The early seasons were so iconic. If The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie ended up being the actual end to the series, it would've definitely been bittersweet. It would've been sad to have such an iconic series end, but it at least it would've ended on a high note rather than having it become a series that became a shell of its former self later on.
I dont think its a Continuity error that spongebob forgot how to tie shoes i think he felt pressured at the beginning and panic making him overthink it and forget
considering he may be (autistic) neurodivergent, I can see that, I always remembered tying my shoes through muscle memory, not actually knowing how to tie them on my own for a while

One of my favorite episode from season 2 definitely is the graveyard shift. The funny thing that I've taken away from Something Smells is the scene when SpongeBob is screaming "I'm ugly, and I'm proud!" You then get a quick shot to Squidward sunbathing on his roof, musing, "Is that what he calls it?". To anyone in the LGBT community, or a straight ally like myself, you get a little chuckle from it
Regarding SpongeBob calling the teenagers hot, I figured he was meaning it in a sense of “the hot new thing”, or in other words, “popular”. I interpreted him calling them “hot” as being tantamount to Pearl calling things “hip” and “coral”, not so much their appearances being attractive. I could be wrong. I don’t know how the writers meant it, and they may have wrote that just to force that remark about the grill, because that is so SpongeBob. He is the Hank Hill of under the sea.
My little brother only watches season two and I’ve waited months with baited breath to watch this video over and over again, just like he does lol. My favorite things about the show in its early seasons are the music and title cards. I love listening to the soundtracks and i always have that warm feeling when i hear them. The designs for the title cards themselves are so beautiful to me, and all the little quirks and details i find when i look at them again ate so amazing to me :)
There was a missed opportunity to use the Krusty Krab being closed on Sunday to transition into Something Smells since it takes place on a Sunday where Spongebob has a different list for the day than the one that says "Go to work, go to work, go to work, go to work, go to work".
I like how the movie theater scenes in Something Smells gives an ire, kinda horror movie vibe. It gives good suspense. I like the camera angle when SpongeBob goes into the bathroom to check on Patrick after him fearfully realizing he “caught the ugly”
I would like to point out the Krusty Krab being open on a Sunday if no one EVER comes in on a Sunday is also out of character for Mr. Krabs. While being open 7 days a week would mean more chances to earn money, being open when NO ONE EVER comes in also means losing money.
This season holds a particularly special place in my heart cause we had the whole season as a DVD box set. I have all these episodes practically engraved on my memory from how often I'd put the DVDs on after school. It truly was something special

A curious fact about Bossy Boots is that in the Spanish dubbing, Bob, instead of being happy about new spatulas, is happy because he thinks Mr. Crab is getting married and shouts something about bachelor parties.
In the shoes untied episode, the grill in krust krab is on opposite side of room rather than right behind window to Squidward's booth. I know it's for the purpose of the jokes in that scene. Plus couldn't SpongeBob ask Sandy for help with tying shoes
mr crab could be strict but a softy. he might of been excited that his daughter wanted to work with him during the summer so he spent the money to show his appreciation to her. that also explain why he couldn't bear the idea of firing her himself, he felt it would break his daughter and his heart.
Ocean Man also makes me emotional. It’s hard not to get emotional if you were just a kid when it came out and watched it, learned that’s the true ending for Spongebob, and remember Stephen Hillenburg is no longer with us. You realize how much of Hillenburg himself was reflected and put into the cartoon, and that’s what made it so great.

This is no hate towards u bc I luv ur videos n stuff :3 Referring to “Your Shoe’s Untied” commentary around the ~28ish minute mark: Asking Mrs. Puff: Even tho Mrs Puff does wear shoes, I always imagined she wore some sort of clog. They don’t look like they’re a tying shoe, more of a slip on or zip-up. SpongeBob knew how to tie his laces: Yes he did, although I’m pretty sure he has some sort of performance anxiety. Like he sort of freezes and forgets what he’s supposed to do if he knows that eyes are watching him. I can’t name specific episodes, but I remember this being an ongoing trait of his through the run of the show. Squidward eating Krabby Patties: This one def a continuity error but maybe an explanation of him saying he never tried krabby patties was bc krabby patties were kinda being shoved down his gullet so he didn’t really have time to process eating them. First of all, THANK YOU for yet another of those comfort videos! I still remember when you did that video where you told us that you once were a 911 dispatcher, so huge respect to that! And I hope you´re still doing well now! Second of all, is it just me, or does the animation look kinda... Remastered? It´s like they optimized it to fit with the current animation style (which in my not so humble opinion is terrible, worse than Looney Tunes)
Wait, "Bossy Boots" all took place within a single day? Even when the episode aired. I had assumed we were just seeing the events as they happened over the course of a week or two. Also; "Squidward can't make a Krabby Patty" Maybe he can't make it as well as SpongeBob, but I always assumed Squid was the cook until Sponge got hired and that's why during the Hook episode Squid was working the grill when Sponge "took a break" and Squid was giving Sponge a promotion when he left him running the cash register.
I think SpongeBob just forgot how to tie them even though he did in previous episodes! Even if you do something so many times, your brain starts to betray you and you are just unable to do it!

My favorite things about the show in its early seasons are the music and title cards. I love listening to the soundtracks and i always have that warm feeling when i hear them. The designs for the title cards themselves are so beautiful to me, and all the little quirks and details i find when i look at them again ate so amazing to me :)

Season 2 being the best season of SpongeBob is one of the hills I'm willing to die on.
There was a missed opportunity to use the Krusty Krab being closed on Sunday to transition into Something Smells since it takes place on a Sunday where Spongebob has a different list for the day than the one that says "Go to work, go to work, go to work, go to work, go to work".

I like how the movie theater scenes in Something Smells gives an ire, kinda horror movie vibe. It gives good suspense. I like the camera angle when SpongeBob goes into the bathroom to check on Patrick after him fearfully realizing he “caught the ugly”

After Stephen Hillenburg's death I can not hear the song Ocean Man without at least tearing up.
I would like to point out the Krusty Krab being open on a Sunday if no one EVER comes in on a Sunday is also out of character for Mr. Krabs. While being open 7 days a week would mean more chances to earn money, being open when NO ONE EVER comes in also means losing money.
Hands down, the animation of the VERY beginning will always be my favorite and hold the most special place in my heart, forever. ❤

In the shoes untied episode, the grill in krust krab is on opposite side of room rather than right behind window to Squidward's booth. I know it's for the purpose of the jokes in that scene. Plus couldn't SpongeBob ask Sandy for help with tying shoes

mr crab could be strict but a softy. he might of been excited that his daughter wanted to work with him during the summer so he spent the money to show his appreciation to her. that also explain why he couldn't bear the idea of firing her himself, he felt it would break his daughter and his heart.

Ocean Man also makes me emotional. It’s hard not to get emotional if you were just a kid when it came out and watched it, learned that’s the true ending for Spongebob, and remember Stephen Hillenburg is no longer with us.
You realize how much of Hillenburg himself was reflected and put into the cartoon, and that’s what made it so great.

Referring to “Your Shoe’s Untied” commentary around the ~28ish minute mark:
Asking Mrs. Puff: Even tho Mrs Puff does wear shoes, I always imagined she wore some sort of clog. They don’t look like they’re a tying shoe, more of a slip on or zip-up.
SpongeBob knew how to tie his laces: Yes he did, although I’m pretty sure he has some sort of performance anxiety. Like he sort of freezes and forgets what he’s supposed to do if he knows that eyes are watching him. I can’t name specific episodes, but I remember this being an ongoing trait of his through the run of the show.
Squidward eating Krabby Patties: This one def a continuity error but maybe an explanation of him saying he never tried krabby patties was bc krabby patties were kinda being shoved down his gullet so he didn’t really have time to process eating them. Altho he def chewed that first bite…

Second of all, is it just me, or does the animation look kinda... Remastered? It´s like they optimized it to fit with the current animation style (which in my not so humble opinion is terrible, worse than Looney Tunes)
Wait, "Bossy Boots" all took place within a single day? Even when the episode aired. I had assumed we were just seeing the events as they happened over the course of a week or two. Also; "Squidward can't make a Krabby Patty" Maybe he can't make it as well as SpongeBob, but I always assumed Squid was the cook until Sponge got hired and that's why during the Hook episode Squid was working the grill when Sponge "took a break" and Squid was giving Sponge a promotion when he left him running the cash register.

SpongeBob taught me how to tie my shoes as a little kid. I struggled so much with laces, and it sucked because my two older siblings learned quickly so my parents were frustrated and all just about gave up on me. Turns out I just needed a song lol

So glad to see you continuing this series with Season 2. I absolutely adored your original reviews of Season 1. (I'm also hoping you'll cover Season 3, the last of the show's iconic golden era! I'd also be curious to see you cover some of Season 4, maybe just an overview to capture exactly how drastically the show dipped in quality between 3/Movie and 4. I don't think Season 4 is terrible, but Seasons 1-3 are iconic and magical in a way Season 4 could never quite capture.)
I'm also really looking forward to seeing your thoughts on Band Geeks, which is one of the greatest episodes in animation history... but I'm also looking forward to seeing your thoughts on some of my more subjective favorites like Christmas Who, Shanghaied, Survival of the Idiots, Dying for Pie, Graveyard Shift, and Squid on Strike!
