  • Imagine a set of high end pedals being affordable. Ok, so both 'high end' and 'affordable' are extremely subjective. But what if, as a 'content creator' who has tried and reviewed many sets of pedals now, I told you that Simforge, a company in India who aims to make this dream a reality for the people of India, is actually releasing these pedals seen here in the flagship black edition for only $399 USD. That's with everything included. All mounting hardware, electronics and EVEN a few extra elastomers for your 24-bit 80kg load cell brake...
    I apologise that this video is relatively long for a first impressions video but it covers all of the questions that I have received from my community to date and hopefully, it will also answer yours. It includes assembly, configuration, etc. But I've included timestamps in the description and if you only want to watch certain sections, that's fine by me :)

    Everything looks so nice and clean, and I'm a real supporter for a red and black colour combo. Also the attention to details is amazing, especially at that price point. Nobody would be complaining if they were 150-200 euro's more expensive. I kinda like that hose pipe, really clever way to reduce even a little cost without impacting performance in any way.
    Really interested to see your long term review and experience. It's stuff like this popping up in the last year that makes sim racing gear so much more exciting! And as always, great video and editing quality!

    Hi, great video is this. Pedels are probably more important than the wheel!
    I actually brought a SW15 from simplicity based on your review last year. (SW20) didn't think I need the extra 5nm and then only run it at 13nm so happy with the choice.
    These seem such good value and I'm still using old V1's so this could be my next upgrade.

    New SUB here. I fell in love with these pedals when I saw them reviewed on another channel who did a very in-depth evaluation of them and I was really glad to see your excitement and enthusiasm when you used them. I'm relatively new to sim racing (iRacing) if you don't count the years I spent running the NASCAR stuff over a dial-up internet connection (yes, I'm old) and I'm running the Logitech G920 and going to upgrade soon. These are the pedals I have penciled in as the successors to the 920. Can't wait to have my mind blown and my racing experience transformed. Thanks for the great review.

    I have these…..still making daily adjustments to get everything feeling as natural as possible. But they are top notch. The only Gripe I have is the 4x M6 bolts seem to be made from very soft metal OR the relief in the head of the bolt isn’t deep enough. I stripped 3/4 of the bolts. I ended up using OEM VAG hardware i had laying around instead.
    The “hose pipe” looks to be fuel line.
    Laurence! Tighten all the bolts down, a few of the bolts in the brake assembly were not as tight as they could have been when I received.
    Oh and grease up the brake assembly, it’ll quiet down the brake incredibly.
    Sorry for all the edits, you really need to adjust the main rods upwards for stiffer feel. You will be amazed!

      Do you recommend the Simforge mark-1s for long term? (5 years +) I am planning on saving for these for like the next 8 months and I want to use them for as long as possible do the pedals also work as the advertised amount? I saw a review saying that the pedals work nowhere near the amount of bitrate advertised

    • @ZappBrandigan
      @ZappBrandigan 2 роки тому

      @@slycooper4946 I have only had them for less than 1 month. With that in mind, yes, I would recommend. Theres nothing that leads me to believe they wont last me 5+ years. The construction is very robust. Even the 3D printed pieces are quality.
      regarding the bit rate. I havent had an issue, but I also havent analyzed the effective bit rate in a way where i can tell you its not up to spec. I did have issues with the signal from the clutch and throttle "bouncing" around without input. The ground cable provided eased some of these issues, but it did not completely eliminate them. If the clutch was bouncing around from 0-15% before the ground strap, after I added the ground, now its jumping around 0-3%.
      I hope this helps.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  2 роки тому

      I have adjusted them now and they are extremely capable. I don’t know about their long term performance but I have no reason to believe that they won’t perform exceptionally well even for intensive use over time.

      I will wait a little while before making those decisions or claims. The price point is exceptional, but I need to review products on their performance mainly. So the price is important for consumers but there’s a big difference between ‘better’ and ‘better value’.

With shipping to USA, they are still a bit cheaper than the Simagic P1000 pedal set. Having tried both sets of pedals, would you think it'd be wiser to go with the P1000 or the Mk1? Thanks!

    Excellent review as per usual LD! You mentioned that the brake feel was better than the standard V3's, which is great news given the price! Do you know how it might compare to the V3's with performance kit? Great review! some of the fiddling you have to do is making me scratch my head and making me a bit hesitant but then you look at the price lol. I don't have a profile alu cockpit, I use a TR8 Mach 3 by Trak Racer. so how would I mount these on the pedal plate? that's one of my questions. I am waiting for the simagic pedals to get a bit of a comparison :D with so many options emerging around this price points (or slightly above these), I feel like it's good to wait and compare reviews to make the best decision possible.
    I have had to mess around with my Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals a bit particularly the loadcell and I don't like to mess about too much. for me I like the ease of use. I would pay more to have the ease of use and not have to mess about at all.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  2 роки тому

      Hmmm I don’t know how you might mount it. I can get you the width of the profile, which might help you. The Simagic pedals are twice the price as far as I’m aware so I don’t know if that makes them an option still. The simforge pedals are easy to install once assembled, but yeah there’s a bit of work in getting them assembled.

    Can thebrake pedal be proud of the throttle? I have a tough time heel and toe shifting when the brake pedal is pressed. In my car its easy to do because the brake pedal is still out further than the throttle, even when firmly pressed. The design of the pedals looks as if the pedals don't need to be in line.
    Also, that base plate is ingenious. Very versatile and easily adjustable.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

    For the final review could you please tell me how it feels without the spring in the brake? Is it even possible to set up the brake without that spring? I tend to not like a 2 stage feeling in my brake. I’d ideally like only elastomers for my brake pedal without any spring.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Yeah they're not as 'tight' as the sprints but i haven't gone near the adjustments. the baseplate is so much better than the heusinkveld baseplate though.
