ABOUT MARION
Marion Grasby is a food producer, television presenter and cookbook author who's had a life-long love affair with Asian food.
Marion is a little bit Thai (courtesy of her mum) and a little bit Australian (courtesy of her dad).
Marion lives in Bangkok, Thailand and travels throughout Asia to find the most unique and delicious Asian food recipes, dishes and ingredients.
I always love Marion's recipes, especially when it comes to noodles. Not all her recipes are 100% traditional, but sometimes it is her personal touch on the dishes that makes them come out extra fragrant, delicious and comforting. Definitely going to try this for sure.
Oh thank you so much ❤️
at least once a week you are my inspiration to cook something delicious -- hello from czech republic / middle of europe
Loving the simplicity of this! Something new and fast I can do for all the family mid week and everything I have at home. Ta very much 😊
Total win! Tried your original char sui…bought all ingredients….& as good as it was..haven’t made it again due to life (time) constraints. Can’t wait to try this! I crave well crafted deep flavored food. Your gochuchang pork soup is brilliant. I’ve even frozen individual portions. Thanks for your emphasis on technique & flavor.
When you took that first bite, my mouth automatically opened like a baby bird. Drooling has commenced lol! 🤤
Thank you I’ve had a stressful day at work, feeling better now 😊
😘
A Winner! Short Cut Char Siu! I love it! I do make a great Char Siu, but as you said... It takes time. I might just make the Char Siu shortcut for Egg Rolls! Thank You, Marion. Marty in New Jersey.👍
Now that is an amazing idea!!! I’m totally going to try it out next time I make spring rolls too!
@@Marionskitchen ... Marion... You Rule! 💋
Absolutely delicious. Marion never misses. I did add a whack of cone pepper chillies in oil to the char siu and pork - next level. Thank you Marion!

Hi Marion, all that I can say is "you rock" Thai food is my fav. I first went to Thailand in the mid 80's and was hooked ever since. Love your style of creating Thai dishes. Cheers.
This is not Thai food
That trick of yours to brown the mince until it smells like hamburgers is next level, we’ve been doing this for many other recipes and it’s a game changer. Will have to make this recipe and soon. Yummmmmm😊
Making this tonight. I love these cheats guides
Thanks, Marion! Will try this tomorrow. ♥️
Hope you love it!
Marion, you are so lucky to have a mom like Mama Noi and know SO much about Asian / American / Australian cooking - the perfect combination. So lucky!!! You do have a wonderful team supporting you too. And, of course, you never smear your signature red lipstick - no matter what you eat. Bravo!!! ♥️♥️🥰🥰🌺🌺
Oh thank you!! 🥰
I made this tonight and family said it was delicious and a keeper. Wish l could send photo of it.
This recipe looks delicious! Gotta love a stir-fried noodle and the color of that pork is yum!
Never thought to have used mince but those caramelised images got me all excited. 😍
👍👍👍👍 Will make!.. Can you please do cheats, Thai Laab/Larb? Mine = I like to marinate the mince in lime, fish sauce, and chili flakes, also use crushed almonds instead of Thai Toasted-Rice Powder. Thanks....
We use LKK char siu sauce with a splash of rice wine and a pich of 7 spice to a beef and pork mince and make smash burgers on a griddle pan. Sometime we just use them to make burgers with chilli crisp or chop them up for stirfry, finely chop the smash burgers to use in a ramen bowl.
Looks delicious. I’m going to have to try this asap!!
This is what most people need--a dish that is tasty , quick, easy and simple to clean up. In this modern era, most people don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen unless it is a chef who cooks for a living.
Everything you make looks soooo delicious.
This was delicious. Thank you
That I will try! I have all the ingredients and skills and it's quick! Thanks.
Dude.....AMAZING
🙋🏻♀️Viewer from the US here!! I live in an area where there is not a lot of access to authentic GOOD asian restaurants in the midwest...so I frequently make my own. Love your recipes - they are simple, tasty and quick for a weeknight. PLEASE someone tell me where your glasses are from or what brand !!! 🤓
Glad to hear you find my recipes useful! 😊 And my glasses are from Retro Super Future and the style is ciccio in matte black
Good morning from London...thank you for sharing...
Genius hack!
We will always support you and your channel. Keep working hard as always.
Can't wait to make this dish in my MAKO wok! Thank you.😋👏🏽
Gonna give this a go. I suck at using a knife and don't like handling food too much because of sensory issues, so a food processor has been a game changer to help me get more vegetables into my diet. I probably won't be able to cut the vegetables the same way because I'd use the processor, but I'm sure it'll still taste lovely. Is some normal soy sauce ok to use in the stir fry sauce as well? I don't like it too sweet.
I tried making Char Siu myself twice. Both times the flavour was good, the texture of the meat, not so much, and it took a long time, so I gave up. Now that I saw this hack, I am excited to try it. Thank you!!
Also, I couldn’t order the cookbooks and have them ship to Germany, would they be available to us in the EU anytime soon? 😭
I really love that this method takes barely any time but you really do get a similar flavour 😃😃😃 And I’m working on EU shipping right now! Thank you for your patience 🧡
Tonight's meal. Using sliced pork chops!

First
Beloved, do you know the Lord Jesus Christ? Jesus is the Word of God, who became flesh. He lived a perfect, sinless life, then He died on the cross for our sins. On the third day, Father God resurrected Him; He rose from the dead; and now He is alive, and He sits at the Father God's right hand. He is the one and only true living God; there's no other, apart from Him. He loves us; He created us! He is not the God of religion, He is the God of a personal relationship! He desires a close relationship with us. He said in John 14:6, "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' No one can come to heaven except through Jesus! Therefore, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior today, if you haven't done it yet! Repent of your sins, and ask Him to forgive you, cleanse you, and make you a new creation in Jesus Christ! Then invite Him into your heart, and into your life. Talk to Him and acknowledge Him on daily basis; run to Him in your distress, and He'll give you rest! Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Beloved people, tomorrow is promised to none of us; and without Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we won't have an eternal life in heaven. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and His sacrifice on the cross today; do not wait another minute! John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

That’s not char siew. It’s just flavoured minced pork fried noodle. You can easily substitute the sauce with green curry or tom yam paste and call it Thai fried noodles with pork 😂
And btw, the bulls eye fried egg?! No one eat char siew with fried eggs. The runny yolk would just overpower the taste of ‘char siew’. Blasphemy.
Seems like, what you have presented is some western-style Chao Mien with your own flavour twist
My take, cook the char siew flavoured minced meat and prepare the noodle dish SEPARATELY. You’ll have two aromatic dishes that could compliment each other, instead of one dish that assault the taste palate. And forget that fried egg
