The tightest turn I had ever taken in my 5 of trucking was across the river of NYC in NJ. It was 2003, and had a Freightliner FLD. It was a double lane road with cars on both sides. It had been during 5:00 evening rush hour traffic. I had to turn right. I made sure to take all of the room I needed while turning because I knew if I would have not made the turn, police would had been called to direct traffic. I was absolutely amazed that I had to make the turn, but I did it. It was insane.

Dude just slide your tandems as close as you need to, when you are close to delivering, do what you need to get to the customer. Nobody will hassle you just so long you’re not going hundreds of miles in the wrong hole. If you only have a few miles to go put those tandems where you need to make turns. No cop is gonna be waiting to write you a ticket. You have to do what needs to be done

Try driving in Paterson when there is snow. Be careful, I was robbed there twice by gun point to the back of my head.

Dude you did a fantastic job of getting through Patterson! Really dude hats off to you. You are absolutely right that preplanning is so important to getting to some of those places safely but you did a phenomenal job. I haven't driven for 25 years now but I sure miss it.

Thank you for watching🙏🏻! I kick myself a bit for having to pull forward on this one. There was room to do it in one shot. But still. Safety and peace of mind come first😉.

I haven't been there in 3 years and don't plan on going back. Slide your tandems forward when going into small towns. Not like there's going to be a scale

Yes, I always slid my tandems up; just have to be careful with the tail swing when turning near parked cars.

Yeah I’ve been to an area like that in NJ. Between the narrow and one way streets, lots of cars and crazy drivers definitely NOT my idea of a fun time 😅 I did it tho🤘 probably never again however 😉✌️🤙

Youll be fine anywhere in usa..always extra wide turns. everyone been doing this for years.im in manhattan.stay safe driver.stay away from crappy gw bridge and use governor cuomo 278 if your along those routes is my only advice to you 😊

Some places u cant even make wide turns as u can see in the videos and the drivers that still go to the bronx and manhsttan are super truckers . Idc who been doing it for years . Some places aint worth it especially NY and NJ.
