Thank you so much for sharing your idea here! I’m disabled & off work for the first time ever, unable to afford anyone to come and fix the freezing cold and dirt that homes into the house via the garage. This is a brilliant idea and tutorial. Very grateful for your time ❤

I started by looking up brush type draught excluders for this problem, before I though of looking on UA-cam.
Sure enough, your video provided a solution for me and many others. Thank you! 👍

What a brilliant idea. I was wondering how I’d be able to resolve this and here we are. Food for thought.

What a great video mate! I've been searching for a while for a method to draft seal and this looks perfect. This is my job for tomorrow.

Nice draught excluder John, and I guess it will also brush off a certain amount of dust off the external side.

Brilliant video I have this problem with my unit for car detailing but my gap between the roller and out side is huge so will have to improvise a bit more

Nice one john. Turning into a lovely little workplace that. Hope your going to do a video on keeping the car sorted through these coming months.

I'm going through the same issue, I have a small workshop and a gym setup. But it's too cold to use in winter months as the heat escapes very quickly. I was going to use a brush strip, but not sure if it would seal. Great video!.

Hi John, Why didn't I think of that solution ??!! I ended up hanging a band of sunscreen on the exterior, slightly better than before but not as good as your idea.

Ha. Sunscreen! I dream of needing sunscreen🤣

What a great idea - wish I'd seen it before I cleared the old carpet out of the garage!!! Do you have any tips for insulating the slots at the sides? Mine had a short bristle affair but this has flattened over the years and draft gets round the sides of the doors.

Mine still looks ok in that regard, but I think that some of the self adhesive domestic door seals you can buy from DIY stores are the same style
Short of that you can use the soft half of self adhesive velcro.

Slide in some insulation boards between the wall and the roller frame. Worked a treat on mine. Zero draft

If you make the carpet sections wide enough to hang over the door roll the edge of the carpet will never catch on the door 😉

Marvellous. I was trying to think of a simian solution. This should be perfect. Thanks. What lift do you have, is it 3 phase. Just subscribed

Just got a new roller door fitted, draft seems to come from the sides where the slats sit not the outer frame. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

    • @SparkWah
      @SparkWah 8 місяців тому

Use thin insulation board. Cut a long thin strip and slide it between the wall and the roller frame.

perfect... if you've got a wooden lintel. Otherwise... good luck firing those screws into concrete. Oh and very conveniently placed roof trusses... yeesh.
