Very first song I heard of The Sweet was "Little Willy" when I was in grade school. Great song as well as this! The back story to this song is that there was a real Ballroom Blitz when they were performing in a bar so they made a song from it.
Oh you guys ... this band were huge in the early 70s .. " Fox on the Run " , " Love is Like Oxygen " , " Little Willy " , " Blockbuster " , " Teenage Rampage " ... They are all hip swingers , enjoy . Great to see you back :)
You would be interested in a more modern day band version of Sweet, called The Darkness 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love '. The band's drummer is Rufus Taylor, whose dad is Roger Taylor, the drummer from Queen !!
The song was inspired by a disastrous concert in Kilmarnock, Scotland on January 27, 1973. The audience threw bottles at the band, and some even cut their hair with scissors hidden in their handbags. The band had to stop performing and return to London.
Your reactions warmed my heart! ... Virtually the same as mine, just over 50 years ago when I first heard this song ☺️ ... Merry Christmas, you two lovely young people! 🎄
Good for you and glad for us watching you for appreciate the very early 70`s Glam British rock, as represented by Sweet, with this stunning song, a blast from the very punchy Mick`s smashing snare drum intro, and the rest of the song. In may old school days, in parties, this was the one when everybody jumped to the dance floor, leaving on the table the beers, whisky or soft drinks, believe me, back in 1975/1976. The lead guitar and founder member, Andy Scott, is still alive until today, Thanks God. Great reaction, Merry Christmas, God bless you friends.
I was reading about the life and death of the lead singer. This song was about the time their fans dragged them off the stage and took out scissors they smuggled in and started cutting their hair for souvenirs. Said the lead singer, Brian Connelly developed PTSD from it. Check out their song "Love Is Like Oxygen" next please.
It’s the law that when a Sweet song is played then a Slade one has to follow as these two rocked the 70’s with Slade coming out on top. Cum on Feel the Noize was the same time as this so a good place to start Brian Connelly and Noddy Holder had two of the most distinctive voices of the time
Hey beautiful people, you two are awesome! I hope everything you've gone through makes you stronger, brings you even closer together, & reveals a joy coming up from inside that is much harder to destroy. Thank you for a great reaction, & for being on youtube!
Funny you said the man in the back said get ready to attack and having a drink or 2. The band was performing in Kilmarnock,Scotland in 1973. Apparently party goers were shocked by the men's presence, the makeup, glittery clothing. Sadly the band was driven offstage by whats known as a "bottling," Fans got so angry and unnerved that they started throwing things onto the stage. Regardless of the damage and danger that the band took on during the bottling, it resulted in an all-time classic glam rock song.
Shawn and Mel you might have heard a version of this before actress tia carare played a rock singer in the movie Wayne's world and sang the song in the movie (if you saw the movie)
This song is based on a true incident that happened to the band in 1973; they were performing in Scotland, were not well received, and were driven offstage by "Bottling", that is when the audience starts booing and throwing things at the band, forcing them to leave the stage.
Sweet has a looot of awesome songs! Here are a few to check out: The six teens Action Fox on the run Fever of Love The lies in your eyes Set me free Merry Christmas! 🎄
The song is about a real incident that happened at one of their gigs and a fight broke out and ,it got CRAZY!

That snare drum sound.
Seen Sweet in concert then met them after here in Nottingham in the 70s glam rock rules
Today only one real member of the four original members of SWEET is stil alive Andy Scott and NOW in the band are new musicians.
You would be interested in a more modern day band version of Sweet, called The Darkness 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love '. The band's drummer is Rufus Taylor, whose dad is Roger Taylor, the drummer from Queen !!
This has always been just a great fun, party song. Glad to see you both enjoy it! Merry Christmas!

Cum on Feel the Noize was the same time as this so a good place to start
Brian Connelly and Noddy Holder had two of the most distinctive voices of the time
Love is Like Oxygen and Fox on the Run are another 2 great ones by them
The album version of Love is like oxygen is way better than the radio version.
We used to speed skate to this song.
Sweet kicked some ass...
Mel, you're moves there were the best!!!❤

You should listen to their song, Love is Like Oxygen. Another huge hit and great song
If you're open to recommendations I can say check out the song "Action" by The Sweet. It's another great song IMHO.
Just a few weeks ago you two were breaking up, Shawn was on his deathbed and the Devil was after ya'll. lol

Tia Carera does a good cover of this in "Wayne's World", too.
Honestly ignore the shit written by Chinn and Chapman. You want the real Sweet listen to anything on 'Desolation Boulevard' or 'Sweet F A'.
Have you reacted to Little Willy by Sweet
Have you reacted to Rumours by timex
