I mean, this will do a fairly good job of blocking the wind in dry conditions, in winter this carpet is going to grow a LOT of mould eventually and stink. It's going to absorb/wipe off water that's on the door each time you open it. There are still some pretty hefty gaps at each end, offcuts or shorter pieces of brush seal would fill those and mould to the ridges in the door.
Get a piece of timber, paint it, install it to fill a fair amount of the gap and use a brush seal. You can get really wide brush seals up to and over 200mm. Not expensive, won't stink in winter or rot and fall down eventually.

I'd be more worried about the fact that carpet will be very damp in winter as it wipes water off the door every time it's raining and the door opens. Thats going to be a mould factory for sure and probably smell.
Better option would have been the brush seal and pack out with a strip of painted timber as required or find one of the really long brush seals. You can get 200mm+ brush seals.
