The title of this song appears as the 1st words in the song Missing You, which was written by John Waite, Chas Sanford and Mark Leonard. John Waite on lead vocals, guitar 🎸 and bass guitar. Jonathan Cain on guitar 🎸 and keyboards 🎹..Ricky Phillips on bass guitar 🎸. Tony Brock on drums 🥁. The Babys broke up 💔 in 1981. Waite went solo. Brock joined Sir Rod Stewart. Cain joined Journey. But in 1987, Journey broke up 💔. Waite, Phillips, Cain, Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo formed Bad English. Greg Rolie and Ross Valory formed The Storm. In 1997. Both.bands broke up 💔. Journey reunited. Steve Perry quit again. Atnel Pineda is the recent lead singer.
Great song, the band had a couple fairly big hits. His voice is one of the great ones from the 70s and early 80s. The backup singers on this were unstoppable!
Hi Shawn and Mel, beautiful song. I haven't heard that in years I loved it. That was a good description of the time period Mel, 1978-81 were great years for music. People don't often talk about that special sound that came in between the decades. There was a lot of really cool old school music being inspired by the new sounds, yet the new sounds were still rooted in the old school. It was truly the best of both worlds!
What are the most underrated group from the 70s and an underrated singer. Love these guys. Give you the warm fuzzies whenever you hear them. PS I love me some Shawn & Mely Mel
81 Had knee surgery Then Back On My Feet Again, Midnight Rendezvous Racing Cars on Westheimer Houston (WHEN HOUSTON WAS EXCELLENT) AWESOME MEMORIES ❤TX
They were such a good band. Jonathan Cain of The Babys ended up in the group Journey along with Neal Schon who was in Santana before he joined Journey.
When Jonathan Cain was with "The Baby's" he wrote the song "Open Arms". The rest of the band didn't think it was right for them. Then when Cain joined Journey they decided to record it and it became a huge hit.
The lead singer, John Waite, was in an 80s group named "Bad English." You should check out "When I See You Smile"... An AMAZING love ballad!!! Love you two ❤
Yes, when this song came on the radio in the car it was freaking awesome! You had to crank the volume. You can't "not" get into this song. Such a cool sound.
I always loved this song, I was 15 then blasting the house with this back then and being told to turn it down by my parents. I always loved it , also their other one called Isn't It Time, they are such classics and should be passed on to future generations and not forgotten. Not many songs move me to the point of getting a tear in my eye but these two do it to me everytime, I'm not in love or remembering a person inparticul, it's purely the songs. .
Saw them open for Alice Cooper believe it or not, in '79 or '80..Evansville, IN. Have seen John Waite solo many times, and going to see him in February in Laughlin, NV. Saw the keyboard player, Jonathan Cain, several times with Journey as well.
They have a Huge Huge catalog ! This came out the year I graduated high school ! Love the Baby's ! The lead singer is John Waite, you guys have reacted to one of his songs in his solo career after the baby's broke up !
Well put. Great song constructing on this album. One of the most underrated albums even with the hits it produced. The background vocals are the Babettes who were Myrna Matthews, Pat Henderson and Marti McCall at that time. I think Myrna Mathews is the lead background vocal. It's not the background singers in the video. Myrna Mathews is Black and has done a lot of work with Steely Dan and many other artists. I think she sings backup on Whitney's I Want To Dance With Somebody.
Hi I am a 61 year old women and in the seventies I fell in love with a song by Shirley Peeples call I can't stand the rain would love to see you reaction of it . I am on a fixed income and gave tight budget but will donate when can if you would play this forgotten gem 😅
This song came out at EXACTLY the same time that me and my ex were dating and my parents wanted me to have nothing to do with him. But their driving to force us apart just pushed us further. I got pregnant and we married a few months later (justice of the peace) and had our 1st daughter. My family came around but only for the sake of their precious granddaughter. Long story short...one more daughter and a narcissist and emotional/verbal abuser later (30 years), I finally divorced him. That was 13 years ago and I have earned the right not to feel guilt or self-hatred. I've been freed. A beautiful, poignant, and very well orchestrated song and I love it so much, just a bit ironic ya know.
John Waite has out a documentary called The Hard Way it's been out for a year you can find it for free. You'll find out everything that's happened to him its raw and reall the unvarnished truth about the music business.
Isn’t it time . I’ve been trying to have you play isn’t it time for a while but I no u can’t play it tell we pay to see it o well u will get to there best sing one day maybe
Gotta hear Isn't It Time?!!!

You can hear the 70's and the 80's in this song. I never thought of that and you are so right. That is really an astute observation.
81 Had knee surgery Then Back On My Feet Again, Midnight Rendezvous Racing Cars on Westheimer Houston (WHEN HOUSTON WAS EXCELLENT)
AWESOME MEMORIES ❤TX
Thank you!!!
Love the Baby's! I was a Jr in high school and listened to the Baby's on the radio to and from school. Drivers license, 16 and a car!!!!
You guys are cool. Love this song.
They were such a good band. Jonathan Cain of The Babys ended up in the group Journey along with Neal Schon who was in Santana before he joined Journey.

Saw them in concert. Awesome band. John Waite (lead singer) went solo years later & saw him in concert. "Missing You" is an great ballad.

Midnight Rendezvous is another really good Baby's rocker, besides the other songs mentioned here!

Bad Animals - Journey & The Babys
Isn’t It Time I personally think is their best.
Run to Mexico is a banger
John Waite has out a documentary called The Hard Way it's been out for a year you can find it for free. You'll find out everything that's happened to him its raw and reall the unvarnished truth about the music business.
