I actually just recently donated my SAK Huntsman to a foreign supermarket worker to aid in his daily work tasks. It is probably the oldest SAK that I had owned.
I do like the SAK Cybertool, but being in engineering, computer & electronic repair, & appliance repair, I have soo many small and large portable kits/bags, and duplicates of these in my home and Truck, that getting the Cybertool was never a needed option.
The 2 remaining SAK knives that I still own are the SAK SwissChamp, and WorkChamp XL. I bought the latter in Zurich, Switzerland some 2 + decades ago, but honestly would have to say my #1 choice is the SwissChamp. For starters, it is street legal here in Queens, NY, USA, and fact is I like the more versatility and that it has a magnifying glass. (getting older and my eyes aint what they use to be, and I like additional means to start a fire)
I use to like the SAK Gentlemen knives, but I guess one could say I outgrew them when I started taking on large 'Jack of all Trades' tasks.
Great video, and quite interesting on seeing your personal choices.

My favorite SAK is the German army SAK. I was given one while attending the German Bundeswehr mountain school back in 1982. The combination saw, bottle opener, can opener, and both flat head and Phillips screwdriver is genius! I added the Firefly ferro rod and waxed tinder to the cork screw. I also drilled a thread size hole in the finger opener on the awl to use it for sewing. Whenever I go to the field that's the knifr I have with me.

Thanks for the video! After having suffered a disabled stroller axle, a flip flop malfunction, and a severely broken toe nail at a theme park some 25 years ago, I began carrying a tool to assist with repairs. I use my Swisschamp and Rambler daily. From small auto issues, tightening door and spectacle hinges, removing sharp objects from boot soles, or simply trimming fingernails, these tools are not afraid to work and easy to maintain! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My EDC at work is the alox mini champ, it's small enough to not intimidate people, can easily go on my key chain and an underrated tool that's possibly my most used is the hook blade on it, you can easily cut open pallet wrap, cable ties etc. without fear of damaging the goods in it.

    My favorites are:
    - The Deluxe Tinker: My personal EDC for about 5 years, it's compact enough to carry in a pouch and has the three tools that I use almost daily: the scissors, the phillips screwdriver, and the very underrated pliers.
    - The Tinker Small: Basically the tiny version of my Deluxe. Although the 84 mm format is only slightly shorter than a regular 91mm Victorinox, it makes a quite a difference when you carry it in your pocket.
    - The Bantam Alox: Not only it's gorgeous to look at, but it's so slim that it fits inside my wallet! The combo tool is quite useful. I carry it wherever a full-size knife is not discrete enough.
    - The Outrider: The best knife in the 111mm range and the best knife for hiking or any outdoor activity. The locking blade is great for more heavy duty woodwork.
    - The Rambler: A perfect keychain knife for people who don't want to carry a knife! I've gifted this one countless times.

I will admit, I’ve at times felt jealous of the deluxe tinker. I carry a fieldmaster and love it, and while for some occasions I would love the pliers over the saw, there have been those few times where the saw has saved the day!
I also used to carry a rambler on my keys. I recently swapped it for a mini champ. I wanted to try it since everyone seems to talk down on it and I’ve liked it so far. For the minimalistic style, I prefer the rambler. But this lives on a ring with ~10 keys so not too noticeable.

My favorite larger format is the Master Craftsman. Probably the reason that it was issued for Astronaut carry. Alas, it is discontinued…. I carry mine in a belt sheath…. Every day I have a climber in my pocket…..a poor man’s compact….cheap online ..you can get them used for half the price of a compact and usually even less…. The compact is, unfortunately, quite pricey for what you get…but very nice…. The Climber is one layer thicker, has same tool set if swap out for plus scales…except the combination tool is replaced by the standard can opener and cap lifter which works better as a small pry bar and snaps at 90 degrees. I agree that the most useful tool on any SAK is the scissors…..thank you for your videos!

It also has a pair of sharp scissors, nifty pliers whre I superglued a nail file and the usual can opener, bottle cap lifter and corkscrew at the back. In the smaller size, I have the Rambler as an EDC/keyring knife; and it's great for around town as it is too small to worry anyone. In the medium range, I have the Spartan (old), Huntsman (very, very old) and the Swiss Champ (new). I bought the latter as my Huntsman dates from 1984 and the main blade has lost the grind from many years of sharpening. The Swiss Champ is too large and bulky for a pocket knife (my mistake as I was told this), so I have recently bought an Alox Farmer X. This is a great knife and UK legal (as pointed out in Jon's video). Very happy with this as the wood saw and scissors are my go-to tools for camping. The Swiss Champ now sits happily in my on-bike motorcycle tool kit.

I’ve heard you mention uncertainty about the “parcel hook” on a couple of videos now. There is one very specific use in my work life for which the parcel hook is indispensable.
The parcel hook is the perfect shape to fit in a very specific slot on the floor of the transit bus I drive and grab the manual release latch for the wheelchair ramp. Obviously, I don’t use this every day, but rest assured that my trustee wanderer with its parcel hook is on my belt whenever I climb into the driver seat of a transit bus.
IMJ this kind of exemplifies, the application of the multitude of tools offered on any Victorinox. On the one hand, there is what they designed initially to do, on the other hand there is what it winds up doing and how useful/helpful it is two people in their daily lives.

It’s so hard to pick favorites! Ultimately it comes down to what tools you’ve been using lately, and which ones you already carry. For example, I always go for the knives with pens because I don’t carry a dedicated pen, but for people who do carry a pen, this becomes much lower priority. On the other hand, I’m fine using my phone as a flashlight most of the time, so I don’t seek out the flashlight models. Let’s all just agree that Swiss Army Knives are fantastic =)

Its hard to pick a favorite. I have a bunch and I carry different ones every couple of days. I know that imo, when it comes to outdoors stuff like with camping, the Handyman, Ranger, Outrider, Farmer, or Hiker are my go to SAKs.
My wife bought me a Ranger and I love it. I like having pliers, but the Ranger doesn’t have any, so I usually carry the 5in. Knipex Cobra mini pliers in my pocket with it. Here recently, I’ve had problems with the alternator in my car, and I haven’t gotten it fixed yet, so I’ve been using those pliers to disconnect the negative on my car battery so it doesn’t die for the last couple of weeks hahaha.
But if you want all of the tools on the Ranger model, plus some pliers, just get the Handyman. 👍🏼

Jon - appreciate the thought process in developing your list (targeted for the EU rules and regulations). My take on the list for USA:
    5. Hercules (111mm) - belt sheath / working outdoors.
    4. Explorer (91mm) - medium weight pack knife.
    3. Pioneer X (93mm) - carried every day in my small Topo bag either in my pack or cargo pocket.
    2. Midnight Manager (58mm) - on my Keychain everyday.
    1. Evo S-14 (85mm) - carry this knife nearly every day in my pocket.
    Honorable mention:
    6. Slacks or jacket pocket - 74mm Executive.
    7. Cybertool (91mm) - doesn't rate higher because I prefer a Letherman with bit kit for EDC screw driver.

My first knife was a SAK (I think a Manager?), but for a long time I never really had one after that, at least not that I carried at all. Then I randomly was offered a Pioneer Alex with Copper colored scales and a red shield, and it had no bale loop or eye on it. That was the one that finally did it. Not having the bale loop or eye made a world of difference for me, and it has been in my back pocket for years since. I know it is a relatively rare version of the Pioneer, but it works so well for me I can’t go with another one if I wanted to. Been in the washing machine a couple of times when my wife grabbed my pants and I had not checked the pockets yet, and been used for everything from opening a package to putting together a desk for my mother last week.
I have a ton of knives that cost 10x or more what it does, and none of them get put in my pocket nearly as much!

I found a very rare Executive with stainless steel scales in a tobacconist shop in London 15 years ago. It was brand new “old stock” of unknown provenance and they had only one. The Executive is my favorite model; it’s compact with scissors, screwdriver, two blades, file and nail scraper and a unique orange peeler sawtooth blade with a fine flat screwdriver head. It also has tweezers and tooth pick. Chuck Yeager said it’s his favorite knife. In combination with a Four Sevens titanium Preon it was my EDC for years but now is my nail care tool. @@1OneMinutePlease hello there, we're blessed to be in good health and I hope you are in the same situation! That indeed looks like the bigger brother of the huntsman, which might be a good option, I personally don't have any 111mm knives, but seeing the price I would consider if you want the extra length or if you want something lighter like the Huntsman or something feature packed like the Swiss Champ. The problem being that the Swiss Champ has gone up in price a lot over the last 5 years, otherwise I would definitely recommend that. Now it's more a choice of the size+weight vs the features I would say. And what are the intended purposes of the knife, is it the only tool you carry or is it complementary to some other tools? The Swiss Champ would in my opinion be a better standalone tool. I don't know if this was of any help, but I would consider these things as well as the price of course. Happy Friday Jon. All great choices. I have them all except for 2, I don't have an Alox Bantam as I have the regular Bantam, had mine for 44 years & carried it in my pocket everyday to & from work for over 34 years, its now retired with new black scales with scale tools instead of the battered old red economy scales ( with no tweezer or toothpick ) it came with when I bought it new so long ago and the 2nd SAK I don't have is the CyberTool Lite as I have the CyberTool M ( 34 ) instead as part of my home tool kit of various multi-layer SAK's including the M ( 34 ), Deluxe Tinker, Ranger , Wenger Tradesman & the 84mm watch opener tool . I really love the bright orange LE2021 Pioneer X & have 2 , one for EDC & the other unused in my annual Limited Edition Pioneer / Pioneer X collection. Nowadays my default keyring SAK is a hybrid SilverTech scaled Midnite Mini-Champ & a 2nd larger blade knife which can be anything from a 91mm Compact, Climber or Huntsman to a 93mm Pioneer X or Farmer X, one of my Evo-Grip S17's ( they are lockblade knives & I have both original Wenger ones & Victorinox Delmont ones ) through to 111mm Victorinox locking knives - Nomads ( Picnickers ) , Garant, Rucksak & Forester to other knife brands - lockback Bucks & flipper liner lockers Civivi , Kershaw or Case XX & Rough Ryder lockback knives. For an evening out in addition to my keyring SAK I swap the larger SAK for a more elegant Gentleman's knife - an 74mm Executive, an 84mm Cadet or Sportsman or Tourist , an 93mm Pioneer Solo or a Case XX mini Copperlock or some other fancy handled small pocket knife of which I have quite a few .
