Hey, Friends!!!!! It feels like forever ago that I made this video... I'm 30 now. Married for 10 years... I left my career at 911 to pursue UA-cam full time almost 1 year ago now... My mental health is in such a better spot than it was when I made this video. Thank you all so much for your love and support! On another note though, review of season 2 is off to a strong start: ua-cam.com/video/0wMPhwU16zE/v-deo.html
@DuskTillShawn omg dude, I love your videos. Congratulations on everything you've done so far. I'm excited to see you tackle season 2 and hopefully season 3 😁. We don't need the rest lol first 3 seasons are the best, anyway
My mum is a 911 dispatcher so I'm thoroughly acquainted with your experience. It's definitely meant for being with the thickest backbone, & you should be proud of yourself. You are incredibly valid for how you feel about it. I have a lot of mental health issues & she's terrified of me taking my own life or hurting myself ( her having taken calls from my own classmates ). I hope it all works out for you & I love your content!! I don't have much money but I hope people come out to give you the money you need. I can't wait to see what's to come from you! ALSO PLEASE DO SEASON 2 THESE VIDEOS ARE GREAT WHEN I'M WRITING OR DRAWING
You know how it goes, ratznoggin. It's a tough career that's been so rewarding, but man, I'm emotionally drained constantly. I really really appreciate your support and I'm so thankful that you're part of my UA-cam journey. Sure, Patreon is cool, but UA-cam will always be my meat and potatoes. You watching these videos is plenty of support and I really appreciate it :D Season 2 coming soonish!
Man, do whatever you need to do to make your life as happy as you can for yourself. You gotta make hard decisions sometimes but you'll get there. You've been doing great, your videos are amazing and the fact you've been able to produce stuff like this while juggling a job as stressful as a 911 dispatcher is super respectable. I really wish I could help ya with the Patreon but I'm in my own awkward financial situation so I don't think I can afford it right now, but as soon as I'm able to I will absolutely sign up for it because you DESERVE to have the life you want to have. You're the man Shawn Also, you should TOTALLY do Season 2. I will happily watch more Spongebob content from you
I appreciate that more than words can ever say, Intercactus! You being here and watching my videos means the world to me and it's literally the best way to support me. Patreon is cool, and if you do end up signing up, you're gonna get some really cool stuff, but like, my meat and potatoes is here on UA-cam! I just wanna keep making awesome videos for you all, more than anything! :D
@@DuskTillShawn Glad to hear it. Keep up the good work my dude, you're going places! I will support you as much as I can for as long as you're making content because it is truly something I look forward to seeing whenever it pops up in my notifs
For all of the times patrick was annoying this season, it doesn’t even compare to how annoying he gets later on in the series. I feel the difference is here it’s more light hearted and warm, while later he becomes a lot more cruel and less caring of a friend.
Patrick, to me, has his heart in the right place and has good intentions, even if he’s plain wrong like in Suds. He wasn’t a total idiot too stupid to live.
It feels more like he is innocent and ignorant as well as dimwinted but in the later seasons he becomes obnoxious and spiteful also downright mean spirited imagine the chocolate ballon episode his worst annoying moments flanderized to the extreme in some episodes
i still it is awsome that Stephen Hillenburg was a marine biologist and it shows in the varies episodes, specially early episodes like Rock Bottom being filled with deep-sea fish and Goo Lagoon being a brine pool
Yeah, it's really cool to watch this show with that in mind. There's logic behind a good majority of the details in this show as a result of his marine science background. I love it so much! Thanks for watching, Nathan! I appreciate you.
It's talked about a lot but I don't think most people realize how genius the spongebob universe is because of him being a marine biologist. Most people see it as a fun fact and not that the entire world is based on our world. He really knew what he was doing and it shows by how much you can learn about nature and have a fun cartoon to demonstrate it ❤
Always loved spongebob as a kid but never realised until watching through this series that I had actually seen every single one of these episodes, the visuals and especially the audio triggers such an immense nostalgia that I was aware of before but never knew how potent Nice work and thanks
When I start feeling bad or having anxiety issues, i put on one of Seans spongebob season 1 videos to help chill me out. Thank you for the great content, i really mean it!
Hey Shawn. You make our day with these amazing videos. The amount of effort that is put in for us viewers, especially those who are new in the channel would agree with the statement that you always leave us satisfied in the end of these videos. Thank you for helping people daily, whether it’s through UA-cam or on the phone. Thank you.
I'm glad you're looking out for your family and your health. I can't speak for others, but you are one of the content creators I'll support on whatever decision you make
I work with dispatchers a lot. I cannot believe that you manage to create UA-cam videos on top of your crazy daily schedules. as a firefighter, I thank you for what you do. Please take an effort to take care of yourself, not everyone can or would do what you do.
As a good friend to two brothers who work in the same building as firefighters, I can only know vicariously what it's like working with dispatchers and serving the people in their community. Much respect to you and people like Shawn. I work with kids and teens with behavioral and mental health issues. However, I can't imagine the pressure of your performance being a deciding factor in life or death. I'm more on the preventative end, not the reactionary or responsive end. Salute to you and Shawn.
These reviews make 20 year old me wanna go back in time and sit with 7 year old me with a bunch of my favorite snacks and drinks and binge watch season 1-4 at my grandparents house while talking about what the future holds. I feel happy yet sad at the thought of it.
Hey I'm 24 years old and doing a lot of personal work coming to terms with my childhood. I recommend doing it. Watching old cartoons really does bring a sense of warmth and joy while you cry about missing the "good ole days" If you still haven't gone back and watched a bunch of your faves you definitely should ❤❤
as an 18 year old currently working on their mental health i would just like to say thank you for 1 helping me alot through just watching these videos but 2 that you are comfortable sharing with us that were a dispatcher,i have talked to people over the phone who have helped me and i am beyond greatful that there are kind listeners like you out in the world because sometimes someone just need an ear to rant to,i am the listener in my friend group so i know what its like having to carry a whole bunch of weight that isnt yours but you definitely feel it,take as much time as you need because you really deserve it,thank you so much for helping people like me who struggle in silence, much love from New Zealand 💗
I'm glad that my videos are able to help you! That means the world to me! I can definitely relate. I'm the listener of my friend group as well. People like you and I are crucial and we play an important part. Thanks so much for your support and for watching my videos. I appreciate you :)
Fun fact about the Valentine’s Day episode, there is a children’a book that basically goes through the entire episode almost shot for shot. It’s pictured, no colors. I had it as a kid, and it’s one of the only reasons I really remember the episode. Also, DO THE 2ND SEASON
Me too! My mom got me the book and a SpongeBob VHS for Valentine’s Day when I was young. It had some season 2 episodes like Dying for Pie and Wormy. Episodes I adored as a kid
Hey man, just wanted to say, I know what you're going through. I'm 34 with a wife and 3 kids. 2 years ago we had to move from our hometown to a completely different state, hours away from any family because our state was just getting outrageously expensive. Let me tell you, its been the best decision we ever made. The pace of life where we live now is miles slower than it used to be, we have a beautiful home in a nice area that was literally a fraction of what even an apartment costs where we used to live, and we're actually able to take family day trips and dates for my wife and I instead of barely scraping by. It's going to be scary, confusing, and a lot of effort, (hire movers if you can swing it, TRUST ME) but after the first year and you've started to settle into your routine, I guarantee you'll feel better than you ever have. You're a dad, you got this!
This is literally everything I needed to hear. Thank you so much for this, Kryptic Kollector. The move is terrifying. Being far from my parents (especially while my dad is in recovery), being away from all my friends, and being in a new area... It's all just a lot. But I know it needs to be done. It's for the best to keep my family afloat. Thanks again for your support, my friend. :D
@DuskTillShawn Of course, man! So happy I could help. Like I said, it's going to be so worth it. You and your family will grow so much closer because of it and I can guarantee your mental health will change for the better. Good luck, my friend, and I look forward to more of your work!
Let me guess, California? A lot of my family are moving out because it's impossible for them to live out here. Some moved to Florida or South Carolina. I miss them. But I understand why they left. It upsets me off how my state split up my family. A lot of small or busted homes out here cost over 500k. It's just not worth it.
i am someone who particularly loves breakdowns/retrospective reviews of childhood shows from the 90s and 00s. i loved watching your previous videos on spongebob as i share the same feeling of love for the original 3 seasons, with that being said i would love videos on them in the future! always nice to hear other people’s personal experiences and why they may like or dislike a certain episode!
1:21:00 Goo lagoon would actually be more likely to be an area of water that is denser than the surrounding water, likely due to increased salinity Its actually not a very uncommon thing to happen irl
Yeah they're called "brine pools," and the water is so salty to go into that fish can go into shock, fall in, and "drown" in them. Would make sense to have these in the world of Spongebob and would make even more sense that they need life guards
Leaving a second comment now that i've watched the whole video: I am so incredibly happy that you are at a point where you can consider doing these videos full time! I found you channel decently early on back when you where first reaching 10K subs and you videos rarely got much longer than 15 minuets! This was one of those channels I found during the pandemic when I was working from home with a ton of free time and needed more stuff to watch, and its really seemed to grow over the years! I'm so happy you've been successful with it, you do a really good job! There are allot of youtubers that do similar content to yours, but your videos always feel so unique. Your view on shows always seems slightly different than what I hear from others, and I always enjoy hearing your take on things and seeing what angles you view the shows from. It's really great! I wish you the best of luck with your move, and I hope everything works out well for you! I can't wait to see what your have cooking up next, and I would absolutely love to see you cover season 2!
Thank you so much for watching the full video, sasukuto. I appreciate you being a part of my UA-cam journey from such an early point. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for people like you. I can't wait for you to see what else I've got coming in the future. :)
@DuskTillShawn For ‘The Paper’ I think the reason Squidward wanted the paper SpongeBob had was simple transference. He just wanted the paper back because of how much fun SpongeBob was having. But as soon as he got the paper he couldn’t recreate the fun. At least that’s how I saw his actions in that episode. Great video Shawn- good luck in your future ventures too! ♥️
I think the whole Glove World concept is a nod to the older cartoon styles of animals having gloves on their hands (Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, etc). The irony is that none of the characters in Spongebob are even wearing gloves 😂 Also I always thought the episode of Rock Bottom was like a great analogy of depression. Spongebob feels like he can't get out of his situation until the friendly fish helps him out. We could all use a "helping hand" (the balloon literally being a glove) when we are down and out. Just some food for thought lol.
I'm a 911 dispatcher also for a private company so we only take some e-calls and dispatch the ambulances. And yes it can be a lot to deal with. (I'm trying to get out of it honestly.) Videos like yours and the other channels I watch sure help to decompress after a long night. Thank you for all that you do!!
Shawn I wish you the best on all your endeavors. While unfortunately I’m not in a position where I can support on Patreon, I have an will continue to be here for your videos which I hold dearly. Keep keeping on and we’re here for whatever comes next.
Thank you so so so much for your support, Equinox! I really appreciate that. Honestly, though Patreon is really cool, UA-cam will always be my meat and potatoes. You watching my videos is more than enough support and it means the world to me. :D I can't thank you enough for being here and I can't wait for you to see what's coming next on this channel.
You’re amazing man, a true Superhero, and you still found time to give us great videos. Thank you so much Mr. Shawn, I wish you the best on your next big step🙏🏾
That might be the nicest compliment that anyone has ever given me here on UA-cam. Thank you so much, ChaiofConcrete. I really really appreciate that and I hope you know that I couldn't do this without support from subscribers like you. You guys make a huge difference in my life and I'm so thankful that you're here. :)
I loved that intro. Been watching for a long time and I found it so cool all the stuff you talked about. I am happy you're taking the initiative to not further burn yourself out. You seem like a great dad, husband, and guy all around and I'm glad you're the guy I support when watching these videos!
One thing I noticed about the Rock Bottom episode from watching this video, now that I'm old enough to analyze things beyond "hehe funny", is that it portrays the fear of getting lost in an unfamiliar environment pretty well, in that quirky Spongebob way. As someone who's gotten turned around on a highway in the middle of the night more than once, I've definitely felt that fear before, especially when I was younger before smartphones with google maps were readily available to everyone.
As a former medical assistant that started 2 months before covid. I understand. The meaningful work is the hardest and i am glad you are putting your family and your well-being first.
PLEASE do season 2!! I have to say my attention span has dwindled over the years but these videos do a WONDERFUL job at keeping me focused and engaged and just so full of joy the entire time!! A lot of the time I don’t even realise how long they are before they’re over!! I think you know, and everyone else knows, we would be THRILLED by a season 2 series :D
I appreciate your support so much, Brisklyy. It means the world to me! I'm glad you enjoy the videos and I can't thank you enough for watching. Keep an eye out for season 2 in the future!
In Fools in April, Squidward's "joke" was equivalent to the toxic pranks some UA-camrs pull that involve actual pain and discomfort, while Spongebob's are the tame UA-cam prank videos that are really just for laughs.
this retrospective was incredible. brought me right back to my childhood and made me reminisce on all these old spongebob classic episodes I hadn’t seen in forever! season 1 will always be my favorite. I would LOVE to see you cover seasons 2 and 3, and maybe even the movie!
This isn't the first season 1 review of Spongebob I've seen, but yours is the first one that's mixed season 1 footage with the reviews, and it's been fascinating seeing Spongebob slowly gain his identity. Doing this allows us to see just how significant certain episodes, such as Pizza Delivery and SB-129 are to the show. To see SpongeBob go from a laid-back, simple show with down-to-earth plots (usually) to the bizarre and over-the-top show we associate it as. Episodes like "Hooky" and "Arrgh! have more in common with season 2 than episodes like "Boating School" or "Musclebob Buffpants".
"Sandy flushes her helmet like it's a toilet" love the detail here, it always made me laugh as a kid when she did it that way after crying, every time it was so funny to me
Honestly I really am enjoying this episode so far. I watched this show for laughs and simply the enjoyment I got out of it. But you've shown me a different perspective/ thinking of the show. Thank you for that!
So I have a very specific memory of the Valentines day episode and I have honestly felt insane because I have found no other evidence that it actually happened. I very distincly remember seeing this episode on one of the first time it aired, then just like you said the episode only really aired once, maybe twice then they just stopped showing it. Then years later around valentines day when spongbob was on like season 2 or 3, Nick made a big deal about how they would be airing a brand new, valentines themed episode of spongebob. But when the day came, they aired this episode again and calimed it to be the new episode. But, like, i had seen it before! Back when it first aired! And it really has made me wonder for years, how often did stations do that? How often did they air an episode once, it got low raitings, then they just kept it in there back pocket and aired it again years later claiming it be new!
Some of the most meaningful and purpose giving work is usually some of the HARDEST work there is. There's usually a high burnout rate, and with that, a huge toll on the person's mental health. I work with kids and teens with behavioral and mental health issues, and while it can be VERY rewarding, at times...it's brutal in the day to day and the cumulative effects on my personal mental health. I've been looking for the door, but that's easier said than done when you factor in things like health insurance and other benefits. I'm glad that it looks like you have a solid "out" from being a dispatcher. With the growth I've seen with your channel, I'd bet you'll be even more successful doing it full time. Congrats, man! Love your taste in music as well! 🤘
The Texas song is by an artist named Junior Brown. He also wrote a theme song for Better Call Saul and has a suuuuuuuper deep really rich voice. Nice man, too. I've met him twice.
I always found it funny how both Plankton and Sandy (two smart characters who have never been jellyfishing) both assumed you eat the jellyfish after catching them. Like, both in the first season? Sandy is understandable as a outsider to sea life but how did Plankton not know jelly comes from jellyfish? Must be a sheltered man.
I’m 28, from the SE OH/WV/KY area. I worked at a women’s maximum security prison in WV (the only one in the state)for about 10 months. I couldn’t handle it, I couldn’t imagine being a 9-1-1 dispatcher! I’m so glad you decided to share this with us. I think most places in middle America can be pretty cheap! The part of OH that my family is from is the poorest tri-county area in the state. So dirt cheap but economically abysmal, that’s why I moved to Western KY/IN about 2 years ago. I think even bigger cities in middle America might be cheaper than Washington (except in OH, I don’t think any of our major cities are what I would consider LCOL) I hope you’re able to make enough money with Patreon and doing UA-cam. Just take care of yourself and do as much or as little content as you need.
My mom was a dispatcher for almost 20 years down in Texas. She won an award for helping a kidnapped victim who called in and was using code words so the suspect wouldn't hurt her. My mom quickly figured it out and started talking in code with her. She saved her life and the cop that took down the guy is now my stepdad.
Lets goo, was waiting for part4. Keep it up & take care of yourself man. Love these videos, good to play in the background while & nostalgia while doing something else
The phrase “chum famine of 59” just has been wondering… how old is the Krusty Krab? And how old is Mr. Krabs? I mean, if this takes place in 99, and he’s been open since 59, which I assume would be after he was in the Navy, which mean he’d be at least 22 at that point… he can’t be any younger than 62 years old. Idk I just figured he was younger than that ? Anyone else feel me?
Dusktillshawn I just wanna say I love your videos and always excited whenever you post new videos. I listen to your videos when im working at my job. Also I’m a big fan of SpongeBob since I was a kid so more SpongeBob content is always appreciated
Wow tht rock bottom episode might be the funniest spongebob ep. As a kid it kinda scared me a bit to laugh. Great vid.. You kinda way overthinking the underwater squirrel part for Sandy 😂
Just found your videos and am invested in a season 2 SpongeBob review type videos, this was really good and it reminded me of some good episodes I haven't seen in forever, keep doing great things man
I do not watch UA-cam. But I do actively watch and love your videos. I found you through your Hey Arnold series, and it has brought me more comfort than you'll ever know. I appreciate how well you covered such a special show. It felt like you had given it a new life for those who never got to experience it growing up, as well as the recognition of the writing that it deserves. Since then, I have enjoyed watching any of your nostalgia cartoon videos. There are hundreds of other UA-cam channels just like yours covering the exact same concept, but your format and commentary is special and fun and always keeps me coming back for more. Anyone who appreciates your content as much as I do understands that your mental health and personal life are more important than any UA-cam video. Take as much time as you need, prioritize your happiness, and your fans will happily enjoy your content at the pace you're able to produce it :). Take comfort in the fact that we will continue to support you during this rough patch!!!! and good luck to you and your family with the move Shawn!!!
I just want to let you know that I absolutely love your content and always watch your spongebob videos right before going to bed. These videos are so soothing and easy to listen to, I fall asleep to them every night. These are my comfort videos. I have been diagnosed with PTSD among other things and along with my symptoms being worse at night, I get nightmares and have a lot of trouble falling asleep. Your content is so soothing, it makes it easier for me to fall asleep, and when I do wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares, these videos help me relax so I can go back to bed. You are extremely appreciated, thank you for sharing your content with us. ❤️
I have a theory that in rock bottom the bus driver SpongeBob hit with his glove was sadistically trolling SpongeBob by purposefully not letting him board the bus as revenge for hitting him with his balloon earlier
Even though I’ve only recently discovered your channel, your videos have already gotten me through a rough patch which turns me to comfort shows like SpongeBob. I’d love to see a S2! Thanks for all you do!
theres an episode where spongebob has to write this essay for boating school the next day, so he tries really hard to make it the best easay ever but ends up overworking himself because not only did he not take breaks, but it also isnt his specific skill set to where he COULD push himself comfortably. some people r just different lol. but anyways, spongebob ends up having nightmares about it too and then after waking up, he starts talking about nothing and basically writes the essay naturally- and it ends up meaning nothing because it wouldnt count to be graded lol. but i like to think the message of that episode was to not overwork yourself ! (: i love spongebob messages and i hope others love em as much as i do. dont overwork yourself dawg, we love you n whatcha put out (:
You’re the kind of people who are THE first responders as a dispatcher. You feeling purpose while saving lives deserves all the praise and I hope you’re always aware of that. Keep it up and keep yourself up cause the community really needs people like you. Surprise that you even did cartoon reviews along side this.
i really respect and appreciate you, and i wish you the best with your journey to go full-time! i used to work for the suicide, natural disaster, and seizure helplines for 3 years and it really, really messes you up to spend 40+ hours a week guiding people during life or death situations. i have no doubt you can do this and be successful and comfortable with your family!
Oh my gosh thank you for doing you're job helping keeping us safe. And thank you for makeing you're videoes take you're time I hope you and you're famly find a lovely home!
I’ve loved this series you’ve made, I haven’t seen all the season 1 episodes, but that didn’t hinder my experience watching this series, I would absolutely love if you made a series review like this on season 2, it’s probably my favourite season of SpongeBob, thank you for making this series, it was really entertaining.
No i totally feel you Shawn!! I live here in Washington too and it’s crazy expensive. I’m hoping to be able to move to a more affordable place too. It’s also super important to take care of your mental health. I hope the best for you and your family ❤
You know how it goes, Ruby. It's so hard. As beautiful as Washington is, it just wasn't like this when I was a kid. The small town I grew up in is just massive now and the cost of living is way too much. I moved an hour away to help with that rising cost and now the area I live in is just as expensive. It's a shame. Wishing you a bright future, somewhere that isn't so ridiculously expensive! Thanks for watching and for your support. I really appreciate it :)
Seasons 1 to arguably 5 was when SpongeBob didn't have a reputation and really brought it's A game SpongeBob was an actual character and not just a cartoon character a person who had just entered adult hood and was adjusting to the world with seemingly kid like tendency the show was like a more kid friendly Rocko modern life
We ofc want a video on s2 but take your time, your job is very stressful but it's one of the best out there, you get to save lives and that's amazing. I watched a series called 9-1-1 and it shows how hard this job can be. Take your time you're doing great!
I love these videos because SpongeBob is a show that can be interpreted in many ways due to the amazing writing of each episode. Especially season 1, where I feel like the creators had many amazing ideas. Episodes such as the paper explore philosophical dilemmas and Shawn states his opinions and interpretations on the ideas. These ideas sometimes conflict with mine and that makes it interesting. Thanks ducktilshawn!
The paper episode, I think in a sense squidward could of gotten another piece of gum, but cause spongebob that particular paper seem special, and knowing greedy squidward “ I’ll do that to get it off SpongeBob “ he’ll do what he can, and when he brags at the end; “ I got it, and you got my useless garbage, you a sucker “ already tells you!
Hey Shawn, I just subscribed! I want to start off by saying congrats on coming so far in your UA-cam career. Furthermore, it's inspiring to see a genuine, family oriented man with goals of seeing his children flourish. I know that you can become anything you set your mind to. You can be a football player, or a king (actually, you already are), or a spaceman! I wish you all the luck as you go through life with your wife and kids 😊
Will, I appreciate that more than words can say. I wouldn't be able to do this if it wasn't for people like you! Thank you so so so much for being a part of my UA-cam journey and for your kind words. Wishing all the best for you, my friend, and I can't wait for you to see what else I've got coming for this channel.
I've been watching since you were pretty much brand new on here and love your video style, I'm so excited to support you on patreon to not only get more content but to help you not be stuck in such an a draining/taxing job

So glad everything worked out for you! ☺️❤️
I speak for everyone when I say that we would love to see a season 2 review, take your time though, don't overwork yourself
I am begging that this continues into season 2! 🥺
I second and third this
I all of this

I appreciate that, Peca! I do my best not to overwork myself :)
Thanks so much for watching. I really appreciate it!
You’re a dispatcher?? Mad respect Shawn. People don’t realize how difficult and mentally taxing of a job it is.
Damn I hope he isn't overworking himself
Patrick saying “there was a kid here earlier” about the hook carnival in Hooky is dark now that I think about it

Real talk my boy 🗣️
i still it is awsome that Stephen Hillenburg was a marine biologist
and it shows in the varies episodes, specially early episodes
like Rock Bottom being filled with deep-sea fish
and Goo Lagoon being a brine pool
Yeah, it's really cool to watch this show with that in mind. There's logic behind a good majority of the details in this show as a result of his marine science background. I love it so much!
Thanks for watching, Nathan! I appreciate you.
Stephen deserves a book about his life and or a documentary
It's talked about a lot but I don't think most people realize how genius the spongebob universe is because of him being a marine biologist. Most people see it as a fun fact and not that the entire world is based on our world. He really knew what he was doing and it shows by how much you can learn about nature and have a fun cartoon to demonstrate it ❤
Okay 2 things.
1. PLEASE DO SEASON 2
2. Seeing you on screen for the first time I gotta say you have a very very contagious smile 😁

@@aspadestelevision3719 true, but Shawn absolutely loves doing UA-cam from what I’ve heard from this vid
@@Randomlad56 exactly why you should hate on him

They really made him sound absolutely heartbroken. 😢
I would love to see a season 2. Of course, you can do things at your own pace. Hope everything goes well, Shawn.

Season 2 is coming soon!
@@DuskTillShawn
Thank you I love your work
Always loved spongebob as a kid but never realised until watching through this series that I had actually seen every single one of these episodes, the visuals and especially the audio triggers such an immense nostalgia that I was aware of before but never knew how potent
Nice work and thanks
I’m so grateful to have been a part of SpongeBob culture at its peak.
When I start feeling bad or having anxiety issues, i put on one of Seans spongebob season 1 videos to help chill me out. Thank you for the great content, i really mean it!
Seasons 2 and 3 would be great for you to cover! Go for it!
I want to see him cover the whole pre-movie era.
Hell yeah! Thanks for your support, JDude! You're the man :D
Don’t speak for everyone !
I’ll speak for myself. Heck yea do a season 2 man. These are great !
I’m glad I never skipped the first 7 min, though I always appreciate when UA-camrs lost the time stamp to skip announcements
I really appreciate you tuning in for that first part.
Thanks so much for watching, Blue Aspen Meadow! It means the world to me! :D
Hey Shawn. You make our day with these amazing videos. The amount of effort that is put in for us viewers, especially those who are new in the channel would agree with the statement that you always leave us satisfied in the end of these videos. Thank you for helping people daily, whether it’s through UA-cam or on the phone. Thank you.
It means so much to hear you say that, Patrick. Thank you so much for watching. I really really appreciate it :D
I'm glad you're looking out for your family and your health. I can't speak for others, but you are one of the content creators I'll support on whatever decision you make
You're the absolute best, Juanita! Thank you so much for your support and for watching my videos. I really appreciate it. :)
Watching old cartoons really does bring a sense of warmth and joy while you cry about missing the "good ole days"
If you still haven't gone back and watched a bunch of your faves you definitely should ❤❤
as an 18 year old currently working on their mental health i would just like to say thank you for 1 helping me alot through just watching these videos but 2 that you are comfortable sharing with us that were a dispatcher,i have talked to people over the phone who have helped me and i am beyond greatful that there are kind listeners like you out in the world because sometimes someone just need an ear to rant to,i am the listener in my friend group so i know what its like having to carry a whole bunch of weight that isnt yours but you definitely feel it,take as much time as you need because you really deserve it,thank you so much for helping people like me who struggle in silence, much love from New Zealand 💗
I'm glad that my videos are able to help you! That means the world to me! I can definitely relate. I'm the listener of my friend group as well. People like you and I are crucial and we play an important part. Thanks so much for your support and for watching my videos. I appreciate you :)
When Squidward said that, it reminded me of how they'll demonize him in later seasons 😢
How so?
@@BigBossMan538 By having the joke's revolve around his misery.
I think everyone would love a season two!!
Hell yes to the Season 2
2:16:03
You got it, amigo! :D
@@DuskTillShawn I can't wait for SpongeBob Season 2!!
i am someone who particularly loves breakdowns/retrospective reviews of childhood shows from the 90s and 00s. i loved watching your previous videos on spongebob as i share the same feeling of love for the original 3 seasons, with that being said i would love videos on them in the future! always nice to hear other people’s personal experiences and why they may like or dislike a certain episode!
can you recommend other channels for that kind of content?
1:21:00
Goo lagoon would actually be more likely to be an area of water that is denser than the surrounding water, likely due to increased salinity
Its actually not a very uncommon thing to happen irl
Yeah they're called "brine pools," and the water is so salty to go into that fish can go into shock, fall in, and "drown" in them. Would make sense to have these in the world of Spongebob and would make even more sense that they need life guards
Leaving a second comment now that i've watched the whole video:
I am so incredibly happy that you are at a point where you can consider doing these videos full time!
The irony is that none of the characters in Spongebob are even wearing gloves 😂
Also I always thought the episode of Rock Bottom was like a great analogy of depression.
I can't thank you enough for being here and I can't wait for you to see what's coming next on this channel.
Season 2 has so many bangers especially since they’re more comfy with the characters
Please do Season 2!! I love listening to these videos when I'm working or just doing other things
You got it, my friend! :D
2:16:03
I appreciate your support so much, Brisklyy. It means the world to me! I'm glad you enjoy the videos and I can't thank you enough for watching. Keep an eye out for season 2 in the future!
I love Rock Bottom because of the 90-degree cliff, that was one of my favorite gags in SpongeBob ever
In Fools in April, Squidward's "joke" was equivalent to the toxic pranks some UA-camrs pull that involve actual pain and discomfort, while Spongebob's are the tame UA-cam prank videos that are really just for laughs.
That's a good comparison, very on point!
this retrospective was incredible. brought me right back to my childhood and made me reminisce on all these old spongebob classic episodes I hadn’t seen in forever! season 1 will always be my favorite. I would LOVE to see you cover seasons 2 and 3, and maybe even the movie!
And yes, please, do season two. We need that
This isn't the first season 1 review of Spongebob I've seen, but yours is the first one that's mixed season 1 footage with the reviews, and it's been fascinating seeing Spongebob slowly gain his identity.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed this video! Thank you so much for watching, Krystal. I really really appreciate your support. :D
@@DuskTillShawn thank you so much for replying! A lot of the cartoons you talk about on here bring back so much nostalgia, thank you for that.
John O'Hurley's performance of King Neptune is great and is very regal
Please do S2!!! It’s bringing me back to the first time I saw these episodes!
Big yes on doing season 2 Shaun. This has been really fun going in depth on these episodes. Thank you. So good. ❤👏👏👏

The Texas song is by an artist named Junior Brown. He also wrote a theme song for Better Call Saul and has a suuuuuuuper deep really rich voice. Nice man, too. I've met him twice.
There is so much in season 2 to talk about! You should definitely make a video about it!
SEA! SON! TWO!
SEA! SON! TWO!
(When you're ready of course, take all the time you need!)
Omg, that's so interesting, glad the victim was rescued!
both your mom and stepdad are amazing for this
Lets goo, was waiting for part4. Keep it up & take care of yourself man. Love these videos, good to play in the background while & nostalgia while doing something else
Hope it all works out. I remember the first part SpongeBob review you did, it was great. Glad to be apart of your community before 100k!
I would absolutely love for you to do season 2! I've been enjoying these videos ⭐
First the paper then a box. Squidward has a knack of giving SpongeBob magical objects

(: i love spongebob messages and i hope others love em as much as i do.
dont overwork yourself dawg, we love you n whatcha put out (:
this dude managed to make me almost cry over a spongebob review
you questioning the cartoon logic of spongebob after every episode is fucking sending me lmfao

What I love about 58:58 is how Spongebob can't lift two marshmallows on a stick, but absolutely throws a whale no problem.
Hope to see you review season 2, and maybe 3.

Would definitely enjoy seeing you do this for season 2 as well
No i totally feel you Shawn!!
Seasons 1 to arguably 5 was when SpongeBob didn't have a reputation and really brought it's A game SpongeBob was an actual character and not just a cartoon character a person who had just entered adult hood and was adjusting to the world with seemingly kid like tendency the show was like a more kid friendly Rocko modern life
1:09:34 not you completely forgetting that sandy constructed a whole ass functional rocket on her own 😂
We ofc want a video on s2 but take your time, your job is very stressful but it's one of the best out there, you get to save lives and that's amazing.
Yes! More seasons content!. I say keep going. I haven't watched SpongeBob save for random clips since I was a pre-teen and "out-grew" it
The paper episode, I think in a sense squidward could of gotten another piece of gum, but cause spongebob that particular paper seem special, and knowing greedy squidward “ I’ll do that to get it off SpongeBob “ he’ll do what he can, and when he brags at the end; “ I got it, and you got my useless garbage, you a sucker “ already tells you!
The game exists now, they did give it the eels and escalaters treatment
