@@c0r5e if you have a harness on a racing seat you don't need an airbag. F1 drivers are safer in their f1 car than regular people on their regular cars. And f1 cars have no airbag. The harness keeps you glued to the chair. Unless the whole front of your car flies off you won't need an airbag.
One more thing you could do to this wheel in order for it to have a stronger/more durable mounting face is to put nuts immediately up against the base aluminium plate after passing the screws through, and tightening down. Then adding additional nuts on the ends of the screws, right up against the inside of the housing, that way the housing is resting on the nuts. This takes away all the strain from the 3D printed plastic parts and makes the whole mounting assembly incredibly strong, easily enough for 30Nm direct drive systems. Love your videos, you've been a huge source of inspiration!
I've been using this on my 83 Ford Escort and it's driving like a boss. Thanks m8. I didn't have a 3d printer so I used a jigsaw and instead of carbon fibre I used fibreglass which was recycled from an old building job. Some of the texture gets into my hand every now and again and it itches like a bitch but if I don't rub my eyes and use my gloves when I drive it works well. Couldn't be happier, I even think I take those corners a little faster.
Not to diss your former self’s creative choices, but if you created narrated re-releases of your former EDM-music-based videos, I would TOTALLY watch every single one multiple times over.
Dude 2 years ago I was watching a video of you the video was custom wheels for the g29 that day I got a t500rs set with th8a thanks you were my inspiration for sim racing
This is very nice, thank god your channel isn't dead. Could you make a proper 2000s esque F1 rim (like the BMW Williams or Schumacher era Ferrari)? Or possibly even a proper GT3 rim like that of the R8 LMS and/or AMG GT3? I'm really starting to like this series of making specific brand wheels.
@@maximilianschaffler9981 TMX doesn't have a quick release, it comes with the wheel hard-fixed to the base and to you will need to completely disassemble it to remove it. The adapter works only for the likes of T300, TX and the higher end ones
OMG this is so awesome! Thanks for posting. Also a side tip, you can use a general deburring tool that can clean up sharp edges on the metal plate a lot faster than using a file.
Honestly it's much easier to but this stuff. But I took on an engineering course and I'm planning to make loads of things like that. You're my fav channel because of these things. You vids never fail to entertain me and make me want to create something myself. Keep up the good work, and I hope that you can create a online shop or something. More money for you means more videos for us! Keep up the vids. Can you make a video on how to make custom wheel rumbles? I mean it would be difficult as the inside of the wheel would be hollow. But a rumbling wheel when you hit curbs or anything would be a great addition to FFB. And also if it's possible a clutch pedal with a very strong vibration when hitting the biting point of the gearbox. If anyone can do it. It's you man. Looking forward to your next vid. Hope you read this comment and try and make this. It would be awesome!!!
It's easier to buy, of course, but since this is a niche markets and economy of scale doesn't play in our favour, it's also hella expensive. If you have knowledge, none of the tools required to make this is particularly specific, not even the 3D printer these days, and the materials are rather cheap. You can build several wheels like this one for the price of buying one.
I have an idea, but I do not know how to apply it. I want to do a steering wheel like this, but in electronics using an xbox control and occupy the 2 joystick, the pad and all the buttons. Do you think it is possible to do it?
i was wondering on how to make the custom wheel hub. i own a PXN V10 and i don't know how to make a new wheel hub for the quick release mechanism, how did you do it???
Could you maybe make a video on how you can make a wheel without 3d printed parts, cause I dont have one and I really want to make a wheel with your instauctions cause yours are definitely the best looking!!
Hey that's a nice guide, what other ways can I do the cutouts on 3mm thick aluminium if I can't have access to a jigsaw? I do have a dremel, but it is quite loud to cut on metals. I'm thinking to use hand tools. I should also say, I do live in an apartment with very thin walls so making too much noise isn't ideal.
FYI If you use aluminum like this, you can use Aluminum bluing (search Birchwood Casey on Amazon) which is used in gunsmithing. Its sold as a small bottle of liquid or in paint pens and will chemically blacken the aluminum so you dont see raw aluminum under the mounting screw holes.
Does anyone know if a usb joystick board will work on xbox? I'm thinking of trying to make a custom wheel but want to make sure that it'll actually work.
I have a Logitech G29, I love your upgrades. Based on your build, I am planning to buy a 3d printer. I been holding off because of price but they have got so much cheaper over the years. This is differently on my future build list.
This is waaaay out of my skill league. But I love watching amstudio doing it :)

Amazing stuff, if you ever started a store selling these for cheaper than competitors, i'll be a instant buyer!
KraM1t not possible due to the terms and conditions of distribution, if you read in the description it states it.
@@Simlife101 that distribution thing is about the viewer. The viewer cant resell these but he can
Ravne tbh idk but he will probably have to remove the logos and maybe change it a bit if he wants to sell the wheels

I needed a little guidance on wrapping the handles. Gluing the nuts to the front is genius! it looks so clean. Thanks!
