Multiple roads around Quezon City were cleared by the MMDA SO-ACU Team. The aim is to reduce the number of illegally parked vehicles which add to traffic and congestion.
You know DILG should go after the Barangay officials if MMDA is repeatedly called in a location with the same complaint. It seems they're not doing their job and they can't control their constituents repeatedly violating the law. And there should be firmer penalties for these violators especially those who take sidewalk spaces. They should be sued.
The MMDA legal department have filed stacks and stacks of complaints against various Barangays, since the start of the clearing operations. I'm not sure what action the DILG has taken on the complaints though.
@Ben Gutierrez dawg. You should run for president. Maybe the should be like china. Or the Middle East and stone people. You are as dumb as the people who park on the side walk and then cry about it.
Bong Nebrija, Gadget Addict and their team needs to cloned a hundred times with so many clearing operations that needs to be done in NCR. Its a monumental task but someone has to do it. Hats off to the MMDA team!
Honestly it's hard to find someone that can operate the same way as Bong. I've seen others try, but they often cut corners and get sloppy on the protocols. A lot of people complain that Bong is too strict and doesn't have "consideration".. but that's the only way to actually have fair and effective operations. The moment you start giving "consideration", it becomes slippery slope where enforcers are just picking and choosing who to penalize.
MMDA and DILG must implement better ways to solve illegal parking in metro manila, National govt much appoint the brgy chairman so as not to be afraid of his constituent loosing votes on election so that he/ she can act on illegal parking and cleanliness of his area
Govt. should really abolish baranggay system all together. They are useless - not doing their job, wasting money, and most civilians are not scared of them.
Pls can the MMDA go check out the surroundings of PLUTO ST. in barangay toro also... tricycles , taxi and private cars are parks on the streets and sidewalks... pls ...
0:32 The Barangay officials allowed the jeeps to have a terminal INSIDE the gas station? But that's private property! Did the Barangay have the consent of the gas station owners?
Severely poor and mismanaged urban planning that started decades ago.
Please MMDA - make rounds also on the surrounding streets of Paranaque City Hall. City Hall has new parking building and yet both LGU employees and guests violate the MMDA and City Ordinance on Illegal Parking :(
I wish the government may be able to collect money from people who build permanent structures on sidewalks...they make govt properties so cheap that they can just occupy whatever, as they wish. Thats sad.
Wish Olongapo City would take some responsibility. Just unbelievable trying to use the streets. All the sidewalks are blocked. Once again, government officials are not doing their jobs.
pls do this at brgy 179 north caloocan specifically at dela costa Homes II so much cars obstructing the road, illegal parking purchased vehicle without parking space 😆
Parking & any form of obstruction on public roads and sidewalks should be considered a federal offense since they are privately using & abusing property which belong to the government.😤
Never coordinate with the Brgy of any operation, if they were just doing their mandated obligation non of these Illegal parking would be there in the first place. The Brgy should be liable for neglect of duty.
Unfortunately that's an internal requirement of the MMDA now. That the clearing teams must coordinate with the Barangay before operating on inner streets.
Most drivers claim their vehicles back from the impound on the same day, or the next day. Unclaimed vehicles usually sit in the impound until they're so rusted and seized that they're basically only good as scrap metal.
Problem here most public vehicles are not registered or the driver doesn't have license. And the SC just stop the NCAP which helps if every car is registered. But most of the time most cars are not registered yearly
1 Bong Nebrija and 15 mmda personnel per brgy.
as much as i hate to say it, but its the truth, people dont care and they just do whatever they want. i can guarantee that after this day they went there, everythings back there the next day. The other major problem is the consequence. Ticket violation pricing is a joke, just 1000 pesos if you show your license?? make it 5k. and then 10k when it gets towed. Then price doubles on repeat offenders. Traffic Officials needs to make rounds, NOT the barangay people. If they wanna make money, they should go and make these peoples lives a living hell just as much as they are making it difficult for people on the streets.
That's one of the weaknesses right now.. the penalty never increases for illegal parking. So as long as they show their license, it's only P1000, even if they're been caught 20 times in the same place.
Thanks. I wasn't sure what the correct word is. The guards said it's part of the fire safety for the building. Either way, it's a sidewalk and there are also signs from the property owner telling people not to park there.
@@GadgetAddict The first one is a a stand pipe fire department connection, the latter, the one with bollards is a hydrant. Though both should not be obstructed.
The Jeeps? Because it's more than just a terminal. Some of them really turned that into their home. They park there, they sleep there and according to some residents / workers, they're allegedly even drinking there. They feel somewhat legalized because they have the Barangay Clearance. But the clearance is for a terminal INSIDE the gas station, not outside on the public parking spaces. And their franchise from LTFRB would require them to have off-street parking.
I originally thought he was the Barangay Chairman because that's what his shirt said. But it turns out he's actually a City councilor. I guess he just has that shirt from before.
It's crazy right? It actually happened again today. Someone parked under a sign that says "NO PARKING" was complaining that they weren't notified about the clearing operation 🤦♂️
I agree that for repeat offenders, the penalty should probably increase. If it's forever P1000, it's hard to convince people to use legal parking. If they only get caught twice a month by the MMDA, it's still cheaper than using legal paid parking.
Increasing illegal parking ticket penalties to any x amount will have little to no impact on decreasing the likelihood of illegal parking. There are numerous back alley roads in Metro Manila. The reality is, MMDA will come over and ticket these illegally parked cars, and the cars will be moved, but once the MMDA have left, what do you think will happen? The cars are illegally parked once again. Ticketing illegally parked cars is a band aid solution. A more permanent method to enforce against illegal parking should be explored.

Barangay officials should be appointed not voted.

Salamat Po Sa Pag Upload !!!
Keep up the good work MMDA, road to discipline is paved with enormous obstruction.
Include plants/plant pots/boxes in the clearing😊
Filipino Karen: "We weren't informed that you are having operations"
It happened again today. In Barangay Socorro. They were complaining that they weren't notified about the clearing operation.
Increasing the penalties 10 times would be a deterrent to all of Manila and metro area woes. Penalties now are a joke.
Love the dedication to this videos
