I liked your review. I have an older Victorinox SwissChamp XAVT, but my model (#1.6795.XAVT) is no longer in production. It has 80 features. It's not really a practical EDC knife, but it's very impressive. Mine has a built-in clock/calendar LCD display on one side, and two hooks instead of one. I collect Swiss Army knives. In my opinion, the "Swiss Champ" is the the largest of the classic Victorinox designs to still be handy to use and not too expensive. These huge models are interesting to collect but impractically large and heavy. I have one (with the butane lighter!) and stupidly dropped it onto the floor. The smaller knives would have survived with no ill effects but this beast was so heavy that it cracked one of the scales!
More like 20 tools, 64 uses for them.. or 80, or 200. I mean you can use a knife to cut so many materials you might as well just say it's around 1500 functions, right?
Cool. Probably a bit unwieldy, but the gadget lover I once was would have longed for it. I did learn a couple of "new" functions for my own 30 plus year old Swiss Army knife, still going strong; the way to hold the pen; the measured line drawing...
Bought my Swiss Champ (SOS set) almost 40 years ago when I could probably have used my (then) scant funds elsewhere. Still have the set and had it refurbished by Victorinox a few years back. As good as new.
Nice video. At the 7:30 mark, I would add the two bit drivers are also small socket drivers without using the bits. I heard that the Victorinox SwissChamp XLT is being discontinued. At an online price of $294 (or more) I guess it was not a big seller.
