV Ive ever seen, the only substantial win over WOLED for B9 is color brightness, but the biggest dealbreakers are gaming content (per pixel response time is unbeatable) and on any black scene the blooming on the B9 will wreak the blacks just like every LED TV out there, everything else is pretty even.
Stop comparing Mini-Leds with Oleds ffs, why do all tv reviewers do this? Do you compare electric cars with normal cars and complain that they can't drive 500 kilometers without having to fill up? It's pointless, these are two completely different technologies. I'm considering buying a mini-led because I don't want burn-in, I know that oleds are better and don't need a tv reviewer to point it out to me for the gazillionth time.
I think the fact that this TV is compared to OLEDs actually demonstrates how good this TV is. I guess its also understandable to compare them to OLEDs since it is priced at the same level as the other flagship OLEDs. I'm actually more annoyed at all the OLED fanboys that love to dismiss the Bravia 9. Both Mini-LED and OLED have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Maybe it’s the fact that they’re both TV’s in the same price range and will be used for the same things? What else should he compare a $5k mini led to?
My only beef with most reviewers is that they think Oled is the no brainer for all. That’s not the case some don’t have the environment for one. My living room is too bright and the tv is on much longer than the average person so I don’t want to fear burn in. I’m not an oled hater as I have one in my bedroom. In my living room I have a Sony x90l and really enjoy it. But if you want a mini get the Bravia 7 as it’s ball park Bravia 9 for a lot less. Rtings said this too.

Is 32 inch glossy mini LED a thing?
😢
Have you seen the difference between the B7 and B9 and if so what are the main things/points
Hi, have you calibrated this TV? Is so can you share/post your entire settings?
I have. I’ll be posting them on Patreon soon.

I was eyeballing the 98-inch version, but 4k plus tax and wall mount i passed. I bought a Sony Bravia B9 75-inch for my bedroom instead 😂 I love it.

83” WOLED is already smoking the B9

Sony sucks, i followed direction from Sony bc my tv was running slow and wanted to fix it... now the TV wont start. The tv is 2 years old
Not for me. Ive seen it...waaay too dull in colour and dynamics.
$5k to still see blooming. No thanks
I have the 75-inch version, zero blooming.
Best at WHAT? This is blashpemy.
Id rather get a Sisense 100 inch U8N for the same price. Not even close.
