Little Fun Fact: 4:01 That part where the main actor plows into the running soldier wasn't scripted but the director didn't cut it because he thought it looked more convincing.
No 90 Kmph. That's 55 MPH. I honestly feel like any time I see anyone go "OMG they were speeding going 100 KMPH" I'm just like that's 62 MPH!!! That's like going 5 over on most city, nonresidential streets in the US. He said miles first and corrected to kilometers.
@@vxrtex2472 Yeah skiing isn't exactly the safest sport and people go fast on skis. Okay so the human land speed record was set skiing at 158 mph. Speed skiers normally go well over 100KMPH/ 62MPH. Recreational skiers can hit 50MPH easily if they want to be brave enough. It's like dude holding the camera probably a little bit of a professional. It's like yeah he is going fast it's cool to look at but he also knows what he is doing and he also knows the dangers. Do you see people drive and think OMG they could die any moment?
LifeLostSoul I ski and I know that for beginner to intermediate skiers that is still a fast speed. Like I ski Diamonds and I still don’t hit 50 mph much.
@@vxrtex2472 Yeah literally what I'm quoting is from an interview with a professional and they aren't saying you are going to hit 50 on accident. You have to deliberately try to do but it would be easy for a casual skier to do if they wanted to go 50. Like that going 50 isn't that difficult to achieve if you are trying to do that task.

The Mandalorian's virtual sets benefitted from a CRAP TON of research Imagineering did on creating the Millenium Falcon ride which is rendered in real-time as you ride it, because it reacts to your inputs. It's projected in 8K in real time as you fly the Falcon. So all they had to do was combine a world created in Unreal Engine 4 with the code that they used on Lord of the Rings to slave motion cameras to perspective matching dollys and boom. Done.

The problem with the Star Wars backgrounds is that they are "too perfect," and that detracts from the films for me. It's one of the reasons I don't care to see them. A BIG part of what made the original 3 films so awesome is that they were THERE in so many cases. Nothing is more real than real. That grittiness has to be there. Same as is Mad Max and Road Warrior. Fury Road was "too perfect," and the vehicle were too sophisticated and elaborate. In a post-apocalyptic world, they vehicles would not be that over the top.
