We've all gotten so picky and bougie when it comes to knives but in all honesty this is all 95% of us would need for a lifetime. I'm not ready to give up my pocket knives but I sure feel better prepared with a SAK on or near me. Thanks John
I had one for the last 15 years and it was robbed out of my car a few weeks ago. It had travelled the world with me. But... I just bought a new one, so time to start making new memories with this one.
I hope you'll never lose it. Do you know Victorinox maintaines it for free? You can even have broken parts returned to you if the knife is of sentimental value (which yours is I guess).
Really like your comment that the tool can be used to help someone. Many of the tools; we can't imagine needing it--but we could meet someone where the tool could be a godsend!
Loved the video thank you, just bought a used one and couldn’t identify it it must’ve an early champ it has all the features yours has minus the pliers ,the pen, and pin hole. It has the old grey magnifyer, and the main blade is well worn but still holds a good edge, i love it, thanks for the channel
The Swiss Champ has been my favorite for over 30 years now. Big but still practical. A light would just make it chunkier and heavier or it's inclusion would require omitting a couple of the existing features if it were to remain the same size. I keep a Mag Lite on my key-ring. Any Swiss Army Knife that lacks a corkscrew is...well... "underequipped". Very useful in its intended role of removing corks but also because it can hold one of those tiny screwdrivers which are perfect for tightening up those miserable little screws in the hinges of eyeglasses!
Once again a well made and informative video. The champ is by far my favorite SOK. With a bit of research and practice, i actually transplanted the digital watch scales from my Voyager to my champ and it fits fantastic. Also, i think its fantastic that you feather your tools while closeing rather than snapping them shut. Your champ will last a lifetime.
Just got one of these brand new current production.Started a dead leaf on fire with the magnifying glass and found out the fish scaler makes a decent back scratcher.
I really enjoyed the video. I appreciate your detail-orientated approach. I’m saving up for a Swiss Champ. I can’t wait to get my hands on one! Current SAK is the Huntsman. I carry it everyday… I can’t imagine not having it on me. Thanks for all the work you put into your video. I subbed!
The tooth pick is a great tool and yes to the electronics. Im outside more than inside and i usually have a electronics kit for when i work on electronics.
Thanks for the video. I love my Swiss Champ -- wouldn't leave the house without it. It's great for everyday carry and priceless in a survival situation. I've added a Fire Ant and a magnet (in the screwdriver hole). I also keep a small metal (1 3/4 inch piece of) coat hanger under the fish de-scaler with which to poke things through small holes. I sharpened one end to a point and when clasped firmly between/beneath the Hook and Corkscrew (it locks in very well) it makes the knife into an excellent drawing compass or for checking radii. Great hack! Just sane... :^) Saint
If a guy goes to Home Depot over to the hand tools, on the bottom shelf there’s some cheap needle nose made by Stanley. The interesting thing about them is they are Multitool style, needle nose, regular, wire cutter combo. A pair of those with a Swiss champ and a guy is pretty set up
The Swisschamp and Cybertools are very handy and a joy to use. I however prefer the Swisstool since it got the clip, more pocketable, locking tools, everything more beefy just the best multitool on the planet imho:)
agree with you. i love my swisstool quite alot. swiss champ is great for smaller carry! i believe some laws dont allow for locking blades in certain countries.
That thing is loaded. Depending on what you do that could come in handy. I think that would be a bit much for me but still very nice. Appreciate the review.
I can't believe how much the price of this knife varies between different sellers. From my point of view as a Swede, the price ranges from about 800 to 1700 swedish crowns. Crazy.
I like this knife it's awesome 👍👍👍👍👍. Some people or channels on UA-cam say it's to big it's 2 heavy you have to carry it in a pouch. I never carry it in a pouch. Just in the pocket. It also might have fit in the 5th jeans pick but can't remember. You are ready for anything with this knife.
I have one that’s nearly 30 years old (red) and a newer silver model which I think only has 31 tools. Purchased a new black one when the red one is retired.
К вашему сведению, я довольно легко перекусываю толстую скрепку для бумаги этими кусачками. Это абсолютно не проблема для них. Может быть у вас слишком слабые руки?
I had a fake one of these. I used the majority of the tools, but there were some obvious flaws. The scissors were dull as fuck, the fish descaler wasn’t even sharpened, as was the case with the awl, the hook was missing, the pliers were thinner, the file wouldn’t stay in half the time, and it didn’t have the pen. That being said, when I finally got rid of it and I got a super tinker, I realize just how much I missed the other tools. Eventually I’m going to get a genuine Swiss champ to fill the “thick multitool” shaped hole in my heart.
i love the swiss champ because has many tools that i find useful packed into one unit and for size and weight. it is heavy and big ! but i find tradeoffs so it is useful.
I have a Swiss Champ but it doesn't see a lot of pocket time due to the size. I did pick up an old Champion (C) which, with the later scales, has most of the functions of the Champ, but in a more portable package, at least for me.
i understand the feeling. It works well on the trail in emergencies and i have it dramatically make things easier. im willing to risk the money for trustworth emergency tool
Except for the WOW! factor, I can't imagine any reason I'd carry this brick around. Among the merely stupid or utterly ridiculous toos in this beast, the pliers and the fish scaler immediately stand out.
City boy knife. When you might need to file your fingernails or cut a loose string off your suit. Can’t forget the wine cork remover and a tweezers to pluck that rogue eye brow.

anytime shayne!
I own both SAKs and folders like Spyderco, Boker, Manly etc. Sometimes I carry both together.
I had one for the last 15 years and it was robbed out of my car a few weeks ago. It had travelled the world with me. But... I just bought a new one, so time to start making new memories with this one.
sorry to hear that. the newer ones may have some slight upgrades to them.
Sad to hear that, thieves are so pathetic
I have one of these, 40 years old. Given to my dad by my grandfather, and I inherited after my father died
thats amazing. i hear stories about these being passed down.
For Fuc*s sake, don’t sell it period
I hope you'll never lose it. Do you know Victorinox maintaines it for free? You can even have broken parts returned to you if the knife is of sentimental value (which yours is I guess).
@@makr7895yup, I had mine recently refurbished by Victorinox - I bought it back in 1991 :-)
Really like your comment that the tool can be used to help someone. Many of the tools; we can't imagine needing it--but we could meet someone where the tool could be a godsend!
Swiss Champ is a complete package pocket tools for adventurer
yes it is! great item to have on the trail!

Love mine carry it everyday
Keep one in your car along with a pair of pliers and a cheap Mora knife and you'll have everything you'll likely need.
Yes!

Love the swiss champ its my second favorite next to the cybertool lite
Great tool the Swiss Champ

Thats a nice upgrade my friend. The swiss champ is probably my favorite model out of all of them. if it had a Lite module on i id be pretty happy.
Перфектен нож, който ми върши много полезна работа!

thank you. i carry my cybertool lite everyday .
Great..SAK are timeless
love them. just got in another huntsman lite with newer module. it is warmer led and a bit brighter.
I don’t know man, I’d never sacrifice the toothpick. I use it all the time for my teeth, also works good for gently cleaner electronic ports
The tooth pick is a great tool and yes to the electronics. Im outside more than inside and i usually have a electronics kit for when i work on electronics.
I'd probably sacrifice the pen but idk
@@TheFossilChannelsame here. I mainly mean on the speaker/ charge ports on my phone or watch.

thanks for the info! good idea. The swiss champ provides a good platform for experimenting with things like this!
Love the Swiss Champ! I carry mine in a belt pouch, tho. It takes up so much real-estate, in the pocket.
this is true
I really like these knives
theyre great and work well!

I believe the notch in the end of the scaler is a hook remover. Mine is in black
thanks for that !

Solid review of a solid tool thanks, but ive seen some of these with torch included?

thanks brett !

Wow that's crazy it's like 100 hear in us but that was a yrs ago when I got mine.
Just bought my new one on Amazon for about $90 USD, for the blue transparent scale version
I'm glad you use the term slotted screwdriver. The other popular term flathead annoys me. Thanks for great video.
The screw has the slot hence the need for a flat head driver.
Nobody cares what annoys you Mark. Get over it
Love my huntsmen, but this is amazing. Might have to pick it up!

agreed!
9:06 Yup! I’ve got the gray with glass magnification on mine.
lucky! those are the better magnify glasses!
I have one that’s nearly 30 years old (red) and a newer silver model which I think only has 31 tools. Purchased a new black one when the red one is retired.
FYI the "wire cutter" on the pliers won't even cut a paper clip so it really is for thin stuff. That said still love this tool.
yes very small items and it also highly depends on the metal too.
But I guess you can cut through it with the saw edge on the file...I just ordered one and it's coming tomorrow so I'll find out then.
I cut welding wire with mine fir years.....yours mightve been bad or defective from day 1

Perfect video as I just bought a Swiss champs de VA6RJ
Glad you got one ! 73 my friend! See you on 20m ssb
Interesting video.
I have had my knife for 42 years. Its a good and useful tool. My knife does not have the hook on the back .😊
You have a rare older model. This one is a modern model from the late 90s i believe up to today
Great knife its a Champ among pocket knifes.
yes a very good solid choice
Excellent 👍🏻
never go adventure w/out one . swiss champ , explorer, huntsman , climber my favorite SAK
Yes it is love my tinker

Godspeed. You will not regret it.
Watch the prices as they fluctuate massively and then buy when the time is right.
I still forget there’s a push in there too.
I've got an old one, minus the hook & pin, can confirm it's second only to my Hercules 👍😆
i love the swiss champ because has many tools that i find useful packed into one unit and for size and weight. it is heavy and big ! but i find tradeoffs so it is useful.

The champion is a sweet spot for some who dont need the functions of the swiss champ
You can build a house with swiss champ
now do a review of the workchamp XL (I say the XL model because the workchamp tools are already filled by your Swiss tool)
Have to save up to get one
I damm sure wouldn’t use my own personal Swiss 100 dollar champ to walk around do trail maintenance on public grounds
i understand the feeling.
Different tools different purposes.
Ты довольно глупый)
Gruby,nieporęczny,ostrze bez blokady👎

Выздоравливай
find a good used one with the gray magnifying glass
