My favorite moment was between 2:52-2:56 when Benny realizes he wasn't as clean as he usually is and he laughs, letting us all know he is indeed human, and not a cybernetic groove machine from the future.
It's funny because he missed something not that difficult to do (at least in comparison with the things he was doing before hahaa), but I guess the hard part just before it compromised his solidity a bit. Anyway, it's also a lesson on how you have to take live mistakes: just keep playin' bro! Great things lie ahead 😊
Absolutely one of my favorite drummers of all time. Not only is he an incredible drummer but he is also a true entertainer. He involves the crowd when he performs live and has a great sense of humor. I highly encourage anybody that can see him live to do so.

Super cool man benny greb is like the ultimate geeza on the drums, if u get what I mean, his style is just great. Thank u jared and drumeo teams much for much for making great lessons with great drummers (includes u jared ). I know this isn't a one hour session but still something that I learned from and in my book that's a lesson.
With this video but maybe in all vids could you by any chance put specs of the gear the artists use? sometimes you hear something and think its great and its different than what they have on the official website for the artist. Here Benny is using a prolite and it looks like a 20 kick but hard to tell from the angles. anyways just some feedback. Love your work!
the smug look at 4:28 after the solo and the intense fill coming back on the downbeat of one and into the funk groove. God that must feel awesome to do be able to play like that.
It just doesn't get any better...on all levels! His touch & feel, technical proficiency and overall musical interpretation is in a class of its own and second to no one. Beautiful!
That groove was so thick and deep, it's still vibrating the Earth's mantle. His dynamics, accuracy, limb control/independence.. it's intoxicating to hear. He's a true master. I can't imagine getting to share a stage with him and feel the energy radiating from his kit.. that'd be one hell of a high!
Jared, Love ya brother!! How are you not laughing and smiling your ass off during some of these performances, ESPECIALLY Benny!?!!?! Bless you, and thank you!!
I'm loving this cat!! Everything he's playing is very original and not sounding like a vinnie, gadd,or other greatbdrummer clone just being Benny and that's unique and so musical!!!
Those dislikes have to be mistakes. How could anyone not love this song and Benny's performance. Outstanding and on another level of skill.. I was laughing as it was so good. Rock On Benny Greb
Jesus haven't watched this in a while. This is why you're the man benny! Damn I love this dude as a drummer and an inspiration! So good and such a nice guy.
Yall definitely need to do more of these videos of taking some of the songs the artist play during the lesson (intro song/outro/solos) and post them separate. I cant even tell you how many times i've watched the larnell lewis lesson just to watch him play. Dont get me wrong, the lessons are great but somedays i just want to watch and analyze their playing to songs from the lesson
the Americans are fortunate to have a portal like Drumeo, because here in Brazil does not have any help for drummers !, Drumeo does a fantastic job !, could think of putting Portuguese subtitles in class, would be a marvel!
Late 50's early 60's? Not too sure, he loves educating though and I know he'd love to be on. He is active on Facebook as well if you're interested. He'll respond to messages/questions.
Benny is fantastic! I was wondering if maybe you could get some other amazing artists like JP bouvet? He has very interesting creative concepts and is such an inspiring dude!
Some songs have some similarities but I would't call it something very simelar to Haken :) But that's my opinion maybe you hear more than I do. It's all a matter of perception. :)
I spent the whole time just watching the placement of his left stick on the snare. He intentionally move inward sometimes to get a thinner sound out of the drum, and uses more rim shots. Other times he moves to the middle for a more solid sound (like we're used to). To think that he puts that level of attention into his playing is amazing. I'm always learning new things when I watch Greb groovin :D
Thank you Drumeo. I try to watch one of these videos a day for the past year, and I am really progressing. You guys have taught me soooo much, and I thank you. You're the best UA-cam channel out there!

I love that part, his smile and laugh ahahah

That's real. And we the regular schmegular drummy bois did unironically need to know this.
I appreciate that.
Same 3:15 :)
Is it even legal to have so much groove in such a small amount of time?
I think not ahah
It should be. It's too good.
Legal or not, they can't stop him.
disgusting is what it is!
And with really not that big of a set!
The master at work. Love it!
Hey Gabe!
👍
His grooves are insane and unimaginable!!
Just got here because of your 5 most influential drummers, Gabe ;-) thanks for the tip, Benny is awesome!
I bought Benny's signature sticks after your comparison video!(btw you should review Steve Gadd's sticks)
Absolutely one of my favorite drummers of all time. Not only is he an incredible drummer but he is also a true entertainer. He involves the crowd when he performs live and has a great sense of humor. I highly encourage anybody that can see him live to do so.
That snare tone has a permanent home in my brain

Jared said he was going to make a drum cover of this song and he never did!!!!
Come on jared!!! you can do it!
the smug look at 4:28 after the solo and the intense fill coming back on the downbeat of one and into the funk groove. God that must feel awesome to do be able to play like that.
Alex Ivanov (drummer) not smug, joy!
Even better is Jared's face at 4:03. Totally awestruck!
We ALL can, how bad do you want to play like this!?
It just doesn't get any better...on all levels! His touch & feel, technical proficiency and overall musical interpretation is in a class of its own and second to no one. Beautiful!
Now we know what Benny Greb hears in his head when he plays drums.
What does he hear
???
@@praise_asalikeze tututuruturuu
Fruity loops?
@@praise_asalikeze The fact that the voices are benny greb actually makes this coment so funny jasjdjasdj
3:26 That face is priceless. Just shows how you should be playing music. You just gotta have fun! Truly inspirational and groovy! Amazing drumming.

favorite drummer by far
that crossover pattern he played between the floor tom and snare was so smooth, damn
yeah i loved that
The excellent Austin Burcham explains the concept here: ua-cam.com/video/0lazjo9rqVQ/v-deo.html (and yes it is awesome)
Never get tired of this Benny has soooo much groove!!!
I have literally never seen drumming that funky. And I've been watching drumming on this channel and elsewhere A lot. Absolutely awesome.
Definitely a Benny Greb fan now.
His fills are so damn unpredictable. So amazing
Jared, Love ya brother!! How are you not laughing and smiling your ass off during some of these performances, ESPECIALLY Benny!?!!?! Bless you, and thank you!!
I don't think its possible to get sick of this groove. It's just so brilliant!
YOU CAN'T stop this man! Freaking good!
Oh My GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD!! It doesn't every get any better than this.
The Drum Professor that's the top right there!
Creativity+Musically= Benny Greb
Even he looks amazed by some of the shit he's playing. Awesome 👏🏻
That's when you know you've got a good one. Not looking to impress, just sheer joy in doing and finding new things.
No doubt
Sorry. ..can't stop watching this. When I play along its more apparent than ever that he's a master!
I'm loving this cat!! Everything he's playing is very original and not sounding like a vinnie, gadd,or other greatbdrummer clone just being Benny and that's unique and so musical!!!
Thank you for providing the internet with a quality recording of grebfruit. Finally!
That stacked cymbal sounds so fresh!
The best drummer in world!
Those Sand Hats sound incredible.

P- Dylan -L haha
This is crazy good!!!! Benny is a world class, incredible drummer, one of my favorites for sure!
2 people grooved so hard they accidentally hit the dislike button EDIT: holy smokes! 4 years later and now 243 dislikes??? Stop grooving so hard!!!
Ugh make that 14...
ahora son 18, quisiera saber la critica?
34 ...may be they have better groove
Or they were just watching the video upside down. lol
Like a joke...89
Those dislikes have to be mistakes. How could anyone not love this song and Benny's performance. Outstanding and on another level of skill.. I was laughing as it was so good. Rock On Benny
Greb
Dat side snare so fat it doesn't pass through the door
Nailed it m8! hahaha
Giovanni Blangiardi lol
its interesting. I'm not a huge fan of its sound but I understand its purpose
It looks like he's using a spare head upside down on the left snare?
tmaddrummer yes maybe. That's what I do.
Jesus haven't watched this in a while. This is why you're the man benny! Damn I love this dude as a drummer and an inspiration! So good and such a nice guy.
Besides the fact that it sounds like Nickelodeon's Doug, awesome drumming!
M_Bergeron Best comment ever!
Ohhh Benny... that groove. Benny's so smooth... he makes it look so easy. I bet even he enjoyed that. Thanks for the upload.
Yall definitely need to do more of these videos of taking some of the songs the artist play during the lesson (intro song/outro/solos) and post them separate. I cant even tell you how many times i've watched the larnell lewis lesson just to watch him play. Watching this evolve over the years has been awesome. Benny greb is the man.
I swear He's the only Sonor Artist that uses their Pedals !
Hah, i almost thought the same ..
Gotta say though; Jojo mayer designed one which i've seen a bunch of non sonor players use.
Danny carey uses pearl eliminators
Thomas Lang used them when he was with Sonor
I didn’t even know they made petals
Ima tama fanboy but sonar are prob some of the best
It's a joy watching and hearing him play...what a great display of groove ("in the pocket"), creativity, form, and technical skills...
god DAMN that rhythm is clean.
Those ghost notes on the second snare @4:22 give me chills every single time I watch this video!
Guess that would be more of a press roll than just ghost notes?
I'll always come back to this masterpiece.
Benny Greb and Annika Nilles should jam together!
That would be something huh ?
Have they ever at the Meinl Drum Festival?
@@userplayeraccount if they did then the internet would break, so not yet
Annother stellar performance from my favourite drummer, awesome!
imagine just how much time he spent jamming to this tune at home. damn
Thata the crazy part, he doesn't practice man, all that was literally on the spot.
jAZZ DuNN yeah it is his music so he’d know all of the phrases and time signature changes so he’s just improvise around that
This is definitely his environment! Loved seeing him in his comfortable context. So goooood!!
CHRIS COLEMAN....MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Jomar Milian yes
Jomar Milian yes!
PLEASE!!!
This has become my favorite jam here lately. Love the tune, vibe, the drums obviously. There's a charming weirdness to it all
This is Drumming like Shaolin Kung Fu at Master Level! You can feel the hits, but you can't predict!
the Americans are fortunate to have a portal like Drumeo, because here in Brazil does not have any help for drummers !, Drumeo does a fantastic job !, could think of putting Portuguese subtitles in class, would be a marvel!
he is amazing!
Honestly, Benny Greb, thank you long time!
That snare sound is ear porn.
He has the best pocket groove and the sickest fills. Truly inspiring!
Benny is soo amazing!! I've watched his stuff over and over again never get board love that snare drum!!
What an absolute nutcase 🤣 Never get tired of watching Benny G!
2:54 he finally reveals he's really a human and not a machine as we all thought
I am just not able to watch this without smiling. soooooo awesome
Please Jared, I beg, get David Garibaldi or Adam Deitch on here! I'd be forever grateful!
How old is David Garibaldi now?
And yes yes yes, I'd love to see David Garibaldi, I'd imagine that it would be pretty hard to get him though.
Late 50's early 60's? Not too sure, he loves educating though and I know he'd love to be on. He is active on Facebook as well if you're interested. He'll respond to messages/questions.
well... seems you got what you asked for 😉
how is possible that some people doesnt like this? Is just pure groove, talent and funny song.
@4:01 dem BLUSHDAS!!!!!!!
Thanks to Benny Greb you inspire and create and sound my fave instrument off the scale of excellence and beauty
Holy smokes that was unreal
No words... this guy is out of this world . So mutch musicality!!!!

Benny is fantastic! I was wondering if maybe you could get some other amazing artists like JP bouvet? He has very interesting creative concepts and is such an inspiring dude!
YES! JP is awesome! Please Drumeo
I will never get bored of this guy's drumming... mind-blowing!
Invite Matt Hellpern from Periphery
More proof that more drums doesn't necessarily mean better drumming. Great stuff, right here!
2:38 the groove's so hard the tip of his stick said "screw this, I'm out"
That's why he switched to VF.
Amazing , just simply amazing. Great Collab!
There is a band called Haken that music like this.
No it isn´t ;)
Some songs have some similarities but I would't call it something very simelar to Haken :) But that's my opinion maybe you hear more than I do. It's all a matter of perception. :)
Harken is great, but I would say they're similar to DT than BG
uggh..i love him!
Was für eine Freude ihm zuzusehen!
All dislikes are Travis Barker fans
Travis couldn’t hold bennys jock
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Agreed
100%
both are amazingly talented drummers in their own right, stop 💩stirring you grebfruit
Hello sir I Love all your drumming your the Greatest Benny . I'm watching from Australia 🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶Matty
I'll probably catch hell for this but Benny Greb could have been Phish's drummer and capitalized on it , at that.
Phish needs Jon Fishman--just would not be the same without him driving the bus. Benny Greb could play for anyone he wants...stud.
Benny could play for almost anyone but Jon is perfect for Phish

1:15 GOD that was tasty
Yeah man
my favorite drummer Benny greb
he's got more chops than a rack of lamb
Favorite drummer and educator so far. That guy knows what he does. I really would like to have a drum instructor like Benny.
4:05 my facial expression during the whole video
Thank you Drumeo. I try to watch one of these videos a day for the past year, and I am really progressing. You guys have taught me soooo much, and I thank you. You're the best UA-cam channel out there!
Wow so tasty
❤❤❤ great drums styles,,sounds perfect 😍 love 💗 your drumming styles 🎉🎉🎉
Blonde Peyton Manning over on his left like yeah you're good man
Awesome Benny "TheGrebFruit"👍👌🥁
2 people are allergic to grebfruit
So insanely smooth and precise!
